I followed Rebecca from her former location when she left to open Rainbow Pet Salon. We love the treatment our dogs receive! The dogs look great and are quite proud of themselves after their “spa days”! I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for professional, kind and caring grooming for their pets!

I absolutely love Rainbow Pet!! They do such a fabulous job on my dogs, and I should know because I have eight dogs!! (Yes, two of them live with my daughter in New York, but even Lilly and Max get their hair done when my daughter comes home.) I drive all the way from Somerset to Lexington so our pups hair/nails can be beautiful!! I’ve had dogs my whole life, and I cannot say enough good things about Rainbow Pet!!!

My husband and I are pup-sitting and wanted to surprise my stepdaughter and her boyfriend when they return soon from a month-long trip out of the country by taking their little one-year-old bichon-poodle-mix to get her first proper grooming.While she is used to getting regular home washes, blowouts, brushing, and trims, she's never had a professional service. So I went online and called to find one that could fit us in and meet our pricing and service needs. Rainbow Pet Salon was reasonable, affordable, and accommodating.We arrived on time but were confused about the location at first. The sign on the building says Earth Dog, but it is the Rainbow Pet Salon. The address and information on the door matched the confirmation I received. Also, as of this writing, their website is not linked to their Google Business Profile. I've submitted a suggestion that they add it. The website has good information about pricing and policies, including how working times with dogs like ours (poodle, doodles, etc.) can be longer due to their coat types. Also, you are required to provide vaccination information.Kelcie was polite and attentive and explained how the entire process would go. We had the option to stay and watch or go and pick her up after. Given this was her first visit ever, we ended up staying, sitting in the car outside. The entire front face of the building is made up of windows so we can watch everything. The entrance doesn't have much of a waiting area. Per Kelcie, pups act up way more, like how toddlers get fussy - when the parents are within eye line. We watched the entire process and found the dog was way more cooperative in our seeming absence. For those nervous like us, needing peace of mind, I would trust leaving her there and picking her up next time.After two hours of washing, trimming, and brushing the copious amount of fluff, she emerged with an adorable, well-groomed, happy little dog. She was freshly washed, sans ~3lbs of fur, clipped and filed claws, and adorned with a cutesy Halloween-themed bandana she insisted on wearing for two days after.Kelcie gave us some excellent advice on what types of brushes to use on our little lady, given her coat type to prevent tangles.Ultimately, I was delighted with the service and professionalism the Rainbow Pet Salon provided. Our pup looks fantastic, and the stepdaughter liked the pictures. She says she'll likely put her on a grooming schedule with them moving forward.

I took my baby here to Kelcie and it was wonderful! We were trying a new place after a bad experience somewhere else. She took very great care of my boy and had a long conversation with me about the grooming process and everything I wanted. All of the staff in the building was very helpful and enthusiastic about making sure things were done correctly. I will definitely be back, and I can tell my pup had a good experience :)

I have brought all my fur babies to Rebecca and Madison (Owner/Groomer) for almost two years. I have always had a wonderful experience. I started with the two at their previous job before venturing to run their own business. I knew it would take them a few months to get their feet wet since that usually happens with being new owners in a new location, new software, new employees and first-time business owners. They do such a wonderful job. I have two golden retrievers who receive show cuts and both my Maine Coons have had to have mats removed and nails trimmed. No issues. Love this place 😍

We adopted our Aussie doodle, Luna, from a rehoming/rescue situation. Rainbow was able to get us in the day after calling about an appointment as she was extremely matted. We were so happy with the thoughtful care she received and that she was able to go home feeling so much better. Rainbow gave her a fresh start to becoming a happy and loved girl, we can’t wait to come back!

We had our initial meet last Wed and our 1st appointment yesterday and Kelsey was awesome! Our puppy is definitely skittish but Kelsey was able to groom her and make our girl as comfortable as possible. We have found our groomer!!

Regularly been coming here until now, advise you to stay away. Pet sitter picked my dog up with this cut covered in dried blood and still bleeding, groomer claimed they had “no idea” it happened and that it was not like this in “their care” despite my sitter texting me IMMEDIATELY from their parking lot. When I mentioned dried blood they suddenly tried to tell me he had a scab on him which he absolutely did not. When I mentioned he had a cyst that has ALWAYS been worked around the story changed to “the cyst must have ruptured” - instead of just apologizing for their mistake and saying they would do better next time. Did offer to take him to vet on their dime, but all I wanted was accountability for hurting someone’s dog, if you can’t admit to that can’t trust you with my dogs in your care. Simple phone call with a heads up would have sufficed. Clare was the groomer, super disappointed in this place since we thought we had finally found a decent one.

