I literally had to come home and right this review right away because I’m SO happy with how everything went here! My wiener dog Oakley is paralyzed from the waist down, and this made it really hard to find a groomer. I actually got a few nasty responses from some local groomers in town. Here, though, they were totally receptive and willing to deal with the extra work that Oakley is. Obviously, his cut looks SO CUTE and when I got home, I found a PRINTED PHOTO of him after his cut with a magnet that I can put on the fridge! Talk about an added AMAZING touch! I was like totally floored. The girl’s name was Alexis and she listened to everything I said, and made a few special touches on his grooming to help my care for Oakley SO much easier. Obsessed! Thank you!

Took my puppy here! I love how sweet the staff is with my dog, I can tell they genuinely love taking care of their customers. I loved the bag they sent home with Strudel’s report card letting me know how she did. Answered all my questions and reassured me on everything. Paying online before pickup was also amazing!

I wish I could give them ten stars. Truly cannot recommend them enough! My German Shepherd doesn’t like to get his nails trimmed but the entire staff was so amazing with him and treated him so well. They were very patient and did a great job. You can tell that all of the staff will treat your pets just like their own. Highly recommend!

The people here work very well together. The people truly care for the fur babies. They do a very good job trimming our fur baby. They usually give our girl a very pretty bow on her leash. Sometimes they even take a picture of her in a outfit for Halloween or Christmas time. She loves going there. I guess the only thing that is a con is the price keeps going up for the grooming.

The girls here are incredible! They treated my big boy with such love and kindness, he looks amazing, and smells fantastic. He was happy and relaxed when I picked him up, and I could tell he had been loved on through the whole process. It's obvious that the girls here are true professionals at the top of their game. There is no better place to take your fur baby.

I recently brought my beloved Brittany TJ to The Hairy Sofa to be groomed before his ki bupcoming major surgery. As I've always bathed him at home much to his chagrin each and everytime. Oh, how he loves our pond water, our creek water and any number of water elements he can find, but a bath by his mama is a major undertaking. Since he's older and not wanting to stress him out, my daughter-in-law suggested we call The Hairy Sofa where she took their Lab, and now the wild child Labradoodle. They were so kind when I explained what TJ was going to have to go through in a matter of days. I even got my days mixed up and came two days early, they said no problem and would groom him ASAP. He's never been left anywhere except with his Dr/Vet. They were so kind, gentle and loving to him. And the grooming was incredible!! These groomer's, these ladies are lovely. I can't put into words how grateful I am that they took the time to treat him with dignity as he's going on 12 years old, and knew how to calm a worried mom. This place has such a calming aura that my TJ laid down at my feet and not once tried to check out any other furbaby. God bless each of you...❤🐾❤🐾❤🐾

My good boys do enjoy coming here. My GSD visits more frequently due to the fact he believes he is still a puppy. This is a quality place and very caring about the animals. Fantastic with how my furry friends are treated and I feel reasonable especially when dealing with my GSD who won't still at all.

Excellent. Sydney did an excellent haircut. My Murphy came if with mats under his arms, belly and hind quarters and she was very patient with him, talked to him and lived him the whole time. Very nice establishment and the whole team including the manager made us feel so comfortable.

They’re all incredibly friendly. I stumbled into this place walking my dog downtown one day. They were attentive when I told them that Molly, my dog, gets extremely nervous around new people. This is the first time that Molly has left her appointment without shaking with fear! I’ll never go anywhere else again. Thank you all for treating Molly like one of your own!

Great groomer! We've had multiple ones around town, this one definitely isn't anywhere near the closest to us but the drive is well worth it. We've had one of our dogs get his ear clipped by a different groomer pretty bad and they didn't say anything about it. The Hairy Sofa just barely nicked my other dogs ear but told me about it and showed me. I know that dogs can get wild and know that mistakes can be made, I just want my groomer to be honest and open with me.

They do an excellent job as far as the actual grooming. My dogs looked great. However, the up-charges are ridiculous. It’s extra to round the nails, extra if there is any matting, etc. Now let me explain my situation. Knowing the constant attempt at up-charging, I spent 1.5 hours yesterday brushing through my dog’s fur. There was significant matting in his very curly fur along the back of his front legs and into his armpits. I worked and worked and got the mats out. I even cut some out so that I wouldn’t hurt him. I then brushed through the entire rest of his body to make sure he was easy to groom. Keep in mind, I have groomed goldendoodles many times myself over the past 10 years. Before dropping him off I did notice that there was one mat near his rear end but didn’t figure that would be a problem since a sanitary cut would involve shaving that area anyway. Very soon after my husband brought him in, she touched the dogs “chest and hindquarters” and informed him that there would be an additional charge. $109 total charge for a goldendoodle groom. I have him scheduled at The Royal Heir grooming boutique for his next appointment. Rounding the nails (filing them) is included with a complete groom. The charge is $54. This makes me sad. While they are always very friendly and my dogs love this place, I can not continue to go there never knowing what the price is going to be.

The first time Hairy Sofa groomed Bear, I gave them a great review here. I tend to give good reviews. But I have to withdraw that review and advise you to never take a challenging dog to this company. Here is my original review, which I now retract: "My (rescue) Great Pyrenees, Bear, has a little PTSD and is very afraid of slick floors. The women at Hairy Sofa were gentle and patient with him and he was totally mellow when I came to pick him up. I get him groomed once a year when we need to get rid of his winter undercoat, and it is a DIFFICULT grooming, but they always do amazing things with his coat. I highly recommend Hairy Sofa pet grooming boutique." I must retract this review because this month I took him in for his appointment to get his undercoat groomed out, and when I walked in the door with him the woman at the desk refused to serve us. Yes, she simply refused to groom him. She took one look at him and claimed he had mats and said that they don't groom dogs with mats, they shave them. First, he didn't have mats, he has a double coat with a huge layer of soft cottony fur that needs to be groomed out in the summer. If she understood the breed, she would have known this. Second, people who understand Pyrs and Bernese Mountain Dogs (for example) understand that they should not be shaved. She worked at the front desk, and I do not know if she is even a groomer. He is now scheduled for Royal Hairs and I spent some time on the phone with the owner/manager there explaining about Bear. She says that she understands his coat and will be happy to take care of him. I tipped the groomers at Hairy Sofa well the two times Bear was there; and I do not mind paying for the extra time his coat requires. What I do mind is an ignorant front desk person who refuses service out of that ignorance. If you have a simple grooming, I think they would be fine. If you have a challenging grooming, do NOT GO THERE. They should be ashamed for how they treated us.

They are wonderful with my dog. She does not like going to the groomers but they won her over and she goes willingly now.She also looks and feels great when done. Worth every penny.

"Shout Out to Courtnee" she and the ladies at Hairy Sofa take the time to make the experience a good one for the dogs. I have had or Rocky has had not so good experiences with groomers to where he cant walk the next day. With hairy sofa he's happy and can walk the next day. he is older with a bad back so we are happy with this grooming boutique. it is worth the drive. Thank You Courtee Merry Christmas ! Cindy Martin
