Shockingly bad condition. Dirty, smell was terrible, door lock was missing, mystery stains, oily sticky floor, generally very sketchy. The most disturbing thing was how the ceiling was crumbling and moldy but the woman who checked us in seemed so annoyed by our existence and we were so tired going to another hotel seemed like a lot of effort for a few hours. The breakfast was watered down flavorless coffee, toast and boiled eggs that tasted very odd and ended up in the trash immediately. The woman who checked us out early the next morning was nice. The other people were all pretty surly. Worst hotel we ever stayed in. I am shocked that choice hotel is not doing anything to improve conditions. The holiday inn across the street is great.

2 stars only because the girl at the front desk wasn't at fault and felt bad and was overwhelmed with other people. Crap room wasn't clean and we asked for bedding to just be able to have a place to sleep. Horrible rooms, supposed to be next to each other and were not. Someone needs to do something. My 7 year old left them a note. Also the pool isn't open even though they tell you it is when you make the reservation.

The rooms have not been updated per their sign. This place was disgusting. I had to stop due to weather otherwise I would've left as soon as I saw the room. For sure it hadn't been cleaned ever...it smelled horrible...no hot water and you could see outside around the door. Pretty sure this is a long term stay place for drug addicts!Safety: Definitely didn't feel safe staying here with the characters who were in the surrounding rooms.

Room was kind of small and an odd layout but was clean and very comfortable. I actually really liked it because it was different. Bed was great and nice big shower. Awesome pricing for what it is even on a Saturday night. We usually stay in Munfordville on our way home but they were booked up so this definitely worked in a pinch and we would stay again. Wasn't bad at all. The only blemish I noticed was the rat trap in plain site the next morning in the parking lot. But no critters or signs of critters in the room thank God lol.

This hotel is the worst place I have ever stayed in which includes staying in the worse places in the world after 32 years of military service. You cannot trust the staff or the asst manager to be truthful or upfront with any issues such as rhe hotel not having any hot water. We were never notified of that fact until the next morning when we tried to shower. Then they lied a out when the service would be fixed. Find another hotel before you ever stay at any quality inn! They didn't even offer to refund or reduce the charges after they moved us to a room that supposedly still had hot wTet but didn't. If I could give a negative rating I would. Will be talking to federal and state regulators about health violations and how they cleaned the hotel or breakfast food areas without hot water for three days.For the record we tried to check out each day only to be told plumbers were on-site and hot water would be established shortly but it never was

Front desk lady and maintenence guy was super nice but that's about as far as the niceness goes. The room had blood stained sheets and blankets. Poop was smeared all over the bathroom wall. TV had a remote for a completely different tv. Hot water in the shpwer wouldnt get nearly hot enough and the toilet had the wrong size toilet seat.. The front desk woman (who should get a raise for having to deal with housekeepings mess ups) came and brought new sheets and cleaned the poop up. Apparently housekeeping has had multiple complaints about not doing his job properly. Definitely not worth the price and Definitely not staying here again. Save your money and stay in cave city for less and a much nicer hotel.

I got a suite that was $81.00 way too much... the heat in one room did not work at all. The other heater ran all night and still did not get warm (59) when I got up.Went to take a shower and did not have any HOT water AT ALL.When I was leaving, I talked to the man at the desk, and he told me that the plumber was coming. So he knew that there was a problem.He said that the manager would call me, but it never happened.

Okay for the price. Breakfast and service was fine. Room was dirty and the pool is permanently closed it seems. Ladies at the desk were nice.Nearby activities: Caves.

It was an ok hotel. It was easy to find. I booked online and didn't have high expectations of the hotel, but it was for one night stay and was tired. The front desk was nice even though we were checking in late. She was very helpful. The room was clean. The toilet however kept running. My husband has to open the top and stop it everytime someone used it.

