Being in a rural location options for shopping are limited. Dollar General is a great addition to our community. However, the service is NOT good. I have experienced so many negative encounters with the staff of the Northwood, IA store. I finally complained to the manager today and felt like she blew my concerns off and defended the clerks actions. I actually regret buying $200 worth of picnic supplies and wish I had taken my business elsewhere.

I absolutely love this dollar General!! The staff is always amazing and super helpful....this evening my dad shopped there and bought and x box live card..not knowing he needed the receipt to redeem the coupon he passed on the receipt...he then got home and realized he messed up by not getting his receipt...i called the store and bless their hearts they saved the receipt knowing he needed it and gave me the code I needed!! Thank u dollar General for being nothing but amazing!!

I'm giving this store 3 stars in-spite of its general disarray.The staff are kind and friendly and the prices great. The City of Northwood truly needs this store.It is true that the store is in great state of perpetual chaos. Stocking the shelves is a burden the clerks have a hard time dealing with. The store is understaffed and is need of either a night time stocker or a part-time person to handle the task during the day hours. A bigger store would be advantageous also.

The employees are nice, but I feel really unsafe walking through the aisles with my toddler in my arms. Like I'm not a big person, but several aisles I had to scrape by and feared knocking things down onto myself. Crap is stacked up to the ceiling in the aisles in these leaning towers. It honestly looks like an episode of hoarders in there. I tried to take my daughter in a cart once but was unable to get down more than two aisles. Not sure if the Fire Marshall would approve. Or anyone actually cause I'm pretty laid back, but it's pretty bad in there. If you're claustrophobic don't go in. It's like a labyrinth. The only reason I give two stars instead of one is because the employees are legitimately nice people.

This store is so unorganized and very stressful or enter. It is such a mess you can't get down the isles. You can't find what you want because there are always carts in the way and the carts are full of stuff and too heavy to move. Every time I'm on the store I hear someone that's upset because of the mess. Northwood needs this store but it needs to be bigger. You need to build a bigger store.

This place can't seem to keep a manager. They have carts full of merchandise blocking aisles that you have to push out of your way. That wouldn't be so bad but the service is terrible, I've waited at the checkout for 5 minutes today as the manager talked with another customer. She was rude to my wife when all the carts sat outside and the manager had to get a cart for us

The people are friendly and helpful but the isles seem to be messy and full of new products often. It's hard to get around the store with the mess. Sorry DG, but it seems to happen to many stores. Why is my question?

DG always has great deals and great coupon opportunities with the DG app. Some stores are a little cluttered ....depends on which store you go to.

It's Dollar general... Where you can be assured you'll be skating around unshelved merchandise and random products needing to be stocked
