Went in to find some fish, the gentlemen working was very knowledgeable and very freindly. I dont remember his name and i mean this in the best way, he looked like hippie santa. Customer traffic Was slow when I got there and we had a great conversation. For being a non franchise pet store it was very clean, organized, and the prices I thought were very fair. I Will be doing all of my local aquarium and supply shopping here from now on.

This pet store is not as large as petco or pet smart but it has a better selection of fish to choose from. Common tropical fish like the powder Blue Gourami in the photo are decently priced but other than very common fish the selection is a bit over priced. The tanks are all infested with Malaysian trumpet snails. They tend to know more about the fish than the big pet stores but don't spend as much time cleaning the tanks as a pet owner would. They do have some sales and items that you won't find in the big stores so they are worth checking out. But in my opinion fish are better purchased through online resources that have access to a wider variety and larger stock selection at better prices.

This store is beyond my expectations. As a beginner in the aquarium hobby myself, the helps and guidance offered by the store regarding plants, fish, and supplements suitable for my tank was greatly helpful. Before visiting this store, I didn’t know that a pet store can be this friendly and helpful. I am very glad to have this store in Manhattan, Kansas.The photo is a very healthy Anubias plant I purchased from the store.

They have very healthy fish, also the staff is very knowledgeable and give information accurately and if they don't know they will find out the information you are seeking. They also have supplies for other animals as well, just I shop for fish there.

This is THE local, friendly, family-owned fur-baby store in town. Or maybe the region. The owner is a kind, generous, community-minded individual. We don’t know each other all that well, but I’ve always had the utmost respect for him. On more than one occasion, I’ve caught him doing a good deed. The first time I went here was great. The owner was so very helpful and knowledgeable which is the only reason I returned. Apparently, if he is not there you get treated like a nuisance. I drove all the way there from JC, just to shop here instead of getting what I needed on Amazon. Won't happen again.

The owner is very friendly, helpful, and kind. I have been in numerous times and really want to support local business. When two young women are working - they were the same two that worked the event for Halloween - the service is excellent. They are always quick to help me and super friendly and welcoming. Excellent personalities and definitely influence me to continue visiting. I wish they could be cloned and be all the employees, because one is not good at customer service by any means. After interacting with her a few times, it is just her personality. Don't let this deter you, I'm happy I didn't, because there are a lot of great people here and the owner really cares. Fair prices, organized store. Good location. Has my business.

Sunflower is the best place in Manhattan for pet food and supplies! I have been shopping here regularly for the past year, and have walked out each time with a smile on my face. Today, I went in to get some new food for my cat, Bean, who is currently dealing with a food allergy. The two kind ladies at the front desk talked me through my concerns and helped me determine what food will be the best for the time being, and even gave me a free small bag of dry food for him to try out! I'll never shop anywhere else for pet supplies! Thanks Sunflower!

So today I stopped at the Shell for gas and noticed a Pet Store which had a gentleman with a cool tie dye t shirt loading his van later finding out he was taking product to another location. It ended up being the owner to the pet store. Wow I was so amazed by the friendly staff and most of all the Kindest Soul of an owner. I just said a few things about my dogs symptoms and he recommended some different products and of course I was willing to pay what ever the price would be if it help make my Pup feel better. We also shared the same interest in music which had me sold from the start. Shhh don't tell him.

We stopped in here while we were at K-State waiting on some results for our dog. We actually were looking for a birthday present for our cat.The girl working was so friendly and I loved the staff cats. I'm so glad we decided to stop here and support a local store rather than going to a chain store.

Great place to visit, very knowledgeable staff. Went there to buy stuff to set up a 30 gallon tank and every question I asked was answered correctly. Fish are well taken care of and staff cares about them. Very friendly. Prices are fair. Will be coming again!

I have purchased 2 fish from this shop. A Niger Trigger and a Powder Blue Tang. Both are very healthy and I’m very thankful they had these fish. The owner Mike is very knowledgeable about all the brands of food they carry. He only stocks high quality brands with reputable practices. His other employees also know a lot and all are friendly. This business has been excellent during the pandemic in their willingness to offer curbside pick-up and following the local mask mandate, making it not only a good place to shop, but also a safe place to shop! Mike has saved me from two urgent and distressing situations in the last year. When I had a leak in my old 85g aquarium, he jumped into action to help with my fish and find me the perfect replacement tank. And when my newly adopted puppy was having allergic reactions to every food I tried and the vet was charging me a fortune, he found her the perfect food (she's been doing great for over a year and I saved a ton of money). The staff here are always friendly and helpful, and it's obvious how much they care about my pets!

Great local pet store and worth the drive if you are not local. All staff genuinely cares about your pets from fur to scales. Plus, they are all incredibly knowledgeable. If they do not know something, they will not lie and make up stuff, but instead will work diligently to find you the answer or help you need. This store is an asset to pet owners of the community.

Fair pricing compared to big box stores and Amazon. But where they excel is customer service, they have helped me in emergency situations with my fish and saved me hundreds without trying to sell me products that won't work. Their aquarium selection is excellent and the vast array of products for all pets is second to none. Support your local small business at each chance, and this is certainly one.

This is an all around great place. They have a large selection of fish and other pet products, and they're always willing to help me figure stuff out. I have a large saltwater fishtank and two smaller freshwater tanks, and I go to Sunflower for all my supplies.Plus, there are a bunch of adorable kitties running around. Best sales associates ever.
