I've got two brags about my stop for lunch about 2 PM on 6/26/23, plus the food was good, too! When I walked in, the woman at the register was helping someone on the phone order an ice cream cake. She very patiently took the order and also patiently dealt with getting the payment info over the phone, which the person was having difficulty with. It took a while but I appreciated the fact that she was being so kind to the person on the other end of the phone. It's not always possible for everyone to get there to place an order. She then took my order and I got my food shortly. While I ate, an older couple came in who reminded me of my parents. They loved to stop for ice cream! At this point, a different woman was tending the register. The man asked what items had peanuts. She told him and asked about the inquiry. He said his wife couldn't have them. She asked if she was allergic or had another problem. He explained that his wife has trouble swallowing. There was a particular Blizzard she thought looked good but it had some larger pieces in it. The worker explained how she could make a couple changes in the ingredients used to make sure there wouldn't be any bigger pieces in it but still give his wife the flavor sensation she wanted. I was very touched by the kindness she showed this couple. The smile on the gentleman's face when they got their Blizzards was great! I have found the staff and service at the Mason City location to be very good!

Line at the drive thru always has a wait time of at least 20 minutes or more, food quality is horrible, portion sizes are way too small for how expensive they are, and the employees are rude and don't seem like they want to be there. Only reason for 2 stars is ice cream is decent if they actually give you your right order.

Food was good and came out pretty quick.Just a thought - make sure employees are communicating with customers. Even if you can't take an order immediately, make sure you say "One moment please" or "I'll be right with you."When we pulled up to order at the drive thru it was absolute silence for a couple minutes. We didn't know if maybe the speaker wasn't working, because usually, an employee will greet you upon arrival and say "One moment please" if they cannot help immediately. That's normal customer service that i have experiencedat every drive thru. However, that didn't happen, and because it was so quiet, we were confused and said "Hello?" since, like I said, no employee communicated with us since we arrived. When we got to the window, the woman was very passive aggressive about it. I understand being understaffed and busy, but saying "hello?" wasn't out of anger or irritation, and wasn't said in such a way either.

Terrible they don’t acknowledge their customers. Had a gal and her daughter in front of me in line the lady looked at them and walked away. Didn’t even say hey I be right with you or anything. Now I’m still standing in lin and it’s been well over 10 minutes and gal in front of me or I have even been waited on. Terrible customer service excellent food though. These ladies are little older nothing wrong with it but they work very slow and their voice tone is rude

We went inside and placed our order. After ten minutes we were given our milkshake and sundae. They said they would bring our burgers to our table. After another ten minutes the sundae is gone and still no burgers. Asking where they were, we got no good answer. After almost another ten minutes we got them but never an apology or explanation. There were over four employees behind the counter and only two other groups eating inside. We felt drive through customers got preference. The food was fine, the service was awful.

Horrid service, wrong food and they put nuts in my daughter's ice cream even though I specifically asked the manager not to because of her allergies. Will not be returning for quite a while, hire more competent managing and then maybe we will 👎

Went through the drive-thru & we ordered a triple chocolate brownie, a sundae, and a dipped cone. The sundae was fine. The dipped cone was the smallest large cone I have seen in a while. The thing that destroyed my treat was watching a chubby middle-aged male walk up to the young lady making my dessert. He plopped something into the bowl, and wiped his bare hands on his shirt as he walked away. No! I do not want a brownie that was manhandled by someone not using tongs or gloves. Disgusting! It ruined it for me.

Started with a very quiet speaking, non smiling order taker.After a longer than usual wait for dq, and customers that came in after our order was taken got their food, the very rude order deliverer rushed past a WWII Veteran using a walker ( he had to stop and wait ) this mannerless server dropped our tray on the table without any hesitation or a single word.The food was alright, not up to the usual dq standards we have experienced across the country. Yes, we visit many stores regularly.We will not visit this store again...

I ordered an original double cheeseburger on my lunch break today. When I got back to work my burger was what I assumed to be an A1 burger. It had bacon on it and I don't eat bacon. I had no time to return to DQ so my $10 lunch was a med diet coke and a small order (about 8 rings) of onion rings. Very poor lunch. The person taking orders seemed to me like she didn't want to be there. I gave 2 stars because the ORs were hot and fresh.

Never have I had someone so rude take my order. “Can you maybe help me out with size? I’m horrible at reading minds.” Snarky. And we paid for mediums, got smalls. Clear Lake DQ is 7 miles away and customers are appreciated I bet.

It was very busy with the Lights Festival across the street at the fairgrounds. I had 6 cars ahead of me. They completed my special order with no issues. The gal at the window offered my dog a pup cup of ice cream. Very satisfied with the service, no problem with the delayed wait.

Went through drive thru to order lunch. Ordered two chicken strip baskets with country gravy and and extra dipping sauce. Got home and there were no sauces. I usually take time to check the food before driving away but was in a hurry this time. Other than that, the food was good and the employees were very friendly.

I used Google maps to find a DQ in Mason City IA and I had to drive 4+ mi out of the way from my trek from Des Moines to Minneapolis. I waited a very long time to get the Blizzard and my order was wrong. I asked for extra chocolate and got NO chocolate. I rarely indulge in junk food but I had a craving. At lease it will be easier to talk myself out of it next time.

Very slow, ordered chicken strips basket, when I returned to work, very small amount of fries mostly bits and pieces, only 2 strips not 4 and food was cold!!! No napkin. Service and quality has really gone downhill the last 6 weeks. Another time ordered food but had to back out of the drive thru because it was taking so long. I used to go there at least 3 times a week since it was so close to work. Not anymore!!!!

As usual I got me a HEATH Blizzard and enjoyed it. This location still doesn't have the inside open due to COVID just the drive through. I would have been upset if I would have waited in line at the drive through only to get up to the speaker to see they are only accepting cash and I didn't have any on me. I noticed a couple of other cars pull off after they got up to it.

Always seems understaffed by at least two people at all times. This causes large wait times but somehow does not sacrifice food quality. I am always impressed with how the employees there deal with the high amounts of stress that they go through. I just wish the Owner would employee more people and not be greedy. If the lack of candidates is an issue then obviously you are not paying them enough and/or over working them which causes a high turnover rate.. It is causing issues with the employees and customers.

So my family and I ordered food and it was all messed up and cold so I was super disappointed so I called and the manager Shelby was amazing she totally made up for it and I really appreciated it she was very understanding and went out of her way to make it right everybody makes mistakes and she made it right 100 percent give her a promotion and a raise!!! I just don’t see customer service like that anymore it’s rare these days

I live in the area and i only come here when i am desperate for ice cream. I have yet to have been in and out of the drive thru there. They need a sign in the drive thru saying “minimum wait 20 min” because that has honestly been the least amount of time i have waited in line here…EVER. Only 4 cars ahead of me today and i have still been in line for 20 minutes and i haven't even ordered yet.

Took forever to get our food. When we got our food it was cold and didnt get some of what we ordered. The cashier had no clue as to what all came on a simple burger let alone if they had bottled water. The didningroom wasnt cleaned either all the tables were dirty. Nobody came out to clean them the whole time I was there. This experience was by far the worst I've ever had at this place. They need to train their employees and have more on staff when they know its gonna be a busy day.

Ordered food waited almost 40 minutes several costumers can in and received food before us. I went to counter was told they were waiting for fresh meat. Young man came out asked what we ordered told him approximately 3 minutes later we got our food dry bunches meat cold..will never eat there again.
