My elderly baby dog was mauled by another dog last summer, and the doctors and staff at Westgate got us in quickly and treated us both kindly and fairly. They are not only affordable, but thorough and direct. Earlier this month it was apparent that her time had come to cross the rainbow bridge. I cannot express to you how grateful I am that they were there to assist us, but were so humane, caring, and patient even though we were the last clients of the day. I picked up her remains yesterday. One of the wonderful techs brought her out to me, and presented me with not only her ashes in a beautiful box, but they had also taken a stamped imprint of her paws and her snout. Again, they were so kind as I broke into sobs. Westgate has my gratitude, and my recommendation for anyone seeking great care for their beloved pets.

Dr. Denton (founder of Westgate) seems to hire extremely kind and competent people. For example, Madison -- administering Laser Therapy for my dog Lion - noticed that Lion was nervous going into a room for treatment. She asked me to lead Lion to this treatment room where he would receive the therapy. That kind of attention and care is really a big part of any treatment and service!!

My dog had his ears cropped on Friday… 3 days later the stitches came out and they refused to fix it… when I asked for them to restitch, they were very unprofessional and told me no, that it would heal if I took care of it and that I didn’t know anything about it and how I should just listen to what he says because he’s being doing it for 57 years. Will never go back

I came in on their walk-in day on Saturday. (come early to get a spot on the list!) This was my first time taking my cat here. My cat had been limping. Not only did the vet spend plenty of time looking over my cat's injury, she also trimmed her nails, checked her teeth, and gave me advice on my cat's weight and eating. She quickly assured me the injury was minor and told me what to do in the coming weeks. I greatly appreciate this vet as well as her staff. A wonderful experience that gave me peace of mind (and all of those services and medicine) for only $70! I will be using this vet from here on out!

Would've rated 0 if I could absolutely horrible experience with one of our Cane Corsos. They said the ears were supposed to be stitched this incredibly loose I've had crops done before nothing like this has ever happened. After 2 weeks of not healing due to their technique of sutures I had to go get his ears fixed by someone. They healed perfectly in about a week of being properly stitched.

Westgate animal hospital has been my main vet for 8 years. Dr don Denton is seriously deciated to his job and truly cares for our pets. Appointments are necessary. But theydo offer a walk in clinic on Saturdays after hours emergency services, fair and resonable prices. I have been very satisfied with this business. Love docs work ethic. I think he has been in business for 56 years. How many people can say that.? Thanks doc.

Dr. Debra Shoulders is so good with my 13-year-old cat, Miss Priss. She is thorough and knowledgeable, but she doesn't push for a particular solution and gives me all the options for treatment. She understands the needs of senior cats.

I am blown away by the kindness of the Dr. Denton and his staff. We are from Pittsburgh, PA, and were traveling to Memphis when my Frenchie started coughing/gagging after eating kibble and developing an irritation in his throat. It was obvious he needed to be seen, so we got off of the highway and Googled vet's offices and they were the one of the few still open. They graciously agreed to see him despite being very close to closing time. I will be forever grateful for their kindness to us and my baby boy. He received the meds he needed and we can continue on to our destination. If could give them 20 stars I would. Thank you all so much for your kindness! You are all the absolute best!

Dr. Denton was there when my male cat had a urinary blockage. My cat was in terrible pain and I called at 5:30 a.m. and he was already in his office and told me to bring him right in. I did, and he removed the blockage within the hour! He recommended special food and Tommy came home and was fine. Dr. Don has been there for other emergencies too. Highly recommend! ♥️💜

We called around multiple places to get our little kitten Ruby seen. They were busy but she said bring her in! What a fantastic place, great service up front , excellent doc who was straight forward and kind. We just found our new vet ❤️

Dr is nice but office receptionist is reason why I've pulled all my pups from this practice. She will tell you that a test was never done. Then a month later you call and she threatening collections for the very test that she said was never done. Two when something is done they always collect money before you leave. Ridiculous. Just save receipts and check what she gives you.

We took two dogs and one our cats in for vaccinations and had a good experience. Dr Denton came outside and gave the dogs flu shots which made it much easier. We've been going there for over 30 years. Dr. Denton is a great veterinarian.

Dr.Denton is great although we still can't go in with our babys him personally came out and told me straight to the point what was wrong with my 6 year old Aussie boy. Arthritis poor pupper gave him a prescription and soft chews right there so I didn't have to go somewhere else. My pupper was a good boy we went to Starbucks and he got a pup cup. You can tell he was happy..

I have been here 3 times with my cat. This does not seem like a cat-friendly place. My cat has motion sickness and vomits, urintes, and deficates in her crate every time. When I asked about them cleaning her up they said they don't groom or give baths ... and if I wanted a paper towel. Then the waits on Saturday Walk In's are very long. I just left there this morning after waiting an hour and a half and they still have not called me. Their method is to sign in and have you wait in your car. I got there before they were open to a full parking lot. My cat laid in her mess for 1.5 hrs before I went home and cleaned her up. It's 2 hrs later and they have yet to call for me to come in. I will not be going back.Side note: I had emailed them my cat's records from previous vet with vaccinations. Last time I was there I asked about when she was due, they failed to put her vaccinations into their records and didn't even make an appointment to get her caught up. I will be going back to the other vet. More expensive, further drive, but MUCH better service and care.

Westgate Vet is our preferred vet in the area. They are very friendly, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. A vet doesn’t have to cost as much as a car payment every time you visit, and Westgate is one of those.

The staff are really nice and so helpful!we took our pup to be seen over a nail that had been pulled out and was told it would be a 45 dollar office visit charge,but after seeing Dr Denton,who also clipped my pups nails,I was only charged the 13 dollar nail clipping fee.They are so understanding about not having a whole lot of money and knew my dog needed to be seen.i will not take my animals to any other vet! highly recommend their services!

Owner is older and set in his ways but knowledgeable and will do everything he can for ur pet. Rates are very forgiven in a crisis emergency situation. Will work with you. We will definitely go back. Although Vet was very rude several times and gave mean ugly looks. He takes everything you say wrong and is defensive quickly. We were exhausted and he was the 3rd vet we had seen in less than 12 hour period traveling all night even to Nashville. So we overlooked his rudeness in hopes our baby boy would receive the dire care he needed. Which thank you Westgate for helping him and possibly saving his life. We are forever grateful.

The veterinarian, Dr Denton is old and very set in his ways. Very condescending, raises his voice anytime you ask a question. I went to as a recommendation and waited 2 weeks from the time I called for an appointment. When I arrived for the appointment, I was told he was running behind due to an emergency. I would’ve been fine waiting 15 minutes, it was closer to 40 minutes. I understand an emergency if you have another veterinarian on staff to handle it while another veterinarian tends to appointments already set. By the time we were called back to the filthy exam room, the Dr had no patience, raised his voice talking over me as I asked questions and was very condescending. Hands down, the WORST experience I’ve had with a veterinarian. To make my experience worse I was checking out, the front desk lady seemed to be asking Dr Denton a question about my visit and was immediately screamed at for it. I asked her if he at least answered her question, she replied yes, just needed him to clarify for notes about the visit. It came off as if his behavior was common occurrence.At this point, I’m wondering what kind of hospital is this? I left not only upset with how Dr Denton treated me as customer but also feeling sorry for the people working for him. I was sure to grab his card before I left to share my experience with Dr Don Denton.I will not be going back to him and will be sure to share my personal experience with all of my friends and family.
