Today Mr. Fe, my sometimes difficult cat, and I went to see Dr. Wixsom and staff for his yearly physical. It was a very pleasant experience for both of us. Dr. Wixsom was very concerned about Fe and treated him with compassion. I was allowed to be with him for his entire visit and was able to have conversation with Dr. Wixsom and her staff, when we left I felt like all of my questions and concerns had been addressed. Friendly, knowledgeable staff! Very professional but also warm. Dr. Wixsom and the vet tech answered every question thoroughly and patiently. They provided many resources and information to get and keep our parrot healthy. They handled her well and minimized any fear my pet had ( and mine, as well!) We traveled about an hour and a half to be seen and we are very happy with our choice!

Took our dog to this vet today. The staff was very friendly, they were knowledgeable, and kept us updated on wait time. The animal center was big with lots of room and clean. The Veterinarian, Dr. Wixsom was very caring and answered all of our questions and concerns and truly cared for our dog. I highly recommend this vet for your loved furry family member. ✔️❤️🐾🐶👍😊

We have been using Doctor Wixsom and Guardian Animal for all our animals for well over 20 years. Best vet around. She always treats our dogs like they are her own and gives superb treatment. Our Dash was very sick last week and Doc figured out the problem quickly and saved his life. I can’t imagine trusting Dash’s care to anybody else.

My dog was to be boarded & spayed while there. Unbeknownst to me, she had a mass that had a very good chance of being cancerous. Even over the phone, it was well explained, options discussed & treatment decided upon. She got to stay longer than expected due to post op needs. I figured she would be so excited to see us & go home! When they brought her out, instead she tried to go back in with her new friends!I chose Dr. Wixom for her experience, constant training, and the fact that my animal is important to her & her staff. I love my dog & want the best possible care given to her. I know how passionate Guardian is about animals, and that means more than anything in choosing care for my pet.

I needed a Veterinarian to provide care to my 10 m/o Border Collie pup who is suffering from skin allergies. I have been to other vet clinics in the area over the years, and my experiences with them were not satisfactory when it came to the care of a beloved family member. I decided to make an appointment with Guardian hoping that I could get the care for my dog that he was needing AND to find a clinic where I felt like me and my doggo was respected and cared for. Aside from a small misunderstanding in the beginning, which was promptly remedied, I could not be more pleased and THANKFUL for the level of care and compassion that Dr. Wixsom and her staff has bestowed on me and my doggo! I was a nervous wreck for many reasons but my anxieties were relieved after I seen how the Doc and her Techs interacted with Bowie and quickly won over his trust in order to provide proper care! The staff really went above and beyond for me and Bowie and I am so grateful. The Dr and her staff were upfront and informative about the cost and effectiveness of each and every possible treatment with the goal of trying to work within your budget. Even before the exam begun, the tech asked me if I had a budget, this made me feel better knowing that they were willing to work with me if need be! I would recommend to friends and family. Guardian took my cats on as patients when other vets were turning us away because they weren’t accepting new patients. The entire staff has been amazing from day one of our experiences with them. They’ve answered every question, listened to every concern, calmed every fear I’ve had as a cat momma, and have always taken top-notch care of my fur kids. My family is grateful for Guardian!

Our little Mouse had many stays at Guardian Animal. It was Dr. Wixsom that discovered her CKD and asthma and put us on a treatment plan that helped give her a significantly better quality of life. They always went above and beyond to make sure she was progressing and that we were informed about her care. She was in the hospital for extended times on two separate occasions. Both times we were welcomed and told to visit with her as long as we liked so that she could feel a little more at home. When the time came that the treatments were no longer working and our little girl passed away, Dr. Wixsom and the staff made every effort to console and counsel us. We were given a small shadow box containing her paw prints in sand and a little snip of her fur so that we would always have something there to remind us of all the good times we had with our girl. Thank you Dr Wixsom and all your staff for staying with us through every hill and valley in our girl’s treatment.

Dr. Wixsom is a knowledgeable, caring and thorough vet. We have brought our dogs here for several years and are very pleased with the care they receive. She is honest and provides all the information on what is going on with our dogs. When treatment is warranted, she explains it and makes sure we are well educated.We won’t take our dogs anywhere else! Thank you so much for taking excellent care of Doc, Rosie and Georgia🐾🐾🐾

Super sweet staff, and the kitties they have for adoption are always so cute and loving the work they do there is great, spacious and welcoming boarding for pets. Always treated nicely with the biggest smiles!☺️ my dog came back as happy as ever and well rested from his little vacation, they even gave him a cute little trim!❤️❤️

Hands down the best vet in the tristate!! They are all about the care of your pets. The staff are all very loving and not just with dogs and cats but birds, and reptiles and any exotics. They have a great selection of toys treats and foods at very reasonable prices. 10/10 I definitely recommend!! Thanks for all you all do for my pets!

