Took another trip to Midway, this time to eat at the Goose and Gander!! It was great! The food was amazing, I had the grilled pork chops with apple butter and a side of mashed potatoes with gravy and stewed apples. The Mrs had the fried chicken club and it was huge. The couple with us had the hot brown and the Goose cubano! When we return for another visit we will have to try the pizza, so many tables were enjoying the pizza selections!

This is a great little local specialty. One of my favorites. Midway is a fantastic place to visit for a trip through a Norman Rockwell painting. Goose and Gander fits right in. It would have 5 stars but the hours can be unpredictable. The food and service is always great. The liquor is high end so don't expect to be able to order a wild turkey shot. There is fabulous outdoor seating so come enjoy the sunshine when you can.Follow us for more great reviews™Parking: This is a small town with some free street parking but on a busy weekend you might be walking a bit.

Best fries I've ever had in my life! Perfectly crispy and well seasoned. The rest of the food was delicious also. I came with a large group and the service was excellent! My only advice would be to recover the tables - they are padded and the style of glasses they use tip very easily! Even though they warned us when we were seated someone in our group still accidentally spilled their water.

Nice lil quiet place. We just so happened to stumble across this restaurant while visiting the art fair in Midway Kentucky . Food and service was great. We both decided to try the angus cheeseburgers which were very good. One of the burgers still had steam coming from it and that was after it was halfway gone. Thats pretty impressive. I tried to capture that in one of the photos. :) Next time we will be trying the pizza.Parking: Parking was a lil tight

The Goose and Gander ... tough one. Right there for a 5 star rating, but don't charge me a $1 for a square cube of frozen water! This said, the food was good, the drinks (with the costly cube) we're needed and excellent. Got The Brown and it was delicious! Everyone enjoyed their meal and town was old, cute and had something for everyone.

First time going and we enjoyed it. They staff was very friendly and we had great service. Pricing was fair and the place was clean. We would definitely go again. Only downside to our visit was the key lime pie wasn't that great.

This is a cool old building! The look and atmosphere is what drew us in for lunch on Saturday, Sept. 25. We weren't thrilled with the corner seating they put us in but we made it work. We ordered our food. I ordered the Cod Fish Sandwich with fries and my husband ordered a bunless burger and potato salad. My fish sandwich w/the housmade tarter sauce was tasty however, I was shocked at how small of a piece of fish I received. It literally should have been half a sandwich. The fries were good. My husband's burger (ordered medium) looked really good. He said it tasted ok but couldn't finish it because it was cool and extremely rare. The potato salad was pretty flavorless. For a $30+ dollar lunch, we left hungry and disappointed. We would have told our server but we never saw her until we were ready to leave.

Fantastic pub in Midway, KY. Excellent pub food at reasonable prices in a charming small town that has railroad track down the middle main street. It looks like a movie set, but it is real. The atmosphere is friendly and the staff are great. There are several local beers on tap that are very appetizing. They have a fascinating glass chiller gadget at the bar that can freeze the top of your beer glass in about 8 seconds. The brussel sprout side dish is delicious. The outside patio in front of the pub is sufficiently secluded from the sidewalk to make you feel like you are in a private dining area. Also, there is good WiFi here.

Didn't actually eat anything here... was told by the bartender to sit anywhere. Place was not busy so we sat at a table (4 other tables had people). Literally sat there for 10 minutes and made solid eye contact with 3 people that worked there. Not one person acknowledged us. I shouldn't have to hunt down wait staff at a restaurant, when hospitality is their business. Went to Brown Barrell/Blind Harrys instead.

Had the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich with brussel sprouts the Chicken Parmesan was very good and I really liked the sauce on it and the Brussels sprouts were amazing! Only thing that could of made it better was a bit of balsamic vinegar maybe. But I am no chef!Husband had the Cuban with fries Cuban was a little dry but very good fries were lightly seasoned and quite tasty.Ashley our server was very polite we never wanted our waited for anything.Great service good atmosphere!

