Sad to see what this store has become. This place used to be a must stop when traveling through NE IA. The store is dirty, many of the cooler displays are not working, the sign outside says soft serve which (sadly) no longer appears to be available, the bathroom dryer doesn’t work, food prices have gone up and quality down, the playground outside has tall grass growing around it, and to top it off the only employee working was on a video call with his buddies the entire time I was in the store. It’s disappointing for the Elkader community to see what was once a great spot become a black eye. I’m not usually a negative review person and am hopeful that this review sparks some changes. Two stars because the potential is still there for the owners to turn it around.

This place is a rip off! Highway robbery. If you must, Dont buy the food, very dissapointed. $5 for what said on package was a western omelete Sandwich,just to open it up and it was only 2 eggs on 2 pieces of bread.What a rip off. You been warned..

Gross bathrooms, no prices on soda, and they no longer offer a discount if you buy something in store - only if you pay on cash. Would not recommend.

Prepaid for $50 in gas a week ago. Only got $38 in gas, rest never got put back in my bank account.

The new owner is terrible. Diesel is and has been $1.30 over Nadings in Strawberry since they bought the place. $4.99 vs $3.69 on 3/20/23. Highly recommend you stop anywhere else they don't own and save yourself a ton of money. He won't notice. He's too busy talking on his phone rolled up in his shirt sleeve. Sure sad it was sold to an outsider.

I am a small business owner myself and don’t usually leave reviews but this is the absolute worst service I’ve ever received anywhere. And I’ve been everywhere. Do not go here. Support local business owners and go downtown for gas/food whatever. This place SUCKS since the new people took over. rude, unprofessional, TERRIBLE

Good choices of many different items. The prices I feel for the area are steep compared to other gas stations. I like the edgewood locker section. They have a deli like area were they make their own food. The staff will greet you each time. Sometimes there is a wait to check out but that is because they are helping others. Occasionally they do make baked goods and give them away to customers and they are good. Easy to see right off of highway 13.

Fresh made foods including local meats and cheeses make this much more than a convenience store. So glad random chance led us here for a pit stop. Clean store, very friendly people and now lunch in the cooler for the road!

Has semi truck parking. Store has a lot of different snacks, sandwiches and homemade desserts. A little bit pricey but it's what you pay for to have convenience. Store is clean and staff was friendly.

Great little hidden Gem. They have a hot deli with hamburgers 🍔 Fried chicken 🍗 and hot to order subs... Plenty of beer and liquor!!!
