I recently revisited the deli for a plate lunch at this old, locally owned supermarket, and it was absolutely delicious! This lunch reminded me why I loved it so much in the past. Not only was the taste phenomenal, but the portion sizes were generous, making it an incredible value for the price. The customer service was as excellent as ever, adding to the overall experience. I highly recommend stopping by for a delicious and cozy meal that won't break the bank. Five stars all the way

Grew up going to Benny’s big star with my grandparents & it still has the same friendly atmosphere! Love how clean and orderly they keep the store and the plate lunches are always delicious!

I love to make fajitas but this grocery store never has fresh jalapeños or corn tortillas.i wasted time coming here because they didn't have any at all.

Damm. There food is so yummy. It's Seasoned just right, The Customer serivce is on point, The Store is clean and has friendly people. Definitely gotta get you a plate lunch. Umm god bless them woman @ benny's for being skilled at cooking some good good food.

Great local owned business. Meat and produce are always fresh, owner is personable and works with the crew like he's one of them, awesome specialty sausage (especially the chicken jalapeno and syrup sausage). Always a great experience and they carry lots of local seasonings, supporting other locals in the community.

Beautiful renovation. Extremely clean. Nice specialty meats and products and the owner even came over and introduced himself. Cashiers were quick and made sure you checked out fast. Aggressively priced.

I got a lunch today and let me tell you meatloaf was so peppered. So I took bite of my coleslaw with raisins had so much black pepper in it was horrible. Ok we surely tomatos, broccoli salad was peppered. You can add pepper if people want hot but, you can't take it out so beware the food is peppered! I'll keep my money in my pocket.

Great place to purchase meat; they carry ice cream & frozen desserts not found at Walmart.The Hot Lunch is good!

It’s always a pleasure when I’m in town visiting my Aunt to go to Benny’s - we used to call it Benny’s Big Star when we were younger and walk there . Mr Cook’s used to be on the corner !

Convenient small local grocery store that has a lot of what you need. They have good sales esp meat sales. Can't remember if they are on one Thursday of the month but they advertise the sale ahead of time. Friendly workers, and they also have hot breakfast until 9am and hot lunch until 4pm.

Great plate lunches, the corn bread dressing is a must try. Home cooked Creole food. Delicious jalapeno sausage cheese bread. They have good sales and the meat is fresh. Small local chain with great hidden finds. They also carry the ethnic seasoning I like. I've never had to wait long in line either.

Great and friendly service. Just a good all around local grocery store. I grew up in the town over and still go to the store to this day. They have amazing deals and even better fresh cooked food, they literally have almost everything you would find at a big grocery store just with a good old time vide. Clean store and great and friendly knowledge staff, i would highly highly recommended stopping by even if its out of your way you wont be disappointed.

Benny's Supermarket has some of the best employees, cause their so courtesy, they have the fresh produce, the best meat department I have ever seen in a store, what I truly love about them, they have a good sale everyday, especially for a person that's on a budget, if you shop there, you'll get your money's worth and some.

Came here for the first time for my patient , tried the bread pudding ....my life was forever changed....So moist , so butterie , the crust around the edges was so crispy........the little candy like pecan piece were a treat...... I'll differently be back....!!!!!

Love Jenny's when visiting Opelousas. Great huge fresh shrimp in help your self bin! Love the variety of seasonings and spices to load up before back to NJ.