We visited the restaurant during homecoming for Midway University. The waitress didn’t pay much attention to us and didn’t come to the table unless we called her. I definitely felt a racist vibe from the entire staff (and I’m not one to play the race card), yes my party of 8 was African American and my son has a Caucasian girlfriend who they obviously had an issue with. They gave us the worst table and when I asked for another one the attitude started. The place was empty but it took forever to get our food. And the waitress actually had the nerve to say they had large tables she was tending too. Yes I walked around to see what tables and there were none. The food was less than mediocre. How don’t mess up salad 🤔.Overall review, don’t waste your moneyWe had 3 BLTS (dry and sauce was not it), 1 Salad with added grilled shrimp (shrimp was still raw, and the salad was messy on the plate), 1 fish sandwich and 1 chicken parmesan (cold, sauce tasted like it came from the can and nothing special). We actually had to go to the front to get our ticket and pay because the waitress NEVER came back.NEVER COMING BACK.

I liked this place. I had the beer cheese app and the meatloaf. Both were really good. No complaints about service or atmosphere. They also have a pretty well stocked bar if you are into that.

Food was good, but a little on the pricey side. Nice atmosphere to sit outside and dine when the weather is nice. We ate inside and dealt with flies the whole time, so it kind of defeated the purpose, might as well dined on the patio.

Overall I'd rate this experience a 3.5, but I'm rounding up to 4 because I think it could have been better. Our server, 22 Heather, was a bit inattentive and seemed more focused on talking to other staff than customers. Food was good, Brussels are really good. Cod sandwich had good flavor and the tarter sauce is good, but the fish was small; only about 60% of the bun size. Mozzarella sandwich was very good. Some menu items price didn't match the bill.

This is right on Main St in Midway, and it gives the whole bistro vibe. The food tantalized the senses, and the wait staff were so kind. Next time you are looking for a gourmet and summer lounge spot, pick Goose and Gander.

Cassey was fantastic ... she was the only waitress on staff and even though it took a little longer than normal to get our food, it was still a fantastic event. The Goose & Gander is still one of my favorite restaurants!Features: Very nice, relaxing time! Good food and friendly service. 😋

My in-laws were visiting from out of state, and someone had suggested a different restaurant for our day in Midland. The other place was closed, so a quick Google search, and I saw The Goose & Gander. A brief search of some of the reviews and pictures, well, we just had to try it. The food was so delicious and for the first time both my daughters (4 & 6) ate all their food. Our server was Grace, and she was kind, courteous, knowledgeable, and very friendly. She took wonderful care of our party of 6. The restaurant itself wasn't too packed at the time we arrived, but it was beginning to get busier as we were leaving. We will definitely be coming back!Kid-friendliness: They offered full sized crayons and had great options for kids. My 6 years old had the pasta and red sauce, while my 4 years old had a cheese pizza. Grace was incredibly sweet to our girls.

My wife and I ended up here because Napa Prime was closed and we were so pleasantly surprised! On rare occasion we get a night out so we are always cautious to pick only the best. I ordered the hot brown and it was a slightly modified, interesting take on a classic dish that was very well done. My wife ordered the pizza and got a side of the brussels to try them out. They Brussel sprouts were so delicious that I ordered an additional side of them and we ate two orders! The service was great, the staff was accommodating and friendly. We will be back!

The waiter said that the pizza is what they are known for. We went for the hot brown. It was delicious and my wife and I split it for lunch. Service was good and the food was also good. I could see into the kitchen from where I sat and what I could see looked clean.

This sweet little restaurant is in adorable downtown Midway. We took a break from shopping in all the cute places for our first Kentucky Hot Brown. They have a patio, but we wanted the AC inside. They were incredibly helpful, and the place was socially distanced for diners and very clean (late July 2020.) We loved our first Hot Brown experience. It was really tasty as well as beautiful on the plate.
