The Taleless Dog is a fantastic local bookstore with owners who really care about supporting and connecting with their local community. Along with a great selection of books (of course!), in the bookstore you can also browse unique, local art, fun socks and greeting cards, amazing mugs in several colors, games & puzzles, Blackwing pencils, and more! It’s a nice local spot to stop by and browse, and make sure to keep an eye out (or sign up for their newsletter!) for upcoming events.One of my favorite events at the bookstore last year was a combined event with the local hospice organization, hosting an art exhibit in the space for an local man who was in hospice and had all kinds of amazing artwork that he had never been able to share with others in a public setting like that. It was just amazing to see how the community turned out to support the event, and I appreciated the bookstore’s owners Susan and Clark offering to host the event in their space- it was a perfect night! The outside courtyard space is also so picturesque with lights hung across, and especially in nice weather it can be a lovely spot to sit and read at one of the tables & maybe sip some local coffee.Oh, and one final perk of visiting the store is that pretty often, you’ll get to see the super sweet gray tail-less cat Nora just hanging out around the bookstore somewhere… and if you’re lucky, she might even let ya sneak a little ear scratch, or pet her for a minute, too. :)

This amazing little local bookstore is tucked away in a magical corner of downtown Berea. Even before I walked inside, I could tell it was going to be an amazing visit! They had the exact book I was looking for, but I was impressed by their collection of local Kentucky authors! Some of the books were even signed! (Note to self: must go back and purchase these!) They also had other items such as puzzles, tote bags, journals, even socks! The particular day I went in, there was even an artist working on pieces, so that was an added bonus. The staff were super nice, too! This has definitely become my favorite local bookstore and I will absolutely be back!

Fantastic local bookstore!I ordered some books a few weeks ago, they came in pretty fast and I was notified right away. Their selection is fantastic as well, I've found some books here I've not seen in larger stores.If you're looking for something specific try here, and if they don't have it I'd encourage you to ask about it!

My daughter (5 y/o) and I love this little book hideaway. As new transplants to the area this last year, one of our top priorities was finding a local bookstore that we could go and splurge a little extra money on. The owner is so friendly and always greets us with a smile. For such a small location, the stock is pretty varied and has a great variety of new/top sellers as well as ones that you’ve been eyeing for a while but haven’t purchased yet. Nora (the store’s feline companion) is also perfect and friendly.I’m glad we found the place; and will return over and over again!

Great shop I saw popular titles in several different genres including kids. I bought a fun journal prompt book.Location was good. On a nice day I was able to walk to several different shops and get lunch nearby.The cat was catching some rays in the sun and seemed to enjoy the visitors. I will be back

A charming place that I would go out of my way to return to! Owners had brownies for folks when we were in. Just the right amount of care; I felt taken care of without them hovering. A lot of great selections both regional and beyond. Fun accessories and doohickeys. A cat! Lots of couches and chairs too.

Dive into this vibrant Literature and Story-telling world by visiting The Taleless Dog Bookstore! I was amazed by the variety of fiction and non-fiction books available for purchase. There are also exciting books for children such as 'The Wonders of the Universe' - a colorfully illustrated book that is sure to spark your child's vivid imagination. The colors inside the Taleless Dog Bookstore are also very cozy almost inviting you to take a sip of coffee. A must visit!

Recently expanded, The Taleless Dog is the perfect spot to browse new releases, great classics, and beautiful regional reads. While the selection isn’t the same size as a major retailer, it’s the perfect size to find a book for any reader. It’s also in a great location to eat at a local restaurant and shop local crafted goods in Berea. If you’re a fan of books, independent bookstores, small towns, crafted goods, or just having a good, relaxing time, put The Taleless Dog on your list.

This place is small but that is what makes it great, in my opinion. They have all the books you’ll ever need and if they don’t, make sure to get them to order it for you and support your local bookstore. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and will help you pick out a book! I was also happy to see various political and spiritual/religious books, not focusing on one religion or political affiliation in particular. We need all view points and I’m glad they understand that here! The only thing I’d change is more YA books because it’s typically my favorite genre. 😄

Awesome cozy bookstore! They were celebrating their 1 year anniversary today and had a small sale and wheel to spin if you purchased a certain amount. Staff today were very kind and they aren't pushy with the merchandise or with customers.