If I could give it 0 stars that’s what this experience held!! First things first when I entered my room the lights were flickering and wouldn’t stay on. The carpets were sticky and filthy to the point everyone had to put shoes on to walk to the bathroom. The bed was broken and sank to the floor. Then better yet the next day after I had already left and been home this place kept trying to charge my card over and over again and when I tried to call and say something about it the workers kept hanging up after I told them who I was !! Absolutely horrible experience do not recommend.

We stayed 2 nights. The first night was ok but the second night the Horse Cave police had to be called on 2 guys threatening to kick in a door. I was scared so bad that I couldn't sleep and my boyfriend threw up from his nerves.Rooms: The room was really nice.Safety: The first night I felt safe but not the second night but I wasn't going to lose my money and I didn't think the hotel would refund my money.

We stayed 5 days. Our room was clean and neat. The beds were comfy and the AC worked great. The filter was clean too. As someone who is very sensitive to mold, I had no issues here. Also, the jacuzzi tub in our room was also very clean and after several days of hiking in Mammoth Park, and exploring two other caves, I made good use of that tub.The only bad thing that, I noticed was the caulking in the bath. It could use some love.

Upon pulling into the parking lot, I thought that we had pulled into a rundown low-income apartment complex. People were sitting outside their rooms in lawn chairs, blasting music, yelling/hollering, smoking and drinking. Kids running around the parking lot like feral cats in heat - we had kids almost run into our truck as we were trying to find a parking spot.When we checked into our room, the couch was broken and would not pull out into a bed, the room spelled like an ash tray, the shower was disgusting and had hair on the walls and half of the lights did not work.I was aware that I would not be able to get refunded for that night but I tried to get refunded for the second night we booked - but she refused because there were rooms available and she wouldn't honor the refund because it was "our preference" on how the rooms and property should be. So, we just left (after paying $300+ for 2 nights) and went across the road to Holiday Inn Express - WHICH WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! -In conclusion - The atmosphere at the motel was one of truck-stop hookers, drunkenness, free-roaming unsupervised children, and just pure disgust. Do NOT stay here especially if you have kids, please!

Bed bugs. I killed a bed bug on my son's pillow! Then I was told it's just like mosquitoes and it's not a big deal. They weren't going to refund my money until I told them I was going to wake up everyone and tell them about the bed bugs. There also wasn't towels or a light in the bathroom and the carpets were damp, but... BED BUGS!!! Then we couldn't even shower because the water was cold. The owner didn't seem to care at all.

Outer appearance speaks for itself... the curtains at the main entrance are half hanging off the track, and just looks sketchy.Checked into our room, and we were on the upper level. There was an empty coke box outside the door, first red flag. Opened the door (which had a metal plate over the latch which led us to think the door had been kicked in at some point), the mattress had a very thin fitted sheet that showed stains underneath (super hygienic!) And the pillows were all stained with stained pillowcases. No hygienic covers on either the mattress or pillows.Carpet didn't appear to have been swept at all, room smelled clean! But just had a gut feeling about this place. Front desk was super friendly and helpful, but we were NOT comfortable staying there. Couldnt even bring myself to sit on the bed.....Seemed to draw a particular crowd that we do not want to get mixed in. We ended up going to Cave City and just eating the room fee as no refund was offered. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN!!!

I had booked a 2 night stay at the horse cave hotel and got check in and the TV was so dark u wouldn't even see it I called the front desk and was told someone would be to see about it but no one never come and then went to take a bath and no hot water so I called again and the girl said wait about a couple of hours and try it again so that what I did and still no hot water called the front desk again and this was like 9 pm and he said let me check the other rooms and see if they had hot water we'll he came to our room and said nobody had hot water so I told him I wanted my money back the nights I paid for and I will leave now he said ok he would do that then we got pack up and went to the front desk and he wouldn't give me all my money back but just for one night I will never stay there again and would not tell anyone to stay thereWho wants to stay at a hotel or motel with no hot water 💦And then don't have enough respect to give me my money backBad business DON'T STAY THERENot Happy at all

