My rabbit needs a surgery, the vet has experience with the needed surgery but They said I'd need to do a visit to look at the bunny before determining if the surgery is needed (makes total sense) but won't accept the x-rays I've already got of the issue because "the systems are different". They charge the most for X-rays in town so I know I'm going to have to spend at least $250-300 to find out the same info I already have. I can understand if they want to get additional angles..but to not even accept or look at the ones I already have makes it seem like they prioritize income over pet health.We took in one of our cats a few months ago for an eye issue and they did some diagnostics and said the eye was probably scratched, even though they couldn't actually see the scratch and the issue was affecting both eyes. They gave some meds and wanted to set up a follow up. We were billed $130 for that visit for the exam, dye test, and some pain meds.We went to another vet for a 2nd opinion( Mason City Pet Clinic)that vet said the issue was caused by an excess of cheek tissue, causing the hair to turn in, scratch the eyes and cause ulcers. They billed us $60 for the visit and antibiotic ointment We set up an appointment to have the extra tissue removed and our cats eyes are perfect. The surgery cost was $300 covered the surgery, pain and antibiotic meds, a post-surgery cone, and a rabies and distemper vaccination.I think AMH has well experienced vets, but I can't justify the costs they charge considering there are so many other well experienced vets for cats & dogs.

I cannot begin to tell you how much these doctors and staff have eased my worries about my kitties. My boy Bobby had to get SO MANY teeth removed and it’s been a seamless process thanks to doctor Drost and the rest of the staff at AMH. It’s inexpensive, depending on the procedure being done and your income level but, highly recommend.

THESE GUYS ARE AMAZING. I called around to 3 different vet clinics, in tears due to a predator ripping apart my chicken coop and was met with no help and apathy. I called the Animal Medical Hospital and next thing I know, I’m pulling up with my 2 surviving babies bleeding out and they are taken back straight away.The staff was kind, empathetic, fast, proficient and honest about all of my options. And the bill was very affordable, even with the medications they sent us home with.THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!

Every single employee that works here is top notch! All of the staff are professional, courteous, caring, and have excellent bedside manner with the animals. We started coming here 13 years ago with our first dog, and now we continue to come here for care of our second dog. No problems ever getting a last minute appointment (for medical issues that pop up unexpectedly). The doctors are very thorough with their care and patiently answer questions we have.

The Animal Hospital is the best vet office I have ever been to. They are kind and caring. My pet loves going to see the girls at this office. The prices are very reasonable. If you want good care for your furry little or big loved one; this is the place to go. Without a doubt 10++++++. I would be lost if not for these amazing women................I THANK YOU!!!!

This has been my vet for 3-4 years, I went to Virginia and returned and scheduled a visit for my dog . The girl on the desk was very rude. I waited for 30 minutes and walked out. Have new vet now!

They are great with my cats.The separate check in space for cats and dogs is pleasent and provides clean ample room for us and our pets. The Hospital staff are informative, caring and friendly. The Docters are thorough and kind towards the pets. Care is given with pets overall health and calmness in mind.The in house lab is on par with what we would find in a neighborhood clinic for people, orderly - clean and well lighted. Surgery rooms are also well appointed and clean. Safe handling practices for animals and there are quratine rooms are on sight in case that is needed.They offer a full range of prescription diets - that are stored neatly on sight.Dr. Lacoste and her staff have treated my feline friend over the past weeks for several complicated age related issues with success through the care and prescriptions they issued for Tabitha.I recommend this practice for those with feline companions.

If I could give zero stars I would. My bearded dragon woke up one day and she just couldn’t move at all. Panicked i set up a vet appointment here and when I brought her in , the vet didn’t look at her more then 2 minutes and decided she needed to be put down and I said no. 2 days later she’s getting movement back and I found out she has a calcium deficiency. I was given a food supplement for her from this vet and when the “trained” vet syringe fed her she caused her to bleed from the mouth and BROKE her jaw. Highly don’t recommend this place for reptiles. Not to mention The vet was on google the entire appointment researching things.

