We've been bringing our West Highland White Terrier, Parker, to Animal Kingdom Veterinary Care Center, and we couldn't be happier with the care he receives! Dr. Noel has been especially fantastic. She is not only super nice and good with Parker, but she is also extremely attentive to his specific needs, especially his allergies. It's always reassuring to know your pet is in great hands. We highly recommend Dr. Noel and the entire team at Animal Kingdom for anyone looking for compassionate and thorough veterinary care.

I've had two times now where my cat needed immediate attention for his health, and Animal Kingdom got me in right away! The staff is very kind and considerate and work with you when it comes time to know what your bill will be.

Phenomenal vet clinic and staff. I have a reactive rescue dog who makes even routine vet visits a nightmare. The AKVCC staff provided ample accommodations to keep my wild one as calm as possible. They were kind, patient, and thorough in addressing my questions and concerns. During the (incredibly difficult) exam, they showed such professionalism and candor that put me at ease. I’m so grateful to have established care for my boy with such an outstanding vet clinic. Thank you so much, AKVCC!

Animal Kingdom is a great place to take your furry friends, the staff are great and helpful through the entire process of taking care of our 2 senior dogs.Cons:- Every time I have been there (4 times in the last 3 months), the pups have seen a different doctor. Not a huge deal but when it comes to continuity of care, information could get lost.- Vets are expensive... So it isn't necessarily a CON only for Animal Kingdom, they have to make money somehow.Pros:- Of the different docs that have seen by pups, they clearly read the files ahead of time and are prepared, they would follow-up with information that only they would know from reading their charts.- Staff truly love animals, they have a cat that chills on the counter and is very comfortable with all the various animals that come in and out.- Facility is clean and doesn't stink of animal pee or poo, they keep the place wiped down and tidy!- Staff and doctors are helpful and answer questions as thoroughly as possible- The doctors followed up with phone calls and I spoke to them personally about care for my pups.- We have now said goodbye to both of our pups with the help and care of AKVCC. The personnel were sweet and compassionate through the entire process. Thanks for caring for our dogs for the last 6 years.

New front of house staff is rude and not understanding of loyal pet owners. We love the veterinarians but the front desk staff were unwilling to work with us on a timing issue when no one else was around. We have switched to a closer vet and are sad to leave our vet but the treatment by the front staff was unprofessional and added stress to a time that is normally stressful for pets.

ETA: I wrote this review back when AKVCC was under its previous ownership, with Dr. Ahern. Now that the practice has been bought out by private equity, none of the staff we knew and loved are there anymore, and the vets we loved have all departed. If you'd like to know more about what a private-equity-owned vet clinic will do for you and your pet (spoiler alert: it's not good), listen to the Freakonomics Podcast episodes "Do You Know Who Owns Your Vet?" and "Should you trust private equity to take care of your dog?". I'll summarize it: prices go up dramatically, but pet health outcomes get worse. We have already switched to another vet that is locally owned.===================I can't recommend Animal Kingdom enough. They made a huge positive impression on us when we were in the unfortunate position of putting our beloved cat to sleep. When I called to schedule the appointment, crying, they were compassionate and gentle with me. We arrived that evening and the staff had filled out all the paperwork for me---which was good considering I was crying so hard I couldn't have done it myself---and all I needed to do was scribble a signature. They quietly took us directly to a private room where we were given plenty of time to say goodbye to our kitty. When he came in, Dr. Ahern explained what was going to happen, and let us hold Panda while she went to sleep, and he said how sorry he was for our loss, and told us to take all the time we needed. Everyone, from the front desk to the doctor, were gracious and kind, and understood that we were going through one of the worst days of our life in saying goodbye to Panda. For routine care for our dog and cats, they've been fantastic -- even taking the time to learn our kids' names and talking to them during visits, too! They're affordable and kind, and really make you (and your pet!) feel appreciated as a client. I will never go anywhere else for my vet care.**Update 3 years later: I wrote this review in 2017 and it's now 2020, and in the interim, the adorable schnauzer in the picture became sick with diabetes, then went blind, then glaucoma, kidney stones, and bladder infections. It was nonstop, one thing after another, for 2 years until we finally decided his little body had had enough. Once again, AKVCC was there every step of the way. When we'd been in to the clinic 3x in a week, they comped one of our office visits. They helped us find specialists to deal with Kitty's eyes. And when the horrible day came to say goodbye to our pup, they once again handled us with the utmost compassion and care. They were there for us on one of the worst days of our lives, and they helped make it a little less difficult. All the <3 for AKVCC!

