When buying products with extra medicare benefits, such as, food, OTC meds, and emergency type items, it would be beneficial if Walgreens provided a list of covered items. The problem is scanning the products at check out and not knowing the items covered and ending up paying cash for uncovered items. Last time shopping, the benefit wouldn't cover trail mix nuts, but covered candy. Is there a catch? Am I doing something wrong or do they just need to correct the issue for customers and employees. It seems like there would be an easy solution to this and it would've not even been an issue prior to the new benefits for Medicare beneficiaries. Any feedback would be appreciated!

The staff and the service are usually pretty good, but the pharmacy is a freaking joke. As of this month (November 2021) , they are closed on weekends and on weekdays, open at 10, close at 6, and closed for half an hour in the middle of the day. How anyone who works 9-5 all week is meant to use this service is beyond me. I'm sure there is a reason, but this is just an absolute mess. If you're looking for a place to run your prescription through? This isn't it.

I stopped coming to this Walgreens over a year ago. Customer service was TERRIBLE, and the phone hold time for the pharmacy was usually 20-30 minutes.This past year, after staying away for 6 months, I decided to come back and see if there were any changes.And guess what? There were!!!There is a new store manager, Christine, and she has TURNED THIS PLACE AROUND!Now, there’s OUTSTANDING customer service, and I haven’t had to wait on hold for the pharmacy for over 5 minutes since the management change.Christine, the new store manager, has worked very hard, and has turned it into a store that I enjoy visiting. Oh, and the pharmacy staff has been trained since she began. Now the wait times are short, and the staff is customer-oriented rather than a chaotic mess.Thanks for making this Walgreens an excellent place to shop and get my prescription needs met!

3rd shift rocks unless your the lady that is allergic to perfume can you get spray any smell it you want to buy it in the store because she's allergic to it. when people go to buy perfume they want to smell it before they buy it the lady with the long hair that works third shift ask her to smell perfume lol She needs to get a new job for real. But if you are looking for a fast way to get in and out and can afford it the great place to shop.

Horrible customer service! Had my insurance call in an hour prior to me arriving after dealing with issues for two weeks and they refused to give me my prescription without me paying full price because they stated they didn’t receive the call! Imagine my surprise when not even 5 minutes later they are trying call saying to come back in but only after I make a scene! If you like being jacked around go here, they’re great at it!

Avoid the drive thru. Been here several times and each time is over 20 minute wait for 1 prescription.The inside of this store is dirty. The floors are littered with garbage and dirt.The aisles are bare and littered with stock boxes half open and scattered.I could not find what I needed and staff were overwhelmed due to staffing.I recommend avoiding this store.

Just started getting prescriptions here. My Dr. called in a prescription on Tuesday...now it's Friday at 4:15 p.m. and it's still not filled. When I stopped in yesterday the pharmacist looked completely wore out like she hadn't slept in days and had terrible "bedside manner"So far...not impressed

I usually have no problem with this Walgreens. However avoid the drive thru pharmacy.... I've been sitting behind 1 car for over 20 minutes now. I can't reverse because of the car behind me. The people at the window are apparently being allowed to sit and hold everything up while the pharmacist fill their prescription.

Sarah is very rude and because of her I WILL NEVER RETURN.I've been a loyal customer for over 10 years and I visit the store 3-4 times a week.When I went to swipe my cc I noticed there was blood on the screen and the buttons so I asked Sarah if I could please get a wet wipe or paper towel so I can clean the screen and buttons which at that time she said there weren't any.I mentioned that I was not going to touch anything that has blood on it so can she please help me out.Sarah finally returns with paper towels and stated that I did not have the right to wipe off the screen or buttons with sanitizer.I asked her why not she stated that I was going to mess up the buttons.I then asked wiping off the buttons is going to mess up the buttons..really? She then started hollering at me asking me who do I think I am wiping off the buttons.I said first of all Sarah you should not be arguing let alone hollering at a customer.She then picked up the phone and said she was calling the Manager because I was wiping off the machine..I said you can call the Manager..Gm..Ceo and I will gladly tell them what I did.She walked away once again stating she was going to tell on me.Luckily Kim who was the other cashier was there to save the poor customer service given to me by Sarah.She apologized about the situation and helped me quickly with my transaction.She was very polite,professional and understanding of my frustration.Once my transaction was finished she once again apologized.You need more staff like Kim and less like Sarah.I will say not one Manager came to help with the situation which I wish they would have and I may not have written this so everybody can see the poor customer service given by Sarah

I went to the pharmacy today and I had to wait for an hour to get 2 and then had to wait another10 mins for the other one. I used to love the staff there especially Amanda but she is no longer there.I know everywhere is short handed but this day they had 3 techs and 1 pharmacist.

Went and was checked out in the front by Alexis she was great and offered amazing customer service! Definitely went above and beyond to help me out. She was so sweet and by far best service I've ever received from a Walgreens associate.

