Kwik Star has great prices on gas. Have good fresh fried chicken. fresh meat selection,grocery product selections. They have monthly specials which are good values. Food specials, dairy, meat or produce. They have a nice selection of hot GRAB AND GO foods. Love the smoked string cheese.

I don’t know what it is about this Kwik St at specifically but I have never seen their food section stocked. Every time I stop here for lunch there is only fish sandwiches and chicken available. The rest of the Kwik stars have a great selection but this one doesn’t

Do not buy diesel from QuickStar. They've changed all their handles out and none of them fit in the sleeve for the gas nozzle and it spills fuel all over the place. Second time I've done this now they will not click off automatically. They will pour gas all over the ground and quick start. Employees don't seem to care or want to do anything about it.

For the most part, it's a fast and friendly place! Store is always clean! I think a couple of them live there...JK but I swear no matter when I stop in, they are there working with a smile!

Very friendly and helpful staff. The best fried chicken. I bought 3 pc chicken tenders and I mean they were HUGE. (Like 1/2chicken breast each). Hot fresh, moist and juicy. IThe best chicken anywhere. Their ready made meals are very good too. Everything I've tried there has been fresh and good. Low prices make it even a better deal. Also, check out their daily specials too. They have a new item , honey butter batter shrimp . It was very good. They do an excellent job.

Like shopping there even though prices are high. Good soup. Lots of combinations for drinks and shakes. It's more than a convenience store; like a small store. Like their cheese curds and quick meals available. The rewards card is nice.

A variety of foods to go. I've tried a few of there "hot" food selection and haven't been too impressed. Stay away from the cheese curds, they were the worst! The pizza was edible, but your better off with Casey's. The chicken is a hit-or-miss, depending on how long it has been sitting out, same with some of the breakfast sandwiches.The breakfast pastries and donuts are usually pretty good but a lot of times they have been picked over and not many left to choose from. Stay away from the homemade "Rice Krispies" treats up towards the counter, some of the worst things I have ever eaten in my life! I took 1 bite, and through the rest out for the birds when I got home.

Best gas station to buy practically any food. Your breakfast biscuits with your sandwiches are the best biscuits I think I may have ever eaten. But you need a double sausage. The size of the patty is sad. Charge an extra $.50 and make it a double sausage.Or at least put your 3 meat breakfast sandwich on a biscuit!

The staff are ALL great!! Immediately call for cashiers if more than 2 customers in line. As for the food, the prices are very reasonable and as for negative reviews, you aren't getting a $25 steak (beef) for $3!! I have had take home dinners and hot food and had nothing that looked "old" or tasted like anything but what is on the package label!! Donuts and pastries are never stale, so I am writing this to assure you, you outshine every other convenience store/ mini mart/ gas station in Des Moines!! Be nice if prices could be cheaper everywhere, tell that to the 3 billion a year in THEFT

Kwik Star has the best ready-made, ready-to-buy food around for those late nights that you haven't had a chance to eat and you're too tired to cook. Their chicken is not greasy, and their mashed potatoes must be homemade from scratch. Lastly, their cinnamon rolls are a real treat. Their counter help is friendly and efficient. Their prices are great for what you get.

Great place to stop for a fuel up and a quick bite. The food is always fresh and the staff is always friendly. This is my go to stop when in the area. Kwik Star seams to know there stuff. They always make sure they have people up front and a friendly smile to get the line rocking out the door. This is a good stop any day of the week. Also who knew milk in a bag was so amazing! Great prices on gas as well!

Placed an order via DoorDash. Waited in the store for a chicken sandwich and two egg rolls. After fifteen minutes of waiting I approached the register per door dash instructions . The cashier came back with no food once again and said four more minutes. The entire time I waited they stocked the hot food full! I asked if I could take the items from the grill and the cashier bagged the stuff by throwing it in the bag and LITERALLY threw the bag at me. This is my first week living in Des Moines and this woman should be fired because this happened in front of her boss!

We stopped at this location today on the way to clean up my friends apartment that passed away, the chicken tenders was the bomb and the store was clean and we'll stocked. The cashier greeted us coming in. Made our day a little better considering the situation. Thank you!!

So I am new to the area and this corner store has become my go to spot simply out of convenience. It’s like a mini grocery store offering a wider variety of of items for purchase which I appreciate and the staff is always friendly which is an added plus BUT the hot items for purchase are another story… the angus beef is questionable to what is actually being digested, you say beef I say yeah right, try again. The bacon croissant sandwiches are again a let down and question to what is actually being sold but the most recent experience with the egg/sausage croissant that presented an egg with green tent has really got me like, eww wow what is this and don’t get me started on the chicken tenders, mashed potatoes and stale donuts… I suggest sticking to your most needed or common items for purchase at this chain like gas, lottery tickets, beverages and snack items like peanuts and cashews.

A good addition to the area. Their presence has added more competition which has caused gas prices to drop amongst themselves and some of the other gas stations nearby.They usually have a couple of good sales going on, but nothing like when they first opened.I haven't tried the car wash yet, but it is nice knowing it is there as the one down the street is now a pain to get into, so will have to check that out soon.

Thank you to Chantal at Kwik Star on Hubbell Ave for quickly and easily handling a refund for a car wash that got charged to my card twice. She handled it herself, without a runaround from a third party car wash vendor. I am so pleased with the customer service!!

Disrespectful staff and they also get upset if you show up more than once in the same week. They do mention it. So just drive 1 minute in any direction to find another gas station.

Get charged for some for lottery tickets. When we only bought a fountain and 1 liter of mountain dew .its sad when we go there 2 to 3 days aweek and spend a lot of money there ..... and they wouldn't refund are money wow i guess they just lost a good customer

I finally got a chance to visit! Everyone I know has been very happy with Kwik Star.The store is very clean, a lot of variety, very good food! The chicken is as good as I'd heard it would be! The staff is amazing!I recommend highly!

Staff great 5 stars.The manager does the ordering for skoal straight long cut.. Never orders enough always out. 90 percent time.never have any cans. So dont waste your time going there for.skoal straight