Thanks for taking such great care of Clyde during his bout with pancreatitis. I also really appreciate the team masking during this Covid/respiratory surge. It shows you pay attention and understand zoonotic/airborne viruses.

Animal Kingdom’s staff consistently provides an outstanding standard of care for their clients and patients. Lola never looks back once she’s inside and we are instantly assured that she is in great hands. We appreciate the reminders, updates, and compassion that the doctors and staff provide with each interaction. Thank you, Animal Kingdom!

Animal Kingdom's Dr's are so helpful and really care about our pets. We are on our second dog since we moved to North Liberty back in the 90's. I have trusted both of them to Animal Kingdom's care. Very affordable and great staff.

I love the compassion and kindness of all staff and the Vet well she is fantastic ❤️. I have 2 Rex rabbits which are considered Exotic animals and i called vets in Riverside, Kalona, Coralville and Iowa City and none of them had any experience with Exotic Animals and therefore would not see my pets. I called this clinic and to my surprise they had no problems with caring for my rabbits. I am grateful 🙏 for the Vet and all her staff.

Animal Kingdom does an amazing job of making sure my dog always feels loved and safe even when she’s being an axioms husky! I have recommended Animal Kingdom to friends who have recently gotten puppies! They are great and I will forever bring my dog here!

Last time I visited Animal Kingdom, my pet carrier broke open in the middle of the parking lot. It was a VERY stressful experience trying to get both of my cats out from under my car and keep them from running into traffic. The staff were very helpful in providing temporary carriers and taking care of check in so I could take a moment to cool off and try to calm my poor babies. The vet and her assistant were amazing. They created such a patient and understanding environment for both me and my cats. They offered lots of pets and calming words, and one of my cats gave the vet a little nose bump "kiss" as a thank you. This is my thank you to the staff at Animal Kingdom. They truly love animals, and it shows. That means a lot as a pet parent. I will definitely continue to recommend this place to friends and family!

Love the care and attention you give to our pets. When it's an urgent issue, you have been able to squeeze them when needed. Truly care about the pets and not just the profit. Feels more like a small town vet. We especially love Dr. Becky Noel!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!!! They are just out to take your money. We just recently had transferred care of our 7 fur babes to Animal Kingdom after our vet moved her practice there. When attempting to schedule a dental cleaning for our husky, Animal Kingdom said we would first have to do a $75 pre-dental exam. Our husky had just been seen for a full work up 2 weeks earlier by the same doctor who would be doing the dental cleaning, but still Animal Kingdom would not budge. They wanted another $75 visit before we would be allowed to schedule the cleaning. There is absolutely no reason for this waste of the doctor’s time, and our time, other than to reach into our pockets. So please, save your time and money and take your pets elsewhere.

I was given choice of what vet desired. Multiple vets available. Kittens received first exam, shots, worming. Vet recommended getting the dog Revolution for flea, ear mite and round worm prevention and dividing between my multiple cats to save money. I was informed that same composition in both cat and dog Revolution. Animal Kingdom provides promotions with Care Credit which allows one to make payment over time and yet acquire no interest at all for large cost care or meds . Was given discount on kitten exam, worming for my two new kittens.

Have taken all our animal here, even when it was just Dr Ahearn. Staff is very knowledgable and friendly, I think they remember the pets better then the owners.

They treat your dog really well, are friendly, and don't try to upsell you stuff. I've been taking both my dogs here (3 &4) since they were puppies.