Stopped in to pick up my FedEx package and while I was waiting, overheard two workers gossiping about someone else right by the register which was completely unprofessional. When someone came to assist me with my package, the lady was very rude and snarky. Also, 3 out of 4 employees that I saw did not wear a mask. Terrible customer service.

Beware: Do NOT go to this pharmacy. It is totally UNRELIABLE. If you need service, your medication filled, go somewhere else. They are short staffed. They close the pharmacy on a day it is suppose to be open and don't notify you. They tell you to come back and NO ONE is there to even fill the prescription. DO NOT GO THERE if you need something right away.

Some of these reviewers are sensitive and entitled 😂. The attitude of the service matches the attitude of the neighborhood. If you looking for somewhere to spread your entitlement go to a west Des Moines one. These foos are just doing their jobs and some of y’all weren’t raised right. Work on your patience before working on anybody else.

This is by FAR the absolute WORST pharmacy in Des Moines. It is ridiculously slow and the service is awful. I stopped in on my way home after MAJOR surgery. My prescriptions had been sent over by the hospital. When we got there, they said 10 minutes. Waited for an hour!!Today... i called at 10am for a medication refill with a pick up time of 3pm. Got there at 530pm and stood in line for 15 minutes (the people in the drive.thru clesrly get top priority versus the 5 people standing in line at the counter) and when it was my turn, they said they couldnt fill it until they could contact my insurance. I asked why no one called to tell me this since it was a 3pm pick up. They would no answer me. I got irritated and said i needed the meds for my stomach (due to the surgery) and the pharmacist said he would give me a few pills to last until they could contact my insurance. Stood there for 5 minutes while he kept working without actually helping me and then i walked out. Called a different pharmacy as soon as i was in my car to transfer my prescription.The service is so slow, there is ZERO customer care, and no actual customer serviceIf you cant fill it... call and tell the person before they drive over and wait!!

Not a bad store the only problem I had with it, was it being near East High School. It was pretty crowded with teenagers (mainly freshman aged girls) that were kinda rude for the most part.

I've had one of the employees that got lippy. Also if be tried looI went and loaded my prepaid and same night fraudulent transaction were mad and it's the only place I went. Company said someone's system was ha cked I've tried looking up their main office # but no luck

The pharmacy staff at this location is absolutely horrible!! They have no idea what they are doing an are very rude! I will definitely be switching to CVS as this is not the first time the service has been bad.

I've always liked going to Walgreens to pick up items. If you have the card you can save money which is a really good deal. Don't forget about red nose day coming up folks

I spent 30 minutes in the drive thru to get my prescription. Unfortunately there was a car behind me so I couldn’t get out...at least 10 minutes per car, as there were only 2 people in front of me the whole time.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PHARMACY, HORRIBLE SERVICE THE LADY AT THE PHARMACY WINDOW NAMED AMY WAS RUDE AND NOT SMART AT ALL. SHE HAD A ATTITUDE ABOUT NOTHING, SHE ACTS LIKE SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE IS DOING BUT SHE DOESNT. THIS WALGREENS PHARMACY IS HORRIBLE. SHE CALLED ME TODAY AND LEFT ME A VOICEMAIL STATING SHE GAVE ME SOMEONE ELSES INSURANCE CARDS. (LIKE WHAT THE HELL LADY THAT IS UR ERROR NOT MINE) I DIDNT LOOK AT IT SINCE SHE PUT MY DEBIT CARD/HSA CARD/INSURANCE CARD IN A ENVELOPE AND ME ASSUMING THAT I HAD EVERYTHING I NEEDED BACK DIDNT CHECK. WELL SHE CALLS ME AND LETS ME KNOW I HAVE SOMEONE ELSES INSURANCE CARD BUT WHERE IS MINE? I DIDNT GET MINE BACK. SHE CLAIMED SHE GAVE IT BACK TO MY FIANCE BUT HE DIDNT GET IT EITHER. SHE IS A HORRIBLE NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE WORKER. I CALLED HER BACK AND TOLD HER I GOT HER VOICEMAIL AND DIDNT REALIZE I HAD ANOTHER PERSONS CARD TIL SHE CALLED ME, THEN SHE STARTED HAVING AN ATTITUDE SAYING I NEEDED TO BRING THE CARD BACK. I TOLD HER I HAVE TO WORK AND ALL SHE SAID WAS WELL THE OTHER PERSON NEEDS THEIR PRESCRIPTION. DO U THINK I CARE? NO I HAVE TO WORK AND I DONT HAVE TIME TO BRING SOMEONE ELSE INSURANCE CARD BACK TO WALGREENS WHEN I WORK. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THAT YOU ARE GETTING THE RIGHT PRESCRIPTION/MEDS. I WILL NEVER USE THIS PHARMACY AGAIN.

horrible pharmacy service, my OB doctor prescribe me some prenatal vitamins, low in iron, cuz it was causing me nausea and vomit and the pharmacist didn't want to give me my refill cuz the ones over the counter were cheaper..no body asked her!