This hotel is THE WORST.Their was several ceiling tiles missing, the door had been kicked in several times before and was patched poorly. That night there were gun shots right outside my room in the middle of the night. I left...there was no way I was stay any longer.PLEASE, for your safety, DO NOT STAY HERE.I told the staff i would not stay any longer and they said they would refund me $60 for the day I hadn't stayed yet..but they would have to mail me a check and could NOT give me my cash payment back.I have called for the manager and the corporate "help" line (they are no help, all they do is say they will tell the hotel's manager to call me)7 messages later..The manager has NEVER call me back, and they NEVER refunded me for the unused night they said they would.They are thief's and you will not be safe here...

I can't even put a star here. First off there are ripped curtains in every room you past. The room we were in was fine till you got comfy and wanted to turn on the TV....the TV didn't work. Then we got to checking other things out. Wish we didn't. The fridge didn't work and neither did our phone lol. Then I had to go to the rest room omg gross. There was black mood on the ceiling and the floors were nasty. Even around the toilet...looked like it wasn't cleaned for awhile. So I had my husband call to the front desk with his cell phone lol. The front desk person was pleasant the first time we called and complained. They sent a maintenance man to our room. Took him over 2 hrs to find us a working TV then another 2 hrs to find us a working fridge. We called to the desk again to complain about the black mood. She hung up on us. Then we went to the front desk to tell her she was very rude and that she didn't need to cuss at us over the phone and then hang up. She than proceeded to cuss at me and my husband. Over all this place is a joke.

If i could give a zero i would. Didnt stay 10 minutes because the place is disgusting. We prepaid and they refused to refund us once we saw chicken bones on the stairway to our room, and passed several rooms with no covers on the a/c units. Not to mention the health dept had shut down their pool. We would sleep in our truck before sleeping in these filthy rooms. If you’re a junky with no sense of self worth, this is the place for you

Do not stay here. I don’t usually write reviews but I feel like it’s my duty to warn people about this place. There were ants crawling in one of the beds after the first night and no one came to change the sheets after we told the front desk, the floor was sticky and there were spills that hadn’t been cleaned, there wasn’t a door on one of the bathrooms, there were cracker crumbs and piles of bird droppings just outside the front door, no remotes for the tvs. It was truly something out of a horror movie. Bad smells and bad vibes from other guests. I’d stay away from everything in Horse Cave and go down the road to Cave City where there are better options.

Took an unexpected trip with husband found this motel and made reservation for one night stay. The room was nice, the only real issue that I had was that the carpet looked dirty it either needs to be cleaned or replaced I didn’t see any bugs and did smell or see any mold. I absolutely loved the jacuzzi tub but it needs some hand rails on it, seems a bit difficult to get in or out over all stay was nice.

First...you get what you pay for! BUT..we'd stay again!! The manager Nathan was an absolute doll! We got a smoking room.because mt husband is a smoker an lord you could tell it was. The bedding had burn holes the floors had burn holes. There was a few....things that definitely needing some REAL attention an professional fixing. The only thing we was disappointed in was the pool not being open..granted the weather was up an down but most definitely could have swam but no opportunity!

I sent this to the manager.The girl checking us in was nice, but we had several questions about local food and attractions and she wasn’t able to help or direct us to anyone. This would have been nice to have staff have some knowledge of places on that exit for eating and mammoth cave.We were given a room at the back. There was a garbage can right outside our room. Swarming with flies and massively overflowing with sacks of trash on the ground. This was still there when we checked out the next day.As soon as we went in there was a musty old odor as well as smoke. It was supposed to be non smoking.The carpet was filthy.Holes and stains throughout bedding. Thankfully no bedbugs that we saw.Bath/shower floor had stains and was gross. The “clean” towels we had in room were stained black.The worst part: Black Mold on the ceiling in the bathroom.I understand this wasn’t a 4 star hotel. But this was awful. The girl told us when we booked it was the last room. If we were able to book at another hotel we would’ve left. But we couldn’t.
