We had a lovely visit here on a Tuesday, there weren't many people and the staff was very friendly. I liked seeing the shells that had holes punched out from the old button factory. There's a lovely book section I think the locals would love to peruse in their spare time. A nice porch facing the river offers a beautiful view of the Lansing Bridge. We will stop by again!

Very interesting place to stop and stretch your legs. There are many exhibits related to the area, including several live animal enclosures. If you are into photography, decks on the building provide wonderful views of the town of Lansing, the Mississippi River and boat access areas. Team members at this location aren't in-your-face, but very friendly and helpful if you ask a question.

Nice spot for a stop when traveling along the Mississippi River road. Located on the South end of the small town of Lansing, this place offers a glimpse into life on the river from long ago, as well as live displays of river wildlife. Two observation decks offer great views of activity on the river.

Awesome but we almost missed it it's the beautiful building. And when we are getting in our car eagle came flying right overhead awesome. Lots of touchable interactive things from looking inside of a live beehive to all kinds of furs you can touch on a topical map you can walk through. I enjoyed it as an adult and imagine a child would too.Update went back and really enjoyed it this time talked with some of the people and they convinced me to spend $25 on the (decoding the driftless )DVDSo so wonderful.. it's better than national geographic. I learned so much

This is such a great place to bring your kids to check out the history of the Driftless Area. Theres some snakes turtles, and frogs for them to look at. A nice little sitting area with lots of books. My son had lots of fun playing with the giant turtle outside.

Detailed exhibits of river life and history in the driftless region with great river views just downstream of Lansing. Good wildlife exhibits and even a beehive you can watch from inside. Self-guided tours in an architectural masterpiece. No entry fee, but donations accepted and well deserved.

Really nice education facility. Nice, helpful staff member. Downside, that prob could not be helped due to Covid, none of the interactive exhibits could be touched.

I have never been to a museum or any free public space where the staff were this friendly! Highly recommend. There are so many interactive exhibits and little creatures. We loved the snakes! We will definitely be returning when the weather warms up.

The staff are so nice and welcoming. All three of my boys enjoyed their visit here. Quick stop, but well worth it.

It's a perfect little self-guided museum. Our 2 and 4 year old girls loved being able to touch the different animal furs and bones, as well as some of the rocks and artifacts. There's a beautiful deck with a picture perfect view of the river and bluffs. The museum is free and staff there are very friendly and helpful.

I've b3en to other Driftless Area interpretive centers but this one takes the cake! Can be taken in leisurely if you are a geology buff or a quick tour if you're on a directed daytrip.....fun and informative for all!

I'm not really into museums but this place is cool.I've never actually seen a rattlesnake before so being able to see one and it actually rattling was neat (in the cage of course).

The website does not give this place any justice, as it doesn't explain all that it has to offer. It was a Wonderful museum about the area and the Mississippi River. This is a must stop if you have children of any age b/c there are a ton of hands on exhibits here and live animals to watch. My child particularly loved the chance to pilot a barge and to feel all the different types of animal furs. The views of the river are beautiful from the deck as well. The staff was very informative. Don't drive by.....stop and enjoy!