This is where we first brought our "exotic pet" (mini pig) snuffles for initial check up, worked, and vaccinated. That was less then a year ago! So snuffles comes down with some kind of sickness and we reach out to GAC for an appt to help heal our sweet 🐷, they charge us $400 for "day admission" and then when it's our time to be called back the doctor/nurse are surprised to see a PIG?!?! So they turn us away no help at all!!!! The funny part of it is that this place was her only healthcare provider and she had been here several times; so I guess my question is HOW? DOD YOU READ HER FILE ON THE COMPUTER TO MAKE HER AN APPOINTMENT & FORGET TO LOOK AT HER SPECIES'?

I am so impressed with the care from Guardian Animal Medical Center. Our dog had leg swelling that was very concerning. They got us in the same day, were the KINDEST group of individuals and the thoroughness that was provided was off the charts. Every test was explained thoroughly and all questions were answered. After all of the tests and medication, the bill was so much less than expected. We will be switching vets to Dr. Wixsom and crew (and we live over 45 minutes away). I highly recommend them for any animal. Thank you guys!

These guys are great! My dog loves staying there when I'm out of town. She hurries in the door and walks away without a backward glance. And when I come back, she's glad to see me but in no hurry to leave. Dr. Wixsom was so wonderful when my previous dog had cancer and had to be put to sleep. She and her staff made the experience much easier for me. The staff is great and every problem my cat or dog experienced has been handled very professionally and with great results.

Literally the BEST animal clinic around. I’ve never met people so friendly & passionate about they animals they care for! Getting a new puppy is often very overwhelming at times, but with their puppy package they take the time to thoroughly explain & show how to give him the care he wants and needs! We are so thankful for Dr Wixsom and her caring staff. We had a very sick dog with several health conditions. They were wonderful for 10 years she cared for my little Buster. When it was time for us to say goodbye she had tears in her eyes because she loved him too. Now we have a new dog and I will never take a dog to another vet. Meet Yardstick and Ruler. Yardstick, the black and white kitten, earned his name because he has three feet. His left forearm was destroyed, gruesomely, when he had a very bad day as a stray kitten who crawled into a truck engine compartment for a warm place to sleep. Ruler, the charcoal kitten, was an abandoned starveling. Dr Wixsom and her staff took in the homeless kittens, and nursed them back to health. Yardstick took multiple surgeries to save his life and repair the damage. Dr Wixsom did so without an expectation of payment. They were strays, abandoned and unwanted. Now we are fortunate to call them both family. Two sweeter bubbas you couldn't wish for. All because Dr Wixsom and her staff couldn't just let them go.

I completely trust Doctor Wixsom and her staff with all my fur babies. I go to her for everything, annual exams and vaccines. I am thoroughly impressed with how she stays up on research and development to provide my pets with the most upto date and highest quality vaccinations and testing. Her skills as a surgeon are impeccable, my dog went home after being neutered as if nothing had happened. We trust her to care for fur babies when we're traveling and have complete confidence that her staff will do everything to make them comfortable, safe and happy.

Love love love Dr Wixcom and the crew at Guardian. I have taken my cats and dog there for past couple years. They are amazing! Dr is a brilliant surgeon, very caring and straightforward. Our Diesel dog went to guardian animal medical center. He was very sick but Dr. Wixsom and the staff did everything they could and more for our boy. He knew he was in good hands. When there was nothing more to do they made one of the hardest experiences as easy as possible. They did everything they could to comfort us and even sent us flowers. We are very thankful for everyone at guardian animal medical center and would definitely recommend.

Doctor Wixsom and her staff have been seeing our dogs for a few years now. We first started going there at the recommendation of our daughter, and we are thoroughly impressed with the commitment to patient care and being made to feel like our dogs matter. Dr. Wixsom is always straightforward and advocates for what she believes is best. We also enjoy Guardian’s commitment to staying up to date on changing medical information (we like her word’s of wisdom posts on Facebook) and helping the local wildlife in our town. Dr. Wixsom and her staff saved our dogs life. Our dog had a bowel obstruction and required surgery the same day and Dr Wixsom and her staff completed the surgery and now our dog is back home with us. I have owned lots of different kinds of animals and have been to several different veterinarians and Dr. Wixsom is definitely the most knowledgeable I have ever seen. I will never go anywhere but Guardian from now on.

The absolute worst experience I have ever had in my life with a veterinarian. They might be fine for cats/dogs but I absolutely would not recommend taking small animals/exotics here. The vet was rude and berated me for administering pain medicine (ibuprofen) to my rat prior to the visit because it’s “toxic” to them even though ibuprofen is very commonly used for rats and was dosed for him by another vet. The vet handled my rat roughly even though he was injured and while he was screaming kept telling us that he just “doesn’t like to be touched”. He has never had any issues being handled by any other person or vet regardless of being sick/injured. The vet was full of snide comments and was very rude to me because I was crying after hearing my baby scream out in pain. Also notice how I haven’t mentioned her name? She never even introduced herself to us. As soon as she walked into the exam room she was rude and full of snide comments. Please save yourselves and your fur babies the heart ache and pain and go to another vet in the tristate.

I have a dog who has extreme anxiety the vet I use to go to would not board him and thought him to be aggressive . Thank God for Guardian animal clinic they diagnosed his anxiety and gave him the care and meds needed to help him . So now we have a place where when go out of town to board him knowing he is cared for .❤️❤️
