All - I had an experience at this business which I have to share. I used "another provider", spent tons of money and in my view, much of it was not required. I took my "issues" to Waterloo Bicycle Works and not only did they fix the issue(s), they also EDUCATED ME on how to avoid it in the future, and fixed a few things I simply might not have noticed. It may seem this cost them money in future business, but it has done the opposite (speaking for me anyway). Further, my lack of bicycle mechanic experience caused me to "strip" my pedal threads on the sprocket arms. This company could have EASILY sold me new, expensive arms and I would have been none the wiser. However, they did not and instead, salvaged the arms I had. I have TONS of projects upcoming and there is NO WAY I am taking my machines anywhere else except for Waterloo Bicycle Works. That is called INTEGRITY folks and I am unsure who the owner is, but you have done AWESOME hiring the right people, setting a honest company culture, and did I mention the speed of service? I know because in a former life, I worked in Human Capital (formerly Human Resources). See you soon :)

I needed a bike part urgently while passing through town and the owner(?) was flexible and accommodating to meet me outside of business hours which I appreciated. He was helpful and showed me how to use the new part and how to avoid issues with it in the future.

Waterloo Bicycle Works is the best shop in the Cedar Valley without exception. They always take the time to make sure my bike is in the best condition possible. When I first took my bike in, a bike I purchased from another dealer before I found them, they looked at my rims and realized that they needed to be sent in under warranty. There was no charge for all the work they had done. They are fair and honest.In addition, they are connected to the community in ways no other shop is. They are locally owned and they are part of the community in every way.I write very few reviews, but this place deserves my time.

During every visit to Waterloo Bicycle Works I have always received excellent customer service and quality work! It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or experienced rider, their staff is very knowledgeable and equipped to answer any questions you may have. Anytime I have an issue with my bike, I am confident that they either have the solution or will go above and beyond to help me figure it out. Hands down the best bike shop in the Cedar Valley!

I stopped by here to test ride a few bikes in my pursuit of purchasing a new gravel bike. The staff was awesome and were super accommodating/knowledgeable. If they don’t have something in stock for your needs, they can build pretty much anything you want. Prices seemed very reasonable as well. I ended up purchasing a bike elsewhere just because I got a good deal and the other place had a lot of inventory, but I will certainly come here first next time I am in the market.

Very nice folks. Did a great job on my bike. I needed two tires and during covid that is no small deal. They found 2 tires with just the right tread. Got them delivered promptly. The bad news was not their fault ... Bike tires are very expensive right now.

The crew at Waterloo Bicycle Works is wonderful. I recently acquired a custom bike from them. Greg was extremely helpful at educating me on my options. I would recommend them to anybody who is looking for a bike in the Waterloo-Cedar Falls area.

I wish there were negative stars for this because the customer service here is absolutely terrible! From the minute we walked in, we got the sense that we were interrupting whatever it was they were doing before we entered, and that they really wanted to get back to whatever it was they were doing. It took several minutes to get anyone to help us, and when he did, he treated us with a tremendous amount of arrogance and condescension. We were trying to tell him what was wrong with the bike but he didn't want to hear it and said he would just go through it himself and let us know what he found. Several days later he called us and told us what he found, which lo and behold, was exactly what we were trying to tell him was wrong with the bike. The next problem was trying to get him to give us an exact estimate of how much it was going to cost and how long it would take. After several more days, the bike was ready. When we picked it up, there was again an air of indifference or disdain that we were interrupting their day. The bill turned out to be close to $200, which is way more than he let on it would be, and is probably as much as the bike is worth now. Needless to say we were shocked and upset. After we got the bike home, we noticed that it now shifts much worse than when we took it there. As an added bonus, someone there had cut the wire to the bike computer sensor and had messsed with the seat position (they had raised it way up and tilted it back). I am no expert when it comes to these things, but I do know that there's no reason to mess with the seat if you're just working on the chain. I can maybe understand adjusting the seat to test ride your "repairs", but wouldn't common sense or common decency tell you to inform the customer that you did that and offer to help adjust it back for them? This almost feels like a personal attack on us, even though we've never been there before or have ever met these people. The more I think about this the angrier I get, and I am very tempted to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I would highly recommend you stay away from this business, but if you do visit, leave your bike and money at home!!!

Waterloo Bicycle Works wanted to make sure it was the correct bike for my daughter over getting the sale. Spent time making sure everything was setup and adjusted correctly, patient with everyone test riding the bike. Recommend and will be back for our next bike purchase.

Provides excellent service with attention to detail -- never cutting corners on repairs or service. They offer free tune ups on bikes purchased new in the store after riders put a few miles on their new bikes to break them in.
