We have been taking our Persian cats to Shelly for the past, at least 15-20+ years. Her & her staff have always been so caring, kind & helpful every time we’ve come in. Knowing us & our kitties by name when we come in. Prices are so reasonable as well.She saved one of our cat’s lives, & I will forever be grateful for the extra years I was able to spend with him because of her.

Would definitely give zero stars if I could! Worst customer service I’ve ever come across at a veterinarian clinic!! I used to work at Horizon Veterinary Clinic and the doctor and staff were so compassionate towards ALL animals and the humans as well. This clinic has no compassion whatsoever and I nor anyone I know will NEVER visit this place again. Jesup needs to do better!! If you love your animals look elsewhere!

Jesup Vet clinic is one of the best around! Dr.Reid truly cares about all your animals and knows their name right when you walk in the door. She saved one of my cats this past week after he got hit by a car. If it wasn’t for her he wouldn’t be here. No matter a big problem or something routine your animal is checked over throughly.Thank you to all the amazing staff at Jesup Vet Clinic! I am so thankful for you.

Have taken all my pets there for years. Our German shorthair was having intestinal issues we did everything they asked and switched food to their recommendation and several more appointments we decided to get a 2nd opinion from another vet which figured issue out first go around. The time came for our dogs shots we called to get appointment and they said since we were no longer their patient they wouldn’t do them. Today or dog had accident in the woods and needed stitches and since it was emergency we called beings they are 4 miles away and again rejected. Im not sure why they are so mad snout us getting a 2nd opinion but how distasteful. I would recommend picking any other vet in the state before recommending this joke of a place.

I had a stray cat hanging around our house and it came back one day severely injured. I called the closest vet to ask them to put this poor kitty out of it misery even though I wasn’t a client. I couldn’t allow it to die slowly and painfully. And they refused to help. So much for animal welfare or even just compassion. DO NOT RECCOMEND. The very next vet I called again not a client of but closest to my home allowed us to come 15 minutes before closing.

Edit: I had the same experience as others are commenting on here. If you have an emergency situation and you are not a client this clinic will not provide care for your animal. This can be an huge inconvenience for those in the surrounding area or passing through and not near their primary vet. Leaving this feedback so others are aware in the event they find themselves in a similarly situation and try calling this clinic for help.

We’ve been going to this vet for about 5 years now, but after this last visit, I would NOT recommend them. They lost three patients/clients over this.(Sorry it's so long)First of all, my cat gets car-sick, so every trip to the vet results in him drooling like an eel and throwing up; putting him in stress.Jig was having issues where he was vomiting almost every day, just foam and bile, no food despite him eating more than his sister. So when we took both cats to get there standard vaccines, they wanted to wait on Jig’s.They put him on a 10 day medication, and had us switch his food to a prescription one. After trying a few different vet foods, and Jig having diarrhea and not using the litter box, he started getting better. His poop firmed up (combo of meds and first food made it soft), and he started using the litter box again, and he wasn’t throwing up anymore.We took him back to get the vaccinations, in the middle of all that. And now, he has developed a possibly cancerous lump between his shoulder blades, from the injection sight. Apparently this is a thing that can happen, though rarely, and they never warned us about keeping an eye on the injection sight, so that we could catch any lumps early.They never once asked for a stool sample, though we took one in anyway this last visit. Which the doctor says she checked, but she wasn’t gone very long. And they never took any other samples at any point.And the thing that ended our using this vet, is when we took him in the get the lump checked out, Barbara Fox (fill in vet) suggested using “essential oils” on it (from her personal supply). Like essential oils is going to do any good against cancer. And I looked it up later, and essential oils DO NOT mix well with cats, as in TOXIC.I was already upset and worried, and maybe I was a little rude about telling her that I don’t believe in essential oils. But they didn’t actually solve anything; Jig is back to runny poop, on the floor, and now he has a lump.We were asked not to go back, but I was already not going to, not after all the stress they put my baby through with all the extra, unnecessary car trips and everything else.I have nothing to say about the main vet, Shelly Reid.

A few weeks ago, we had to have our sweet little Snauzer Payton Rose put down. She was so injured, but the Jesup clinic tried their best to save her. We received a wonderful card from Dr. Reid . Her words about Payton were so kind and wonderful. Great clinic.!!

We've been going here for 15 years, have always entrusted them with our animals. But today was a HUGE let down. I called 2 days ago, needed an appointment for our lab, who is not herself, and is not eating. Was told they couldn't get me in. Finally got the appt. set and then got a call an hour before my appt, being told it was being canceled. When I called in I was told that because of new Covid rules, and that I hadn't been there in a couple years that I was no longer a client, and that they were not accepting new clients!! Ended up taking my lab to the CR emergency clinic and ran tests. Found out that most likely she has cancer! Thanks for nothing, I will never return.

It pains me to give nice people bad reviews, but when the service isn't there, it just isn't.We have two male black lab pups. We originally went away from Cedar Falls clinics to here based on price. We did save a lot in the early months of our pups. However, here is the sequence of events in the last 24 hours:Monday nightEntire side of pups face is tennis ball size swollen, we know that the pups are teething so it's most likely a tooth. There have been many documented cases of infected teeth causing serious complications, including death, especially in children and puppies. So we took it seriously.Tuesday 0730Call Jesup Vet, get the emergency line. Are told we need to make an appointment, because an infection and intense facial swelling are not emergencies apparently? Call Cedar Falls vet, who the pup is not a patient of, and get in in a reasonable time.Tuesday 0800Call Jesup in the deemed 'acceptable time frame' and cannot get an appointment until very late.Tuesday 1530CF Vet determines tooth is in bad shape and infected, must be removed. Call Jesup for a chance to redeem themselves, but they will not make an office visit until Wednesday and refuse to do a surgery until Thursday, even though we know what the issue is. They also refuse to give estimates.Even though the pup was acting very morose throughout his injury, he has a higher pain tolerance than you and I, of this I'm sure. It's not the pain that concerns me, it's the infection spreading throughout his bloodstream, dangerous for a full grown animal, let alone a young.Again, nice people, affordable price. But the service wasn't there when I needed. Won't risk a situation with a broken bone, will have to take our business to someone more responsive.(I apologize for the long review, I figured people would want details as to not assume that I'm indignant over a small issue and blowing smoke.)

We have taken our cats and dogs here for almost 15 years. I made an appointment,received a messsge a couple days later saying they cancelled the appointment? I called to ask do I need to reschedule? She informed me that she was told I was not happy with services last time there so cancelled my appointment. I have NEVER said that. I asked to speak with who stated this. She came back and said she could refer another vet. No professionalism there. SHELLY should have spoken with me when she had down time after work or?

Misdiagnosed our cat, leading to his eventual death. Seems they are too busy (or just don't care) about the animals they are supposed to be helping. Even reading their responses to some of the complaints on here is cringe-worthy.
