My parents just picked up there dog. Not happy. They put her in a bigger kennel. Which cost more. They lost her favorite blanket. There where more treats given than should be. She has lost weight. They lost her favorite blanket. Would not recommend. Has gone down hill sence Tammy has retired.

I absolutely recommend this clinic to anyone who is looking to establish new vet care! The staff are all great and prioritize the health & happiness of their patients. The clinic was very clean, prices were comparable to other vet clinics in the Ames area, and I've never waited longer than a few minutes in the exam room to be seen. During my last couple of visits, I met with Dr. Haban and Dr. Peters. Both vets were knowledgeable & thorough. My dog has had some ongoing skin issues that wouldn't clear up, but Dr. Haban was able to get it resolved with a new & more effective treatment plan. Thank you to all the staff at Companion Animal Clinic for making it a comfortable & happy experience for us. :)

My dog got spayed here and they were really helpful through that whole process. They even answered questions over text and regularly called to check in post-surgery. Their app is also helpful with organization and vaccination reminders. They are a bit expensive, but I think it is a worthy expense.

The staff at Companion Animal Clinic always make me feel at ease, and sends me pictures of my baby when they take care of her. They are very thorough and knowledgeable at each appointment, and I trust them 100%!

Just got my girl. She is very despondent, has lost weight. They lost her favorite blanket. Charged more for boarding because they put her in a larger kennel, or so they say! Did not explain any of that before hand. Since Dr.Tammie left this place has gone into the toilet. Will never go back & would never recommend this hell hole to anyone!

The staff here are all so nice and very knowledgeable! They are very prompt and I’ve never had to wait longer than a couple of minutes for the vet. Unlike any other vet I’m been to over the years. The space is clean and the staff are all wonderful. Highly recommend!!!

The Veterinarians are kind and caring. They are good with our cats and it is easy to schedule appointments and get our cat'smedications filled with the online pharmacy.

It was a wonderful experience from the moment I called up till I walked out the door. A staff member cheerfully answered the phone and kindly answered all of my questions and talked about prices with me so I could get a rough estimate. I was greeted warmly by the staff and the lobby was clean, organized, and welcoming. While I was filling out the new client paperwork, a tech patiently waited for me to complete the form instead of trying to move forward with the history; it was nice not to feel rushed.During the exam I was able to express my concerns and the doctor took time to explain his findings in a way easy to understand and let me know all of my options. I didn't feel pressured to make one decision over another and I felt like I had the power to decide and they were there to help carry out a plan that worked best for Jax and me.Everyone I came in contact with that day made me feel like Jax and I were more than just a 12:15 appointment; I was stressed and worried and the way they interacted with me helped decrease my anxiety and they took the time to make it a wonderful experience.Simply put: high quality care and high quality staff.

We followed Dr. Haban from his previous practice because he always gives excellent care to our dog and cat. We are happy that we can go to a locally owned practice. His team is friendly and caring.Updating this to share that recently both Dr. Peters and Dr. Haban saw our dog because something seemed "off." Both took a careful, thorough approach and Dr. Haban was concerned enough to fit us in last minute to run an additional test and then stayed late on the next day (Sat.) to administer a treatment so I didn't have to worry the rest of the weekend. I'm convinced his instincts and quick action saved my dog's life- or at the minimum a stay in an emergency hospital.

Their front desk was welcoming, flexible and kind. This was our first experience taking our cats here and they organized health histories from past vet experiences smoothly. Dr Peters took his time with us. He let them listen to the cat's heartbeat and educated my kids about pet care. I got helpful advice about best practice for potential health problems and what to watch for/how to recognize them.

Our fur baby, Lucy, just had a dental cleaning as well as 2 teeth pulled. The clinic kept us informed of how she was doing and checked in on her the next day to see how she was doing. She was a bit loopy when she first came home, but was great the next day.They also have cared for our cat Greybear. They got us in quickly when he had an infection in his paw.I don't trust my fur babies to just anyone. I am vey confident that their health is in good hands.

I have been coming here for several years and their so accomidating,friendly, and willing to fit you in of they can. They are also so nice with my dog daughters. When we list one of our dogs 2 years ago to a train, they were very empathitic and helped with the process.

We love Companion Animal Clinic! They are companionate with our Border Collie, and give her the best care! The doctor calls himself to share results of tests and to answer any questions you may have. We boarded our dog with them this last weekend and they took excellent care of her!

My older dog hates having her nails clipped and has never cooperated having them done. It always takes two people holding her and quite a bit of time to get the job done. My last experience was awesome. I was given a stick full of peanut butter to offer her. She couldn't refuse it and they were able to clip her nails in less than 5 minutes! Both employees were so sweet with her and her nails were clipped to the length expected. Not one yelp out of her! It was a wonderful experience for both of us. Thank you!

Companion Animal Clinic is the best. My dogs wag their tails and run to the door. The staff is welcoming and they're all calm which helps the appointment remain calm. Dr. Haban has gotten blood from my dog who wouldn't let anyone else do it in the previous 5 years. Great experience. He's going surgery today to remove a suspicious lump from our female. We caught it early and hope for the best. She's in good hands.

Dr. Haben is kind and gentle with my dog and cat and makes good recommendations for their care. I had to have an elderly, sick cat euthanized and he was compassionate and gentle with the kitty and us. I’m very happy with my animals’ care at Companion Animal Clinic.
