This is basically a portal to yesteryear. I just love these types of shops that keep things small and simple. They have a little bit of everything. Deli, sandwiches, pie, candy, souvenirs, route 66 items, plants, seeds, grocery items, fountain and bottles sodas, and much more. Very friendly. A great 66 stop. I especially love all the knickknacks they have accumulated through the years, it's a little mini museum. Just stop in, you won't be disappointed.

I've wanted to stop at this store for a long time. Its unique focus on "Route 66" memorabilia is unique.I bought some bedding plants (tomatoes, rose moss, and sweet William). Great vibe.

Stopped here for a little picnic deli style sandwich & found it to be very charming. The sandwich was delicious & fairly priced. Plenty of Route 66 souvenirs along with the general store. Worth the stop for sure.

Drove by this place several times, and finally stopped in to see what it was all about. The lady working that night was very nice and I really wanted to try one of the deli sandwiches, but had dinner recently. I plan to stop in very soon to get a deli sandwich and try the fountain drinks, as I heard they go a little easy on the syrup.The opinions stated here are my own and not provided to me by the owner/operator of this establishment. Great little shop. Good selection of postcards and quite a delicious pastrami sandwich. My ADD went crazy looking at all of the memorabilia on the shelves above the stock.

Nelson's Old Riverton Store is a really great place. It takes you back in time. It's a small grocery store that has a room off to the side that has all kinds of route 66 memorabilia, they sell plants and flowers that they grow them selves. What they're known for is their sandwiches. You can get really great sandwiches that you choose what's on it and you can get baked beans or potato salad and a drink as well. My husband and daughter love the pastrami and i like 1/2 ham and 1/2 turky. You can mix and match meat and cheeses it's great.

Nothing beats a sandwich from the Old Riverton Store. This place is classic. It's a great place to stop for a quick bite to eat if you're driving through. They have all sorts of odds and ends stuff. Great options for classic candy, and my favorite soda. And be sure to grab a Route 66 souvenir on your way out!

Fun homey little lunch spot!!! Fanistil Party ham on sourdough. Yum! Black pepper chips And a Black Cherry soda. Nice outdoor seating and a cute Route 66 store. Get salt and pepper on your sandwich!!!

Stumbled upon what looked like a cool little historic store. Me and my friends wanted to try the sandwiches, because of all the good reviews. When we walked in the man working was busy taking a personal call, did not greet us. We were walking around checking everything out quietly, when he finished his phone call he made a very rude remark about "none of us conversing with him". Was excited to read some of the cool information about Galena here and try the food but his service made us leave. Sadly we won't be returning.

Sadly but not sorry, I won't be returning. My friends and I came across this neat little store on our journey home. I had read about this place and decided to pull in and check it out. Upon arrival, this was a little piece of history when walking in. The store was a little dirty...but overall neat and jam packed with antiques. Said Good Morning to the guy working and when I was looking around the man very rudely spoke to me... When I was nothing but polite. So very disappointed we weren't able to try the sandwiches. Strive for Better customer service.Kid-friendliness: Employee not too friendly. Don’t know if I’d want kids around him.

My roast beef sandwich was so fresh and yummy! I enjoyed the selection of Route 66 souvenirs. Parking was a bit challenging with my pickup truck and trailer, but I went around the block once and patience paid off.

Very interesting little store. Had a lot of everything. Got a great route 66 guidebook and map. Sandwiches looked good, we didn't eat them so I can't comment on taste, but they looked good. Lots of variety for the size of the shop.

I finally got to visit, very good veggie sandwich. If you don’t like pickles like I do, and don’t eat meat, get extra cheese. The shop has more than I imagined. The news paper clippings are all very interesting and factual to the area and Route 66. Probably a must see/stop for anyone traveling along the old interstate in the Missouri/Kansas/Oklahoma area.

They have the best sandwiches around. Just an old country hole in the wall but a fun place to be. You feel like your mom or dad is making your sandwich for you to go fishing or on a picnic. We frequent this place at least once a week! They treat us like we're family.
