Nicole is a great groomer. No one else knows how to cut my Minny like she does. Michael the manager will bend over backwards to make sure a customer is happy. This is the best Petco location. The vet services are great too.

I’ve always had good experience since my lab was born in 2022 until this Sunday.My dog and I were in line to check in for bath and the receptionist or a groomer who was serving another customer yelled at us “ Step back”. She was so rude and had no respect. We just came in to the store and were approaching the line ( such a small space ) to check in. I couldn’t say anything at the time even though I was so embarrassed and my dog’s groomer came out of the desk and helped me to check in. I let my dog finished bath waiting for 3 hours ( longer than usual ). But I won’t go back to the PETCO anymore because my lab and I are scared to meet the most aggressive girl again.

The Petco on Shelbyville Rd. Was friendly, nice, and caring for the pets that came in for just to shop, health care, & clinic. In all, I was very pleased with how they took care of my dog and my mom's dog. For that much love and caring for the animals, 5 stars all around. Thank you, Petco, and to the ladies.

Went in to get a few new fish, guy that helped us was very professional and seemed to know good information about the fish we chose. Tanks always look clean and I've never had problems with fish from this Petco.

Spoke extensively with a guy in the fish department about a specific fish he said needed QT'd. Gave my name and number and asked for it to be held and to be notified when it was ready to be rehomed. None of this was done and the fish was sold to someone else even when he refused to sell it to me because it was 'sick'. Definitely not good practice and because of this, I will not be back.

They have a wide variety of pet supplies. I went there to find specialized food for my bearded dragon and I was throughly impressed by the wide variety of supplies for all animals. They store affiliate was super friendly and very helpful. I will definitely be stopping by this store more often.

We have a small energetic dog, that other groomers have required us to medicate prior to appointments. When we told Petco staff our dog was medicated, they refused to serve us and stated it was company policy that they will not cut or groom medicated dogs. Now we have a medicated shaggy dog and nowhere to take her today.The Petco website did not warn us of this policy in advance. I don’t care if you think it’s a good policy or not, there needs to be proper notice. Now we’ve medicated our dog for literally no reason and wasted our time taking her there this afternoon. I’d give zero stars if it were an option.

I was recently given a fish tank and stand. So, I went to Petco in Middletown to buy the other supplies I needed. I was greeted by a friendly person who quickly admitted she was not a fish expert. She chatted with me until someone who was a fish expert was free. I'm terrible with names and I wish I could remember, but the lady who then helped me was very knowledgable and helped me find almost everything I needed. She even suggested an item on Amazon (it wasn't sold at Petco), that would make my life easier. This store did not have the size canopy or light I needed as apparently it's a very unusual size, but no big deal. I went home, set up my tank, and the next day I went to the Petco location on Hurstbourne. I was again warmly greeted and talked to someone about the glass canopy and light I was trying to locate. It's not sold at Petco, but she gave some ideas of places to try. Again, really appreciated the helpful attitude that didn't feel like they only wanted to help if it was sold at their store. I went down the road to try PetSmart and the difference in customer service was stark. The PetSmart employee seemed bored and not interested in helping me, even though they DID sell the tank and stand I had as a kit that included the light and canopy. But, they don't sell them separately and he basically told me well, that sucks. Two days later, I contacted one of the places that was recommended to me by the team member at the Petco Hurstbourne location and they can order it for me! Petco didn't have every single thing I needed, but I will absolutely be a repeat customer based on the helpfulness and kindness of everyone I interacted with at both stores, from the cashiers, fish department, and other employees walking around the store.

Very clean and neat store, they offer services such as medical and grooming. They also have a wide variety name brand products and treats. They also have a litter bin to scoop your own car litter. Staff is very attentive and friendly.

The fish department is so good!!! The guy with long hair is always SO KNOWLEDGEABLE on all the fish in stock, super impressive for a chain store!! And they have some really cool weird species you usually don’t find in petcos elsewhere!! 10/10

I had a great experience with the trainer here! I have a 1.5 year old dog who was having trouble with anxiety, fearfulness, and reactivity to other people and dogs. I had been searching all over Louisville for a trainer to help. He had previously been in two "board and train" programs that promised the training would improve this behavior (for about $1,000 each as well), but they were absolute wastes of money. He was very smart and obedient in the house, so that type of training was not helpful at all and proved to be empty promises. I took him in for a private session with the trainer at this store, and she was a godsend! She understood exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. I ended up taking him in for 4 or 5 private sessions, and he is now the most well-adjusted dog I could've asked for. She helped me desensitize him to new people and places and teach him to be more comfortable in social situations using positive reinforcement techniques rather than choke collars and corrections. He used to growl at people and bark and lunge at other dogs, but now I can take him with me anywhere that dogs are allowed without worrying. We had absolutely amazing results because of this amazing trainer! Big thanks from Oakley and I!

We have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is a terror when it comes to stuffed animals. Once she's able to rip open a seam that stuffy isn't long for the world. Except for one specific toy. It's a stuff hedgehog that she's had for 7 months and is still in one piece. When we realized that we should have backup in cast Twinkle managed to maim this one a quick Google search told us they have one at this Petco location...and that it was on sale.About 20 minutes later we walked in and headed toward the stuffed animal section. We thought it'd a breeze to find a hedgehog, but NOOOOO. I never knew there were so many types of stuffed animals for pets! There are, easily, 4 rows of merchandise of the stuffed variety, some in colours that don't naturally occur in nature, but all fun.It took some searching, but we found the hedgehog we were looking for and another stuffed animal that had reinforced seams, which is probably going to give Twinkle more of a challenge than she expects. We noticed the price on the tag didn't reflect the sale price on the website, so we went to the cashier to check out. The cashier said that if we could show the sale price on their website on our cell phone that they would 100% honor the sale price.And so it was, that we only paid $3.00 for the hedgehog because of their nifty price-matching policy. We also got the reinforced raccoon (at least I *think* it was a raccoon) and got out of there spending just a little over $10. The very next week we needed to get Twinkle some dog food, so back to Petco it was!Both of the staff members we ran into were pleasant and helpful and, you could tell that they love what they do. And, let's be honest, working at a place like Petco, where people bring their pets in routinely, wouldn't be such a bad gig.

Amazingly clean store...smells great when you walk in. Very friendly and helpful staff. On a previous visit, I decided to start my cats on new food after realizing the amount of fillers in what I thought was a better brand of food. The associate helped me choose a higher quality food (OLD: Science Diet, NEW: Natural Balance). My cats love this new food and seem to digest it much better. One of them is 17 years old and runs around like a kitten!

I love going into this store, every single employee that I have ever came across has always been there for me, gave me helpful insight, etc. They helped me treat my fish for fin rot, it took a lot of trial and error but of course, they were there for me and guided me through the process to help my betta. To this day, my fish has had no issues with fin rot. I continue to seek assistance and shop at petco for all of my pet needs. Love this store! 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND!!! -Alivia Kelley
