Have to say yesterday was my first time shopping at this dollar general location. The gentleman helping me check out was kind and polite to every customer that walked in and out of the store. They had everything I needed! I usually go to the Ankeny location, which is a disaster, all the time. Ankeny staff never says hi, welcome, or even have a good day. I rather drive 17 mins to spend my money at this location!!!

It’s 105* and miserable out today, the gentleman cashier at 1:25pm on Weds took it upon himself to show kindness, patience and positivity to a couple customers in front of me and myself. You’d be hard pressed to find a more thoughtful person.My guess is he probably won’t even want the acknowledgment 😊

I enjoy this store as one of my favorite dollar stores. The staff is always cheerful and professional. I witnessed a clerk going above and beyond to help a disabled person get safely to their vehicle as they were having difficulty hauling their sacks after paying. This store is well stocked with the cleaning items I regularly need. They have a discounted/clearance section stocked with good items. Great staff is always most important to me to achieve a 5 star Google review.

Totally disappointed I was trying to get some items (food) then when I went to pay using Google pay what I was told was "I don't know how it works only seen it works once "So I ask the cashier to try and all the person said was "no I don't know" DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO HELP OR ASK THE OTHER WORKERS

If you haven’t been to a Dollar General Store before, check out this one. Great selection, great (low) prices, and a great (friendly and helpful) staff. This clean and bright store is a five-star general!

Cheap candy, not much more needs to be said. Other things are present here, at reasonable prices compared to other dollar stores and to full grocery stores, but the lack of carts and how tight the aisles are, as well as there generally only being one person at the register results in no desire to spend too much time here.In other news, toothpaste and other cleaning products are a good buy here.

Had a problem sending Western Union to another location but by no fault of the cashier. (Western Union's fault). The cashier couldn't have been nicer she spent about 20 minutes resolving the issue. The store is super clean because it's brand new.

I live in Ankeny and go the Merle Hay and 86th street stores.They are clean and well organized. Lots of room to shop and they seem to have things our store doesn't have.