They do such a great job! We have a Goldendoodle named Poppy who be nervous around groomers. She handles the experience so well with Rainbow Pet Salon we will never go any place else. She comes home looking Immaculate and prances around so proud of herself. The experience is so wonderful we drive an hour each way to see the team at Rainbow Pet Salon.

Love this grooming salon and the owner. She’s really nice, professional and does a great job with my cat. Not a ton of good cat groomers around here so it was a blessing to find her. Pricing is reasonable and she is always on time and does a great job. Totally recommend!

We followed Miss Rebecca from where she previously did dog grooming prior to opening her own shop. We followed her to her new adventure because she always talked through the grooming process, offered to teach our children how to brush the pups so they don’t get matted in between grooming, and got us on a grooming schedule. Over the last couple of years, she has pointed out when she found worms on our new pup so we could get her treated and gave advice for our other pup regarding her allergies. Maggie and Luna love going to see Miss Rebecca and her team!

James always does an awesome job with my Pomeranian! I try to get her groomed monthly, and we take our other dogs in from time to time as well and always have a great experience. I trust them completely with my babies and am happy to say this is easily the best grooming salon in Lexington!

My sisters dog was cut so bad at this groomers he needed to be took to vet for stitches 2 weeks ago , we still are dealing with the effects of this groomers negligence and incompetence. Still Have not received a phone call or any communication from them at all except for the day it happened from them denying they done it , when it was clear from the clippers he was harmed . The fact we still are dealing with the injury and still no communication from this place . STAY AWAY ! We are thinking at this point seeking legal ,representation for the vet bills they should be responsible for at the very least . Photos of the injury are uploaded as well as photos that we are still dealing with now as well . Still no comment from them .we understand accidents happen but the only communication from them was denying it happened !! We picked him up he still had blood pouring . He had to have stitches !!! Clearly you can see this injury happened from the groomers clippers . I do not recommend this groomer .

I took my dog here for a bath and a nail trim. She has very short hair. The girl was very nice and she was done under 30 minutes. A complaint that I have is that I have never paid over 35. for this. $70.00 plus tip for 30 minutes of her time is way too expensive.I will NOT be back.

This is the only grooming salon in Lexington that I use and recommend to my friends and clients. They take the time needed to get to know your dog and tailor his or her visit to be exactly what they need. They have the skills to slowly work with anxious or fearful dogs and never rush just to get the job done. They make sure the dog is comfortable and not stressed all while completing beautiful grooms and perfectly executed nail trims/baths and providing each owner with great customer service.Earth Dog Spa & Apawthecary also has a great selection of holistic shampoos, conditioners, and other grooming products. They would never recommend a product that they do not trust. I also love that they are very involved in the community! You will often find them at various fundraisers and events that benefit the humane society and they host several donation drives and fundraisers for other organizations in town. They also take the time to show their appreciation towards their clients by hosting the cutest Halloween costume contest in town!Janel and James are calm, patient, personable, and VERY good at what they do! I will be very sad if I ever leave Lexington because I will never find groomers like those at Earth Dog.

The best groomer in town! Finally found a groomer that listens to exactly what you'd like. We brought our 9 month old Shih Tzu and Janel listened and offered advice for the first groom. He came back looking amazing. It's the first time I've been to a groomer in KY that does exactly what they say they're going to do. I've been to multiple groomers that say "ok" and then return my dogs completely shaved down, etc. Not this place. Thank you Janel for taking the time with Sonny, I'm sure he was a handful. I've found my new grooming place and cannot recommend them enough!

My experience with these people was appalling. While I am the first to admit that technically, they did a really good job with my two Himalayan kitties, they were rude, gave us the wrong address (as you can see the Leestown address is not listed on their website) and then complained repeatedly that we were late arriving. They also complained when we were unable to pick them up immediately as this was in violation of some unstated policy. We had verified the $100 per cat charge before the owner went on vacation. They charged us $140.00 per cat, even though we questioned this. They were dishonest and abusive and we are reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

My dog required vet care after being groomed at Rainbow Pet Salon. He had no hair on his face, his ears were bleeding, he had strings of hair hanging from his ears and his tail looked like a lion. He was unrecognizable. I tried to discuss my concerns with the staff and was told to leave.

Due to a physical limitation, I am unable to continue cutting our dog's nails, and they were desperately needed. We called and Kelsey said she could fit us in. We arrived with four groomers busily at work. Less than five minutes later, Kelsey had our dog clipped. Definitely coming back.

Fantastic grooming salon. We have been really struggling to find a decent, reliable groomers since moving here a few months ago but Rainbow did not let us down. They took our very overgrown pup from messy to meticulous and followed our direction perfectly. We left with a very smart-looking, happy dog. Thank you to the team. We can’t wait bring Obi back!
