Great place to shop. Especially enjoyed perusing the spice and jam and pickle selections. Lots of homemade goodies too. Restaurant is nice but was disappointed that at 6:30 pm they were out of broasted chickenThe pulled pork sandwich was good though, and huge. Expect to spend at least half an hour shopping. Lots to see.

All sorts of neat things in this store! Many of the items for sale are not Amish-made, but they are cute and fun nonetheless. They do have handmade baskets, furniture, "barn quilt" wall art, actual quilts, and preserves, though. There are also some chickens outside and a fun photo op with some metal sculpture cows. A fun family stop!

It's the first time I visited the place and I was delighted. We buy souvenirs and jams for our family. It's on the same border as Missouri and Iowa.

Awesome store! Great snack bar/cafe. They have lots of homemade goodies and fresh baked bread. They also have homemade jellies/preserves and a variety of candies. There are home decor, gifts, and hand crafted furniture! Plan a stop here and check it out! You won't regret it!

Lots to see, something for everyone. I stopped there going and coming (both ways) for cinnamon rolls. Once for my host, and once for my cat sitter. Definitely worth the $7.99 price tag. Can't wait to make my own for Easter! 🐇So many jellies, incredible wood work, kitchen items, local wines, cheeses, toys, trinkets; plus a diner.

Been driving past here for years and never stopped. Decided yesterday was the day. I'm glad I did! The store was filled with treasures and sweets! Oh, and it smells like a tenderloin thanks to the Maid-Rite inside. I didn't try any food, but I'm sure it was delicious. They had everything from furniture to jellies, jams and pillows inside. Also, before you leave make sure to pick up some Iowa travel guides and delicious free coffee. My Grandma just kept talking about how good the coffee was and I agree. This place is worth the short detour off I-35.

This place is so charming! Stopped on our way home to Kansas City. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but we will try it next time. I bought some pickles and jam, both are spectacular!Everyone who works there is pleasant and personable. The young lady at the register was very nice, like talking to an old friend. I highly recommend stopping here if you end up in the neck of the woods. A great place to take the whole family!

Store itself is fun and neat to visit. The restaurant part however is way overpriced for what you get for basically visiting a Maid-Rite!! We was under the impression from the billboards along I-35 that it was a country style kitchen to find out in fact it was basically a fancier Maid-Rite with much higher pricing. We payed around 40 bucks for two simple sandwiches, fries and drinks!!

Cinnamon rolls are as good as any I've ever had. All the jams and jellies have been good. It's a nice spot to stop and stretch your legs driving between Des Moines and Kansas City.

A very, very interesting and cool combination of diner, state visitor center and general store. Lots of Amish made art and foods and some made for them. The staff at the store were very friendly and helpful. If you're traveling either north or south on I35, it's at the first (or last) exit at the Iowa/Missouri border

I was driving from Kansas City, MO to Des Moines and found a perfect midpoint to stop over for lunch. That’s how we stumbled upon this gem of a store, selling so many cute merchandise. They had a wide selection of pickled goods, jams and other condiments and it all looked so fresh and home made. They had a lot of local Iowa merchandise so that’s perfect for tourists to get a keepsake. I also bought some hand made soaps made from goat milk, in some delightful scents. I liked how the packaging was completely biodegradable making it a much better plastic-free alternative. The setting was also very pretty and they had a turkey coop to the side. I walked around the store, exploring their garden and relaxing by the swing set. Definitely worth getting off the highway and checking this place out. The store was also connected to Maid-rite fast food joint so it made for the perfect pit stop. Really nice staff.

Great store, everyone was friendly. Disappointed that by Noon all the fried pies were already gone. We thought there would still be plenty. Y'all should make more! Or take 'Orders' from out of town people. If you already do, sorry.

The store sells a variety of locally-made foods and gifts. Many homemade food items are available. The store has furniture and home decor. It also doubles as an Iowa welcome center, and has travel brochures and information for a variety of Iowa destinations. There are restrooms available, and there is a local restaurant attached to the store.

Always stop here! Handmade baskets and furniture made by Amish craftspeople. Maid rite restaurant and a bakery on site. Love the day old bread for egg bakes or French toast casserole. Lots of Mellisa and Doug toys are available! The building has almost doubled in size the past year!

The Amish Country Store portion of this stop is fantastic, loaded with furniture and décor along with Amish jams, jellies, pickles and cheese. There are candies and ingredients, and a bakery area with bread and cinnamon rolls bigger than soft balls! While the attached Maid-Rite was a major disappointment, I can see this store being a regular stop for us as we take I-35 road trips in the coming years.

We were in a big rig Sport Chassis + 45 ft RV. We had no problem parking. Super good fried pies and can’t wait to have some cinnamon bread. Even bought a handmade basket. I even saw an Amish gentleman and his horse and buggy. Loved our visit!!! Easy on and off for big trucks!!

Jams, spices, knives, pans, furniture, food, candy. A great tourist stop but also for locals for their small pantry. Also has a buggy outside and a chicken coop. 🙂

Pretty fun store with lots of merchandise to look at and purchase. Connected to the store is a Maderite restaurant with the famous loose hamburger sandwiches. They have other foods to choose from as well

We had passed by here many times driving thru Iowa. I am so glad we finally stopped. This place was amazing. Lots of canned goods, spices/herbs, homemade candies, handmade baskets, trinkets, and other handmade goodies. The restaurant smelled delicious. We already ate prior to arriving. I wish we hadn't so I could have had lunch there. They have an okd school house out back. Overall it was a great place. I look forward to stopping in again.
