I bought a hand fed cockatiel on 5/9/22 for my Mom. The lady who sold him to me was very nice. The bird is amazingly friendly, happy and healthy. I’m glad we chose this pet store instead of driving to Topeka like we originally thought we would have to. I recommend this place to anyone.

It smelled so bad that I couldn’t get the smell out of my nose for hours after leaving. Disgusting and sad for the animals. The woman at the register was not friendly at all. Will not be going back there.

Personally I have had great experiences at That Critter Place, if there is something your looking for ask Darcy about it if she can get it in for you she will if she cant she let's you know right up front that's how she is. The store is always clean and she takes great care with the animals that she has available for sale. So with that being said all this bashing that's going on needs to stop certain people have moved on and she doesn't bash you .

How on earth could ANYONE give this place 5 stars? I went in and had to leave almost immediately by how truly terrible these animals were treated. We were going through great bend to Wichita and even though all of the bad reviews said don’t stop here, we were tired of driving and were excited. We stopped here and it was heart breaking. 8+ rodents shoved into tanks. 1/2 if the cage was covered in sleeping or dead animals and the other half was full of ones that were frantic trying to get out. They had no food, water or wheel. Six birds were shoved into a cage that was smaller than my book bag. I go over to the reptiles and I had to leave after seeing a tropical gecko had ONE plant to climb on and every single gecko was fighting over the safety of hiding in this truly wimpy plant. I then checked the humidity and it was at 30%. This animal needs 60% for their body to work longer than a week. I saw this poor tiny guy on the ground so skinny and helpless. He came up to the glass and interacted with me. He was shouting help to me. I wanted to save them all so bad but I couldn’t let myself spend a cent there because the owner would believe what she is doing is okay and I cannot stand by that. I immediately left and didn’t look at the other reptiles and animals. I was going to say something to the owner but she ducked behind to the back and we couldn’t find her. Please, don’t go here. Please.

Nice friendly place bought a scorpion, Not sure why, but I did. It's the only place in Great Bend. They don't have any fish. But over all it's an ok place.

I think maybe the previous 5-star ratings are because this is a rural area, and people aren't used to the kind of stores that are to be found in a city... Honestly, I shop here as little as possible. The lady is rude, the animals aren't taken care of as well as they should be, and prices are about below average-to-average. Small shop but decent selection of reptiles. I once bought a Maltese pup at this shop, and papers were supposed to have been sent from the breeder. 6 weeks later I came in and asked the lady about the papers, and she shrugged, said she could try to get a hold of the breeder, and said, "Other than that, I don't know what to tell ya." I think that kind of sums it up.

Very nice pet shop with lots of reptiles to buy and lots of accessories for cages and tanks. Also have cat and dog accessories and care products and the staff have good knowledge of pet care. Always have cute dogs up for sale for a reasonable price. Friendly staff and nice service.

I have been buying from That Critter Place since 2007, The owner is a well respected and nice person to be around, I have bought all my animals and stuff from That Critter Place, and will continue to do so, People like Ashely L. are idiots.

DIRTY!!!! Was very disappointed on how the animals health seemed. Rodents were dead in the cages, bleeding from their cage mates, one guinea pig seemed to have a broken leg. Puppies were smelly and sitting in diarrhea. Owner was rude. SAD for the animals there!!!
