I love this store but not happy about my last visit!!! All employees are very friendly and helpful that’s not my problem. I come in there last Friday to get a gallon of Birch Forest green paint for my living room. I just got done painting 2 walls in the room and it looks like the color jade!!! The girl mixed the paint codes for the color above the one I chose. I’m above and beyond angry. So now instead of having a forest green living room I have a jade living room. I just hope the quart I picked out for my accent wall goes with this color or I’m going to be furious!!!They need to pay attention!!! Don’t get paint mixed here and if you do make sure you check it before you leave!!!!Wont be buying paint from here again!!!!

Another racist and unprofessional HR department to add on my list for Des Moines, IA. The Caucasian female hiring manager has tattoos and messed up bed head hairdo + unfriendly towards me during the job interview. Unbelievable to be interviewed out where customers and Menards employees can eavesdrop on your conversation. Yes, instead of being interviewed in a private office with a door, you have to do a job interview at a table with partitions. The HR person better have applicants' confidential/personal information locked up. Also, the HR gal tells me about a job opening that is available (and I am very qualified for it). In regards to getting me hired on, says she'll call me by a certain time in the afternoon later that day, but never calls. I had to call the store to speak with her. Guess what, that quick she says the job is no longer available, then tries to offer me some other job in a different department that I had expressed disinterest in during the interview...very interesting and sad experience that day.

It should not take over an hour to pull 2 parts when I send in a pick up order ! I thought the purpose of online ordering was to eliminate the wait ! I ordered parts drove 20 minutes to get to store then sat in parking lot for 56 minutes !

A good place to get furniture, appliances and many other home related items. The place is ok but prices can definitely improve. Also there are several aisles in which nobody is available to provide information or solve doubts. A good place that can for sure be better.

I buy thousands of dollars on materials everyweek. But the last visit was horrible costumer service from a Latin girl in costumer service area. She was rude and no helpful at all. I’ll stay at Menards but if I see her I will not ask for help at all

I'm kind of hamstrung going to this location based on where we live. Typically pulling a trailer there is 45 mins one way. Showed up today for some materials to pick up in the outdoor lumber yard. Ordered, paid, go outside. They're out of a majority of my order. Cost me (almost) a day's work as I was there for over 2 hours plus travel.NOBODY CARED!!I got laughed at by a forklift driver...Spoke with a manager (he was kind enough to help me load some plywood indoors as I had a second order of materials to grab) and I debunked half dozen of his excuses as to why their inventory counts were off.I DIDN'T CARE!!I don't spend huge contractor money at this location, but over a few thousand a month. I'll go out of my way and give the West Des Moines location a shot, I guess. I've liked Menards for many years, but this isn't good for a guy like me anymore.

hauled a trailer 47mi.— ordered and paid for my order—drove around back to load—-after chasing people down to locate my material. I was told they had none on hand !! Back inside they tell me they can order me some in 4-5 days But I was to pay $19.00 for lumber to ship my order AND to pay $ 25.00 to ship it in—- NOT !!went to lowes and will from now on !!

As a contractor, I have to purchase material almost daily and Menards usually has the cheapest prices for almost all the stuff I use, plus you receive an 11% in-store rebate which adds up very quickly. It's nice getting $250-350 every 3 or 4 weeks to use towards a project. The one major downside is the delivery service is way overpriced and they don't offer stocking drywall any longer, Lowes will deliver to any job site for $20. Weigh your options carefully.

People complain about self check out all the time, I might as well have worked there in the yard today me and my bad leg up and down stairs to find materials I purchased with zero help finding, loading or any other help. Materials while way over priced we're horrible not a straight 4x4 cedar to be had? This place is horrible

You have amazing employees. Today I had an extremely stressful and scary situation with my children and as soon as they heard what was going on there was a flight of 10 employees that came out to help make sure the parking lot was safe for others. I have never felt so safe anywhere shopping and this will now forever be my go to store.

I was looking for a product that I was not sure if they would have.All toll I had five associates including two department managers help me look, including computer searches.It turns out that they did not have what I was looking for,They did find options that they could order and ideas where else I could look.Great people trying to help a fella out, Good Job.

