I bought 2 lbs of skirt steak about 10 days ago. There was none in the display case and the butcher was kind enoughTo go in the back and cut some for me.I have been buying my meat fromUpper Cut in K C. Or from the primeSection of Costco ( both of which are excellent)The meat I boughtWas so tough it was basically inedible.I should have gone with some of the steaks in the display case which hadA nice marble appearanceI was hoping this would be my go to meat market since I live In LawrenceAnd KC is a much longer driveI am disappointed

Once you've had good meat, you will find it very hard to go back to chain store meat. They have everything from a pound of burger to a custom cut side of beef.

Always great service and high quality meats. They have cases full of whatever you’d want or they will cut anything to your liking. It’s my go to butcher. Love this place!

So I've started a small town meat market tour. Stever's is number#2. This is a great stop and very Bizzzy! I tried the Chorizo, the house Brat and the house Hot Dog, due to a referral. All were good but the shocker was the House Hot Dog. I mean who goes to a butcher shop to get a hotdog? I Sanoran'd it with house Bacon and cooked it at 275 on a pellet grill. Incredible! and I'm not much for Hot Dogs. Great staff, lot's of spices and sauces to choose from. I'll go back.

I went to the lake over Labor Day Weekend…decided to stop in and get some steaks to throw on the grill. I bought 4 ribeyes and THEY WERE AMAZING!! I got so many compliments and praise for bringing them! The gentleman behind the counter suggested them (I don’t know much about steaks 🤣) and I couldn’t have been happier. Very friendly service! Was in and out in 10 mins! Definitely going back!

Always great meat. I moved from desoto area to Omaha and I always bring a big cooler with me whenever I road-trip back to Kansas. My favorites are Bacon, thick pork chops, Tritip, and sirloin steaks. Nothing in Omaha comes close to the quality, variety, or price

We bought whole cow paid $160 for slaughter and small cow was they charged $900 and they asked $160 for slaughter we asked cut in small pieces no they didn’t cut in small pieces. We bought from Mike farmer. Not honest and way more expensive not recommend to any one.

I come here multiple times per week. The staff are always friendly and helpful and they have an amazing selection of meat! Their website shows more about their mission and sourcing of products if you're curious but they have the BEST products I've found! Our favorites are the chicken grillers and bacon/cheddar steak burgers!

A friend sold us a cow and had both his and ours provessed at Steve's. Most of our meat was very poor quality, the cuts didn't even look like normal cuts, some places on the meat was really dark and strange looking and it tasted strange. But I really got pissed when I took out a package marked sirloin steak and this is what it looked like! Yep that is a 1 1/2 X 5 inch bone, there is about 1 inch of meat on one side and 2 going down to 0 on the other side. Try feeding that to your family!

This place is awesome. They have anything and everything you need including pet food. I'll be going here for my Christmas rib roast because that meat look so tasty.Update: Got my Xmas rib roast with some proper handling and cooking tips. These folks rock! Been there several more times since then. I recommend their smoked pork chops.Update: great quality selection and some of the best cuts in the area. Even if you've got a custom request they should be able to fill it and at a great price

Bought a side of beef. Everything has a nasty gamey flavor. I can't even describe it, but my whole family is turned off by it. I also didn't get anything but basic cuts, which was disappointing. $1600 wasted. Definitely try before you buy. I wish I'd done that.

I've ordered probably 7 mystery boxes, 2 managers monthly in store specials, 2 steak packages and most recently 1/8 beef this week. I've always been very pleased with all of my packages for value and quality. Their beef especially has such a rich flavor! Great customer service every time. Stephen Jr. went out of his way this time!

Lots of great products to choose from. Fair price for the high quality beef I bought (ground chuck and KC Strips). Reminded me of when my grandad would butcher and the family ate his beef - very fresh! Beats supermarket beef any day!

Just found this meat market yesterday! Had the Country sausage this morning & it is wonderful. A hint of spicy peppers but not over powering. Went back today & bought 5 lbs of sausage. They ask how you want bulk items packaged. No having to redo when you get home. Also got 3 pork chops. They look like T-bone steaks. Can't wait to try them

I expect a Meat Market that specializes in meat to perform and Steve's Meat gets high marks when it comes to overall flavor/tenderness of their steaks. HOWEVER -- the butchers behind the case have so much attitude that I won't be back. I asked for a special cut of meat that needed prep -- to be specific - I called ahead and asked for a Beef Shank - trimmed and frenched. Made the arrangements and yet when I got to the store no prep had been done. When I asked about my order they all acted as if no one had called. Then - three butchers got together behind the counter and literally laughed / snickered / tried to act as if they didn't understand what I wanted. I will say the Hammer Shanks were VERY good and VERY impressive coming out of my Traeger tender and flavorful. Too bad. Attitude KILLS business in this place. They can keep their ego --- I'll go elsewhere.

Went to Steve's today and got 4 sirloin steaks. Cooked over a charcoal grill with hickory and cherry. When I took the first bite I thought it was the best most tender sirloin I've ever had. It was as tender as any t-bone from any grocery store. Once again a home run.Thank you for buying local beef . Absolutely delicious

Best steaks I have had in a long time. The display case was nearly bare, but that does not stop them. They will cut to order and the meat is great quality and the guy helping me even razzed me a bit... Was a fun and awesome experience with a great ending.

This place has quality meats, cool experience but unfortunately they ripped me off, top round beef jerky meat for $13 a pound is not great, sad but I won't be back

I have driven past for over 20 years. Today (day before thanksgiving) I decided we would go non traditional and picked up a very nice fresh T-bone and a few additional already frozen steaks. The parking lot was full and very busy but the employees ready and didn't wait very long at all. The ones I dealt with were very nice and while busy and almost holiday they did NOT have a "hurry we are busy" attitude. Very kind and helpful. Even after one answered a call about if open ON THANKSGIVING, we had to laugh about that. After I cook and eat will update with note about quality vs grocery store meats.

The meat I have purchased here has been of good quality and fresh. Reasonable prices. Frozen packages of hamburger are $1 per pound cheaper than fresh. They also sell frozen pies that are delicious. The blueberry is my favorite. Started going here to get the dog bones. That alone will keep me coming back! They also have farm fresh eggs

I have been a dedicated customer for over six years. Last month I was disturbed that the monthly special were gone excer one. I purchased it and four Kansas City strips and a 3 pound bunch of Chicken wings. $180 dollars worth. The next morning the wings were spoiled. Also as the month progressed I have found that I did not get everything I paid for. No roasts, no country style ribs and half the ground round we were supposed to get. I am disabled and the very nice man carried the meat to my car. My Son then put it all in the deep freeze. I thought it was odd that only two paper bags were used for that much meat not three. But being disabled and not walking well I just did not think. Now I have reconsidered what I was supposed to get with my purchase and did not. I understand that things are tough. But was not expecting this from a chosen place to do my business. Live and learn I guess. Too bad my fault for not checking.

I have been a customer for 10 years here but I think it's time to walk away. I can vividly draw a graph of steep changes in this butchery. Every time I visit there I buy bulky but of late the customer service is very poor and their beef 🍖 has become pricey everytime. They seem to rush customers Next...Next...! Some of their staff and customers not following mask policy 🙄 one of their employee only covering the mouth but not the nose. Last time my beef had more bones than juicy chunks!

Had two different cows butchered and unbelievably they ended up being the exact same weight. If my family had not told me the ticket weights and prices I never would have known. My two cows were not close to the same weight. Hopefully it was a mistake but I will not trust them with anymore of my cattle.