Exceptional care provided to both of my senior cats Lucy and Tabitha. The Renal support care Lucy received provided her a high quality of life for over two and a half years until she succumbed to an oral tumor. I had since moved this fall and over the long distance Dr. Lacosta and her team provided care and compassion, receiving a card from the team upon Lucy's passing was greatly appreciated.

I had taken my dog to see Dr. Beckner and Dr. LaCoste since I got her. The care has always been exceptional by them and their staff. Our dog was getting old and we had to put her down recently. The care, compassion and respect that Dr. LaCoste provided our dear friend and us as her family meant so much to us. We have continued to bring all our furry friends here and their service never disappoints.Update: we cotinue to take our new dogs to see Dr. LaCoste. Very satisfied with the service my dog IvyQueen (Lab/Chow Chow) got from the staff at Animal Medical Hospital. The way they approach towards my dog was so gentle and patient my dog was calm and friendly with them. Which it melt my heart because my dog acted so aggressive with previous veterinarians. My cat has been having some troubles eating and with lethargy, and i took him in on Friday (01/14). They got me in right away, i didn’t even sit down in the waiting room. They did a few tests, they came up inconclusive, so i took him home. He still didn’t want to eat so i called them Saturday night, and they had me come in today (Sunday morning, 01/16). They ran a blood test, came up healthy, but then the vet and i talked about some of his recent habits and problems and came to the unusual conclusion that his sense of smell isn’t what it used to be! I took her advice of feeding him warm, wet, stinky food and he’s eating again! I’ll update in a few days when he’s hopefully feeling even better. The staff were very friendly, and very sympathetic and validating when it came to my concerns. They listened, and took in everything i had to say about my cat and his recent health issues. They were very quick to get me in when i told them wasn’t eating. The vet (can’t remember her name because i have memory issues) was very gentle and kind and talked my cat through all of it. He likes her, even though she took his temp and got blood and urine samples.Update: my poor baby has passed. The vet, Dr LaCoste, did everything she could to find out what was wrong with him, and it turned out to be late stage cancer. There was nothing she could’ve done to save him, but she did everything she could to make his posting easier. She came in on her day off with the intention of euthanizing him because he was suffering so much, and while he passed before we left the apartment, she was so kind and i could just see the sadness in her eyes when we walked in. She cares.

The vet that we saw was NOT good with our dog. We just got a Cane Corso puppy, and the whole time she was judging the breed. I don’t care what view you have about ear cropping, but as a vet you shouldn’t talk about how terrible it is for 10 minutes, judging us as owners. Yes, we did our research on ear cropping and the bree, and yes we have had a big “temperamental” breed before. Also trying to tell us how temperamental he will be, saying he will become mean and aggressive the WHOLE time. She was acting scared of the what a SEVEN week old puppy would become. Also said that she was more scared for the elderly when I told her I will be taking him to my work place, to socialize him and give residents some time to enjoy a dog (which they absolutely love). She didn’t even pet him, but instead walked in and told the nurse to pick him up, touched his nuts, told us he had two, and that’s about it. The two nurses were awesome, the vet was not.

Great staff! They took my mother's cat in during an emergency when her local vet was out of town. They were so kind and caring! The outcome for the cat was not what we hoped for, but they handled Tootsie with utmost care and consern. The euthanasia of tootsie was done in the kindest and least stressful way for her. While loosing her was not easy it gave us comfort knowing this.

My vet was not available to help my dog. The animal hospital got us right in and offered wonderful care! I asked for a call back from my vet, and I never received one. A week later, my cat was in a lot of pain. My vet closed at 12, so I called the Animal Medical Hospital. They took Felix right in. Once again, they gave my animal top notch care! I love this clinic! I am in the process of becoming part of their clinic family!