Had an issue with my water heater. I just put it in in March of 2021.. The gal at the customer service desk was awesome and very helpful. Update: I ordered some prorib charcoal gray steel metal. I picked it up yesterday and hauled it to my farm in Southern Iowa. I unpacked it, and my wife and I unloaded it. As we were unloading it, we saw there were blemishes in the paint where it wasn't painted. I called Menards today to see what they would do to make it right. They said they would reorder and replace the damaged pieces. But, here is the thing. I hauled it all the way down to my farm. I have no desire to reload it and take it all the way back up there. Then, take the replacement pieces down again. Each trip is like 81 miles. Gas is over $3 a gallon. My time is worth something as well. Poor quality and terrible customer service in this situation. They need to reduce the price and save me all the hassle and work of going back and forth because of their mistakes. Terrible terrible deal. Each defective piece has the same defect in the same area. Customer service really sucks!

I use to shop at the orange store but with everyone doing price matching I prefer this place with the everything in the store rebate that they offer. 99% of all building supplies that I need are always found here with nice organized by logical methods. Always helpful staff to get anything done for me, be it figuring out how to complete a project or start a new one. I love that I can get hardware, milk and a toy for the kids in the same place. They occasionally will rearrange the store for a few items that frustrates me until I get the new spots mapped out in my head. I normally can be in and out in less then 10 minutes if in a rush but still am able to spend hours upon hours in the store. The only negative thing that is kinda annoying is that they make their customers bag their own merchandise, while having kids trying to pay and bag everything up to get out of the way for the next person in line. It’s still better then being forced to check out merchandise myself while being watched like a convict in prison by a perfectly competent employee who is actually paid to know how to operate the register. I did get a cashier who was super today, who actually bagged my stuff while she checked the items. By the time I had loaded the merchandise and processed the payment my items were bagged and ready to go that was the southside location though they are much more helpful it's kind of a bit out of my way to get there.

I went looking for a particular brand of black mulch and wasn't able to find it. I was very unimpressed by the fact that the lady at the garden counter couldn't look up any information about mulch on her computer, even though the mulches sold in the garden department, so I had to walk all the way to the opposite side of the store to the building department to find out about it. The employee who helped me in that department was rude and kept telling me that they had mulch of the brand I wanted and black mulch out there, even though I asked if they had ecology brand black mulch, not just any black mulch.

As we were checking out my son had noticed a outdoor solar light i was purchasing was broken. She wouldnt even get someone to exchange it. "You have to go to Customer Service ". Wow. She had no willingness to even help me. Could of been so easy. Was so appalled by the incident that I just wanted to get out of there. No personal service whatsoever. Sad.

Everything seemed orderly and clean. As I was walking down an aisle an employee gave me a friendly greeting. I really appreciated the fact that, as I stood in another isle looking for the drywall mud (my husband sent me to buy) a different employee politely asked if he could help me find anything. So many times you can never find anyone to help you in a home improvement store. So, all in all, I had a very nice experience.

Always a pleasure I feel like the staff are friends have seen the same smiling jekyll associates there for years. That says a lot considering how the workforce seems to just run through employees these days. Very comfortable atmosphere and helpful. I love the weird little seasonal items. It's great. I love menards.

I have been coming here for years but recently started going to another location more often. However, on my most recent trip I made a special trip to this location to get a load of siding that was not available in the quantity I needed elsewhere. When I got everything paid for and out to the yard the pile was all but empty, not the 100+ pieces that were supposed to be there. I was told by the persons working in that area that "the inventory must be off". I was able to talk with the manager Justin and he was able to get it the missing inventory found, or at least motivate the right people to look for it. I was happy he was able to help and I didn't leave upset, having made a special trip an hour each way with a borrowed trailer on a day I took off from work just for the occasion. Thanks to everyone who helped get what I needed at a time that things are hard to get.

These folks are great! I made a large mistake, they went out of their way to help me correct it. I'll be going back to this store just based on customer service.this store hasn't really changed. The staff is good, the stuff I need is easily found, check out is still easy. I'll go back to this store any time I need something.

The place has awesome amount of products, and a variety of choices. BUT, the associates are hard to find, and most have no clue how to help (so they make up answers). If you find the right associate, your experience will be incredible!!!
