Our cat required immediate care due to a sudden issue. The staff were incredibly friendly and understanding and fit us into the schedule to see the doctor right away. Doctor and staff showed great empathy, concern and friendliness at this tough time. Performed tests quickly and gave us medication which has helped our cat show significant improvements

This is by far one of the best veterinary places in Louisville. They treat your pets with kindness and compassion. They make it easy to get an appointment and the cost is reasonable. I refuse to take my boys anywhere else. Highly recommended!

We live right down the road and love how convenient and quick Barbour Lane is. We love Dr O’Grady and Dr. Townsend and everyone that works there is wonderful with our pups Vinny and Sophie. We were frequent flyers for a minute with one of our pups but they always work through whatever the health concern is!

We were in for a well exam and to update vaccinations(having relocated and needing to establish care here locally). They went out of there to accommodate my sick dog. After ultra sound discovered tumor on my 11yr old wiener dog. They are doing surgery on him on Friday to remove his spleen. They are doing all of this in 5 days time. My old vet would take 2 or 3 weeks to do this.Time is critical for this. You could not ask for a better response for my dogs problem.Hopefully his outcome will be positive. Could not ask for a better experience with this vet. Thank you Dr. O’Grady.

I like Dr. O’grady’s bedside manner with my cat, Samantha. Samantha does not seem too uncomfortable with being at the vet. She is quiet but alert of what is next. Dr. O’Grady answered all my questions of concern and gave me and my cat time. The technician was very gentle with my cat. It was a pleasant experience…I left feeling confident I am giving my cat a healthy life. Thank you! I truly haven’t left a vet office with that feeling.

efficient, through, caring.my girl had recently had her back leg repaired. 5 weeks after surgery she started yelling I’m out in pain when repositioning herself. I was really scared she had reinjured her surgery leg. I called, and they got us in the same day. The vet did detailed examination on all of her extremities & then took her to the lobby & watched her walk. He was able to determine that it was her front shoulder/leg that was injured, based on the upswing of her head before he placed the injured limp on the ground. He took the time to explain his finding to me. They did not attempt to upsale me anything. I was written scripts & the vet himself explained each medication to me & exactly when to give them & what to avoid while my girlie healed. The entire appointment maybe took around 15 minutes. There was no waiting in the lobby. It was a very nice change from the chain vets I typically find myself in. I’ll absolutely be returning.

We adopted our cat from a no kill cat sanctuary 3 1/2 years ago. While we have earned her trust, she trusts no other. Past Vet trips have always been very traumatic for her, me and the Vet. Past Vets have even refused to examine her due to her disposition. My recent experience with Dr. O’Grady at Barbour Lane Animal Hospital was absolutely wonderful. Dr. O’Grady and her Technician knew exactly how to handle my cat while conducting a thorough examination. Dr. O’Grady showed care and concern for my cat’s well being and was not intimated by her.
