My visit was pretty disappointing, I went to the store as I promised my daughter we would buy fish for her new aquarium. There was roughly around 10 customers, so not too crowded, I thought we would be in and out. It took forever to find a staff member to help us, the person that helped us was just walking around the store aimlessly, and was not helping any of the customers who were browsing. There was one staff member at the register, who had a line of about 5 people. When we finally got help we were advised they were not selling fish that day, because they were understaffed. Turns out there were only 2 staff members covering the entire store. I completely understand staffing issues and I could understand this logic if the store was swamped, but the team should have been able to assist the customers needing help instead of turning them away.

Cashier was very friendly and helpful with delevery purchase. Lots of animals but I wished they offered birds at this location like on Ward Parkway. .... Unless they were overlooked.

My first time taking my dog for grooming. She is short hair, so just needed a bath and nail trim. We have had the worst luck finding someone who can do a good nail trim. Morgan was our groomer and she did an amazing job with the nail trim! We are definitely going back!

I enjoy this location, its usually fairly slow so I can grab my dog treats and get out quicky. Also, we have purchased Betta fish from this location in the past and they have lived now for over a year. They also have some cool snails you can put in a betta tank to eat some of the algae. We were able to get a cool bright yellow one and an all black one. I also think their dog toys are really well made. We purchased this pumpkin 🎃 last Halloween and my super chewer still has it.

Poor communication in the grooming department. I had tried to take my dog twice but since he has anxiety and didn't cooperate they could not take him the first time. I understood and I agreed to bring him another date however nobody mentioned that the appointment was supposed to booked with the manager and I was told they could not groom him again. When I tried to explain that nobody told me I needed to schedule with the manager another employee who wasn't involved or knew the story yelled out that it was because I booked online, I think he should have focused on grooming the dog that he was working with since he was struggling.

We love boarding Walter here, he's always so happy and loves everyone there despite his separation anxieties. They know us by name and go out of their way to make us feel loved and special everytime, so we always drive in from Lawrence to make sure he gets to stay with you. Thank you guys!

Got my hammie here. Compared to small pet stores and other "big chain" pet stores they are my go to. They treat their animals with the utmost care. PetSmart gives their awaiting pets the proper enrichment they need. They have a great selection of toys, treats, food and more for every pet. And the staff that work there knows a ton about at least one pet. If a staff member doesn't know about a certain pet, they'll call over someone who is knowledgeable.

These folks gave my dog the worst haircut I ever seen in my life .. he went from fluffy and cute to one of the worlds ugliest dogs in the matter of 3 hours , they decided to give him a skin fade on his body but didn’t cut anything off his face leaving him looking like a naked mole rat. Never again will I ever allow them to cut our dogs hair and neither should you unless you want a terrible result. Our dog has had his hair cut a few times at a different location with no issues but for some odd reason this location claimed all 5lbs of our dog was the toughest dog she ever had to groom which is the reason his face hair was not trimmed.

PETSMART aisles are wide, well lighted and clearly marked overhead to find what you are looking for, for your Pet(s). Petsmart is located at 119th and Metcalf in Overland Park, KS. They have food and supplies for small animals like Lizards, Parakeets, maybe a small Parrot, Cats, Dogs and tiny Fish in tank aquariums, plus Bugs for the Lizards. Helpful staff. Weekly specials and good selection. PETSMART HAS: Independent VETERINARIAN SERVICES inside the store, APPOINTMENTS Needed. Few cats in a Small glass room, who are in locked cages are up for Adoption. Brought my dog in for grooming. We had his paws clipped. Once we had a chance to look at his paws some looked cut while other looked untouched. I use to like this location because they use have GREAT Techs that knew how to handle my dog and they provided great service. But those Techs are no longer at this location.

Since I refuse to go to Petco, PetSmart is what we visit. Their prices are decent but they don't always match up with online. I always seem to have a really tough time with online pickup also, no one can ever find my order. I think it's a staff training issue since I was able to go right over and find it myself. Regardless I appreciate the employees and their help. Will continue to visit here as needed.

that were kind and very accommodating as I had to come from topeka to have ahsoka seen once our Bayfield closed down. there's a pet hotel and day play there as well with trainers. a nice place, clean.they had my baby ready in an hour, everyone else always had her come in early and couldn't pick her up till end of day. i was impressed.

Adopted our bee rescue about 6 weeks ago and took him there after he had his vet check. Had fun picking out new collar, a new name tag, treats and toys for him and his new family at home! Staff made it fun. He's been a great blessing! Isn't he the cutest?

When my sweet, sweet puppy was dying due to a congenital heart disease at a year and a half old, the animal hospital doctor at Stanley Vet (do not go) told us to feed him a certain kind of special food. What they did not tell us is that it was prescription dog food, and thereby required a prescription to purchase. When I was checking out with the food at petsmart and they told me they could not sell it, I could not hold back the tears anymore and a nearby manager stepped in and allowed me to purchase 1 can. As it turns out that was all we needed, as our sweet Sully passed away soon after, but I will never forget that manager who clearly saw that I was going through something awful and stepped in and helped a fellow animal lover. This was in Oct 2018, and we now have a happy, healthy, 2 year old Maltipoo that is the light of our lives and we buy all our supplies and all of the things we spoil him with here.

I've been taking my dog, Harriet, to this Petsmart location since she was a puppy for grooming and baths. We've typically always had great experiences here. The last time we went, however, Harriet came home with broken, cracked, and somewhat bloody nails. Upon further inspection I could see that the outer layer of most of nails had been completely ripped off or broken, and it was clear her feet were in a lot of pain. It's been over a week and she's still incredibly sensitive with her feet and has become very protective of them. I totally understand that mistakes happen, but I would've appreciate the groomer letting me know that Harriet's nails had been kind of ruined during the grooming process. I don't know how long it would've taken me to notice had she not been acting weird.

I left DJ because I needed my King to be solo from start to finish and I will pick him up immediately. He hated being there for hrs! It drains him. He be Out of commission for the day. The ONLY reason I go to Petsmart is because of DJ. Had I known my appts with her could be modified due to my Kings needs, I would NOT have gone to Treats Unleashed. They were merely convenient, if I’m being honest. The quality of a cut with DJ is truly unmatched. And she is amazing with Kash. (I’m sure you thought your dog was the only one lol) My King Kash and I thank you DJ!!! Be blessed.

I've been going to PetSmart OP for grooming for years but after my interaction this morning, have decided to try somewhere more customer service oriented. I showed up 30 minutes early, bc it was the only few minutes this morning I could get away between work meetings, and the groomer refused to check us in. She said she was busy and we'd have to wait 30 min for our groomer. I told her I couldn't wait that long but she didn't make any attempt to find someone to help, even though I could see other employees in the back room so I cancelled. She made it clear the was fine with her. I'm looking forward to trying somewhere new that cares a bit more about customer experience.

My dog Avi got groomed on 05/31/18 at this location. Even though I showed Avi’s groomer (Damien) the tumors she has underneath her abdomen, he still ended up cutting one of them open. He said that it didn’t hurt Avi, but she was bleeding a lot and it wouldn't stop. On June 1st, I called corporate about the situation and they told me that they would have a manager contact me as soon as possible. The store manager ( Amanda) ended up calling me a few days after I called corporate and I told her about the grooming situation; I also sent her an email from the Olathe Animal Hospital (I would’ve went to their Bansfield Hospital, but the reviews were awful) with the surgery details/ cost for Avi to get her tumors removed. Her surgery on July 2nd ended up costing over $1,000 and after I emailed her the information for the surgery, she never got back in touch with me. I didn’t receive any form of communication with corporate either.
