PetSmart has great stuff BUT the prices are high, unfortunately there are things you cannot buy at any other local stores so we need PetSmart. The store is nice though, bright, clean, well organized, etc. It's a fun place to be as well, at least for me, I love seeing all the animals, if only I had more money lol.

I was here to buy a $40 water testing kit and asked if I could have a bag for my fish, and the manager felt the need to ask a million questions and bring up the fact the it cost her money (like she’s spending her own money on it and it probably cost a few cents per bag for them). Absolutely horrible customer service. Just go to Aquatic Exotics on university. Will be bringing this experience up to corporate.

I took my Great Pyrenees for the first time and he had mattes. Felicity was his groomer and not only changed what I had booked to a better package that was still in my budget. Tron came out feeling and looking like a new dog. Thank You for your time you put in and care Felicity ❤️

I had a great experience at Petsmart In Waterloo yesterday and just wanted to share. For the last 21 years we have always used our vet for haircuts for our dogs. Last fall I called and they were scheduling more than 2 months out and then when I asked this Spring they were scheduling in August. They recommended Petsmart as an option and we have gone a couple of times. Our 1 year old dog had his 2nd haircut today and when they were finishing up on him he moved and they accidentally cut his ear a little bit. By policy they took him to the vet to make sure he was OK, they called me to make sure that I knew, they covered the vet bill and they didn’t charge me for the haircut. They also gave me 20% off of my other dog’s haircut because of what happened to to the my young dog. This is great customer service and we will definitely go back. I can’t even see where they cut him, so it was a very minor cut and he is fine. I just wanted to share in case anyone else is struggling to find a groomer.

Made an appointment for a puppy bath checked in online was noted I need papers for rabies brought the papers when I got there after checking in online she said she needed details on two shot boosters I couldn't get the papers over to her in time so everything got canceled im more then happy to find some place new its old and smelly in there dogs peeing all around u step in it and the haircuts for it when my older dog would go she new she looked bad she would be depressed for 1 week after don't waste your time !!

Buyer beware...took my year old rott in for a bath and brush...paid 70 bucks for this package...when dropping her off she asks if I want to add on a nail grinding... supposed to b part of the package....when picking her up she tells me some things she couldn't do....dew claws were just like they were when I dropped her off....had the choice of two appts....2 or 3....same person...has my dog for 2 and a half hours....and still didn't get the stuff in package....but didnt discount anything....I suggest u find somewhere else...just trying to help...... peace

I've only ever been here to buy food for our old Lepord Gecko, but I've had a great experience everytime. The staff were very helpful when we went a year later to get a fishtank and some fish.

We took our dog there for nails and wash. The girls were super! They have a talent with pets and it shows. We went ahead and made another appointment as we knew this was our spot. I highly recommend them.

We like this store, because we always know exactly where the food that we need for our cat. Plus we also enjoy looking at all the animals that they have up for adoption. Nice clean store, and easy to take your time and browse around. Super helpful associates.

I have a Shitzu-Maltese mix and has been going to the Waterloo location ever since he was a puppy. He is 2 now. He gets a full bath and cut every month. He was touchy about his feet a couple of times but I have been told the last 4 appointments, that he has gotten a lot better and was very good. They had no issues. I always have the same girl cut his hair so he was familiar with her. I had an appointment to get him groomed and his teeth brushed like he has had done before, on April 22, 2002. They had called me a couple days ago and asked if I could move up his appointment cuz there was a mistake in scheduling. I moved my appointment up an hour as I had to work. They called me the day of the appointment and asked again if there was anyway I could come sooner. I told them no I had to work until 12 so 1230 was the earliest I could get there. They said no problem , see ya at 1230. I then got another call at 1045, now stating that he was a risk to himself and them so I was no longer able to bring him there anymore!! Now this is a little confusing to me, I wasn’t able to bring him in earlier then they wanted me to and now he isn’t allowed!!! Why?? Now this seems to me that oh since you can’t bring him and we messed up on the schedule, you can’t bring him in anymore!! I’m sorry you messed up but it’s not my fault and now I have to find another groomer!! I will not be going to Pet Smart in Waterloo Iowa anymore! I bought and did all my pet needs shopping there!! You just lost a loyal customer!!

The groomer, Ashely at the Waterloo Store, was fantastic and our doodle LOVED her! However, I wasn't expecting to be charged $59.00 for a puppy cut which is only the face, sanitary and paws. I had the puppy coupon from the booklet I purchased for $20 which was offered with my puppy training. I was suprised that I still had to pay $37 because the coupon indicated it would be free for a puppy groom. He is a Bernedoodle pup but weighs less than 30 lbs right now. I know, as a Bernedoodle, he will cost WAY more when he is older but I wasn't expecting the price when the coupon makes it sound like it would be free. We drive an hour to Waterloo to do the training because Cedar Rapids isn't offering the training so this is a large expense. I was disappointed that the coupon mislead. If it wasn't for Ashley being so great with our doodle, this score would've been a lot less. If I were to grade just her, it would've been a 9 or 10.

Whatever girl they had working the registers tonight (7/17) after 8 was incredibly rude. I approached her register that had no line. She was standing there picking her nails. She waited until I arrived and started the transaction before starting to talk randomly. I am hearing impaired. I read lips. I was struggling to split my attention between the card reader and her random bursts of words into her headset trying to determine if she was speaking to me. Why she chose to wait to start conversing until I was in front of her and why she didn’t stop when it was obvious I was confused and struggling, especially since the parts I could catch were her basically venting about staying late…I won’t go there again. I was literally in front of her for less than a minute. If you can’t stop complaining and tune in that long to check me out, fine. She obviously didn’t want to be there. After that interaction, neither do I.

This stores behavior is disgusting . The are disability unfriendly both visible and unseen. We were refused service after a manager heard me speak I have a voice box issue that I had surgery on and my husband's brother who is visibility disable using every excuse he could find not to sell to us. Kicked us out of the store so we could not complete our shopping for 2 granddogs and 2 cats. We were trying to buy some fish. When we made complaint through corporate we recieved excuses not based on our whole expierence experience

Our groomer is Caroline she has done my two girls since they were little puppies you can tell she cares about them and that's what's important to me and she always does a good job with my girls she is really so friendly and a sweetheart thank you PetSmart

Went to buy goldfish (3 orandas) and the people working were pretty knowledgeable. This is really impressive to me as many people and many places have the “just a fish” mentality. They asked me what size tank I have (75 gallon) and made sure I knew about the nitrogen cycle and how for goldfish you need extra filtration, how long goldfish live (fancies 15-25 years, stream-bodied 20-30 years), made sure I know how big they get (depending on the breed, 8-14 inches) and we had a wonderful conversation about goldfish and community tank stocking. Bettas are still in cups, but that’s a chain pet store issue and has nothing to do with the employees. This is the best petsmart i have been to because the people who work there know about fish and that is, sadly, not often the case.
