Employees have been very helpful and friendly. Have always went in for our cat and dogs needs. Bought a bearded dragon from them yesterday and they were very knowledgeable and informed us of all their needs and how to take care of it. I think we been going almost twice a week lately and I have loved it everytime!

Today I took our little dog Oscar to the PetSense in Opelousas, La. I had my dog groomed approximately 4 months ago there and was pleased with the results. This time after the groomer called to ask me I could bring Oscar early, I did so. After arriving around noon, she informed me that she had to leave early and could I get him by 2:00 pm. After changing my schedule around I said I would be there at 2:00. Right before I was leaving to pick up, she called to let me know he was not ready and it would be another 45 minutes. That was fine. When I arrived she was still finishing up on Oscar. I got him, paid and left so I could finish my errands.After I got in the car with him, we noticed that the grooming was not completely done. There was parts uncut, uncombed, ears not brushed or trimmed. Sloppy job. Now, the dog did have fleas which I have treated but wanted to get trimmed and groomed first.So I went back to the Petsense to speak with the Shift Manager and the groomer to have job finished properly. The groomer was very rude and when she proceeded to finish the job, she was pulling the hair out of the dogs ears and he was screaming in agony. When we realized that she was not happy about correcting the bad job, we took the dog and left.I will never use that store for grooming or any other purpose after that experience.I will also make sure that I let others know not to bring their animal there for grooming as the animals may be mistreated. If she's treating our little dog that way with us in front of her, what did she do to him when I was not there?

Groomer at petsense in opelousas is horrible ..didn't get what I ask for fur was all uneven she tried to fix it but still wasn't right....maybe she doesn't know how to cut a pomeranian..but the manager and cashier who helped me was great I just wanted guilty work for my money.

Nice store to shop for pet supplies. They even carry treats and toys for rabbits 🐰. Staff is all very helpful always smiling and willing to help. It's a one stop shop for someone who has several different types of animals cats dogs rabbits etc. it's always a pleasant experience shopping there.

Very few items in stock. Got the lights and store closed on me while still in there. The kitties are adorable, for adoption. Dog in back would not stop barking - could hear the second one walked in. Second one I have been to, and just as disappointed as first one. Far too over priced. Don’t waist time.

I love this store. It's a nice, well stocked and staffed store. Here are a few things that I like. You can bring your pet while you shop in the store, they have pets for adoption, they have a wide selection of top brands and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Returns are easy, and every 8th or 10th pet food purchase is free. Come on Opelousas let's support our local merchants..

They didn't even have Capstar or know what it was. It's a very common oral OTC flea medication that kills fleas within 30 minutes that is safest to use on tiny kittens. I left and went to Tractor Supply, where THEY had it.

Took my pomeranian to the groomer today At Petsense on Heather Drive; won't say the staff name d/t respect for privacy. She came back hair shaved and chopped. Hair cut off on 1 ear and hair left on the other ear. Her mane that use to be under neck gone with 2 bald patches. They tried to hide it with a scarf and bow... This is NOT what was asked for and WHY did was it hidden. This was traumatic for me and my pomeranian. The staff wanted to "fix it" NO WAY! IF YOU CUT ANY MORE HAIR SHE WILL BE BALD! Don't lie or try and hide things from pet parents!!! You will never regain trust again...

There were 4 kittens . They each had a cage and they each had their own litterbox. They were crying so much. I went check. Their litter boxes were filled past capacity with feces and urine!!! They were relieving themselves on top of old feces. It was horrible and disgusting!!! I don't know who is responsible for cleaning the cages, I do know that the litter has hasn't been cleaned in along time!!! The cats were tracking feces back to where they lay and relax!!! The water bowls were goss!!!! Perhaps, the lady just sitting around could clean it!!!! I was the only one shopping at that time

I was at the place 30 minutes before their closing time. The place was locked up and no one answered the phone. I drove 25 miles to shop. Highly disappointed. Next time i’ll Shop at the competitor.

Very nice store, but can't get a brush out price over the phone. She wants to see the dog to give a price