It was easy and timely to find an appointment. The doctor, Ana Falk DVM, was kind and explained the tests and results clearly. My dogs warmed to her right away and she kept them comfortable throughout their visits. I felt she was thorougher than others I had seen at other facilities. The reception area is newer, clean, and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I have been going to Animal Kingdom for several years, and always have a good experience. It is amazing the stamina the staff shows given the responsibilities they have. They always answer all my questions and give my fur babies the best care. I trust and appreciate the work they do! Thank You!

We've had the best experience here. The desk staff are caring and try to problem solve, even when it's out of their realm. Dr. Noel is fantastic. She's attentive and patient. We have a small, very nervous dog, who does not like attention, the vet or being touched. Dr. Noel and her staff worked slowly and patiently with her, even getting on the floor themselves to get on her level and make her more comfortable. I can't thank this team enough and the wonderful care they've provided not only our dog but her humans too.

Service was very prompt. I had more concerns than what we were scheduled for and they were all addressed. Everyone there is ALWAYS very pleasant, and never judgemental about my dogs being obnoxious drama queens.

I’ve had multiple bad experiences with this clinic. First, my dog had a teeth cleaning. He had to be there by 7:30 am and they didn’t even plan start his cleaning until afternoon. The communication was terrible. I told them that if my dog wouldn’t be done by 4:30, we’d have to cancel because I wouldn’t be able to pick him up after 4:30 due to my schedule with my kids. They said that for sure wouldn’t be a problem . Then they ran late and went ahead and did the cleaning anyway knowing he wouldn’t be done until 5:30. Then they forgot to call me to let me know he was done. I finally and asked what was going on and they said he was done about 45 minutes ago and just waiting for me.I just recently ordered my dog heartworm medication and I used promo codes and points to do so. The clinic denied it, saying that the protocol changed so now I need to take him in to get screening done. I was just there this month, told them I was moving, and they never said anything about him needing this screening. So now I’m expected to either order a single dose of the medication (which is way more expensive, I now would have to pay for shipping, and I still lose my promo points) or find a new vet in my new town to approve this medication.

Our cat Lilly had alot of dryness above her tail and up her back, Dr. Oliver was the vet that took care of her and she said Lilly had fleas. Dr. Oliver was very friendly and helpful with providing information for me to help with getting rid of the fleas. She let me know the best way to use and it was to use a flea collar which she kindly put on LIlly for me. I had also taken our cockatiel to Animal Kingdom to have a band removed from his leg which was my first visit here and Dr. Noel removed it. I was comfortable with my experience and I knew I would start taking Lilly here to be treated. I drive from SW Cedar Rapids but it is worth the drive. The vets here care for you and your pets and I recommend this clinic to everyone.

Animal Kingdom has taken great care of our three dogs for various issues- allergies, bladder stones, CCL injuries, nail trims, really anything that can come up. I felt like they always took time to discuss the possible treatment options and never pushed for things that were unnecessary. Dr. Noel really cares about them. Prices were very reasonable.

Both Dr. Schmidt and the tech were very knowledgeable and took the time to listen and understand Riley's health concerns and history.

The only veterinarian in that office that was worth anything, Dr Oliver, left a few months ago, but I was going to keep going there because my dog is healthy and young enough that we don’t need to go often. I needed a refill of her heart worm preventative and had a coupon from chewy to save some money on the expensive treatment. I sent a refill request to Animal Kingdom for the exact same prescription they filled for me last year but it was denied because they said she weighed 1 pound over the 12-25 pound range for that medication. They told me to move up to the next weight amount and they would refill it which I did. THEN the next day they denied that prescription because they said she was due for a visit in July! So now she is completely out of the medication until I can get her in for a visit. I really think they denied it because I was going somewhere besides their office for the refill and they were not going to be able to make the money for it. I will NEVER go to this vet again because of the way I was treated. I’m trying to find where Dr Oliver went so I can continue having a vet that cares.
