I have been using the Hy-Vee Pharmacy on East Euclid for 3 years, every since I moved from West Des Moines to the northeast side. I am 65 years old and have chronic medical conditions. That means, I am no stranger to pharmacies. I have used pharmacies in Iowa, Illinois,Arizona, Kansas, etc. This is the WORST Pharmacy I have ever experienced. They make numerous mistakes and give out conflicting information about why the mistake was made, depending on which staff member I talk to. The only reason I stick with them is because I like the delivery people, especially Joel. He is a wonderful person and does an excellent job delivering my prescriptions.

Came in for breakfast and waited 45 min. When I finally got my food it had sat so long that my egg yolk was dried on my plate. My plate was actually dirty, like someone made the plate and scraped it off to reuse it. I had potatoes on my plate and I didnt even order potatoes. Just a horrible job by the staff this morning. I love Hy Vee!!! Just not this morning. Shame on the kitchen for totally dropping the ball. Wish I would of took a picture of the food and plate.

This is a horrible pharmacy. Every time I go in it takes over 10 minutes to get a transaction done and this Sunday was no different.I wanted to get my flu shot and was waiting at the counter. Sally saw me and didn’t bother to come to the register until the pharmacist told her someone was up front. She gave me a paper to fill out for my flu shot and said it would be 10 minutes. After 10 minutes had elapsed I asked if there was an update and she said it would be 15 more minutes. So I would be waiting 25 minutes total for a flu shot? I told them to forget about it and I would go elsewhere.Overall none of the staff at this pharmacy seem friendly or like they remotely enjoy their position and it absolutely shows in their demeanor.

I would really like to rate this higher because I have had nice encounters with some of the staff members and one pharmacist. They have helped me many times.One small gripe:My issue is that I don't like how they say the name of whatever prescription I am picking up. They will now offer to go to a consultation room or go through the window. However, the windows are not always open.Prescription data is not the type of information you want people in your community knowing or discussing. One is not being given a choice here as to what data to share because they are disclosing it to you whether you want everyone else to hear about it or not.I hope their new management is more sensitive to this issue because no one wants to discuss their rights as patients and watch their providers or pharmacy or insurance company have an issue with them. Maybe other patients do not care, but I would like to keep my medical information to myself and also not ever have to explain HIPAA to people who should be trained on it.

This pharmacy never has script done. Today was no exception. Twice now my doctor has ordered prednisone in the early morning and it doesnt get filled til late afternoon which means I can't take til next morning unless I want to be up all night.Ugh

I have been getting my meds from here for more than 10 years. I am about to go somewhere else. The drive thru has become so slow. Instead of letting someone sit there and wait for their script to be filled, why not have them pull back around so you can take care of the other 5 waiting in line. I understand there can be a wait. However sitting in line for 25 min for the person in front of me to just then get their script filled is not at all ok. Also, the attitude of SOME of the staff is nasty. If you do not like your job or someone ruined your day, please do not take it out on me! Been very loyal to that HyVee, but in the last 3-4 years it has went down hill. Makes me sad.

My dr office called in a script at 10am and it was finally ready by 645pm. Finally able to get to the pharmacy by 730pm and it's closed. Website says they close at 8pm. This is my 3rd prescription filled here and they are the slowest to fill scripts. When someone is ill they need their scripts soonest. Not be made to wait until the next day. I'm going to find a new pharmacy.

So long as you dont come here for prescriptions its a great place. NOT once has my prescription ever been ready. Even giving them up to a week's notice. Going on year 2 and it's still the same.Edit: went to pick up my prescription 6 times in the last 4 days. It isnt ready or its not delivered yet. Then the lady just ignored me and moved onto someone else when i tried to ask what the delay was. Called my doc to switch pharmacies.

I have been going to this pharmacy for years. In the last year I have been treated very rudely. I called this morning at 9:10am. I know they opened at 9. The 1st girl was very nice but asked me to hold. The 2nd person asked me is this Margaret? I said yes. She said we will message or call you when your Prescription is done and it won't be until this afternoon. I said I'm getting ready to go grocery shopping in about an hour or so. She said well its going to be a while I literally just opened up. SHE WAS VERY RUDE. I said that's fine but you don't have to be so rude. She said ok and hung up.

I have been going to this pharmacy my entire life and I am not a young woman. I recently wanted to pick up a prescription, I still had a couple days of pills left but I needed dog food and wanted to do it all in one trip. Now if you all have been there you know there is NO PRIVACY, the pharmacist will talk to you about your condition right there in front of everyone! So, they tell me rudely, and loudly that I can't have this prescription yet, they treated me like I was drug seeking and I have never been so insulted in my entire life. In front of everyone they talked to me this way, after all these years! I've been on this medicine for YEARS!!I got to my vehicle and just cried. It was horrible. Now I am saying good-bye to Hy Vee pharmacy.

I normally have a good experience but today the lady who waited on the drive through had her mask dangling from her left ear. She proceeded to cough in her hand twice. I had to wait on some additional meds, so I left for 20 minutes. I stopped and called the pharmacy and spoke to someone. Told her about the incident. When I came back the second time the woman still had no mask on and again coughed into her hand. Maybe they hadn’t had a chance to talk to her, so I stopped again and left a message as the line was busy! I want to feel safe from Covid-19, especially at my pharmacy. The lady who waited on me was a small older lady with blonde short hair. Please address this with her. Thanks so much!!

Waited to mail a package 20 minutes. It was very busy though. After standing there for awhile and many of the clerks going right by me, I assumed I should have went to the other counter first. A sign would have been nice or if one of the clerks would have simply told me I had to go to the other counter first. They were pleasant after everyone else was gone and they finally acknowledged me and stepped over to help me.

Awful pharmacists. Every time I call for a status update on a refill, I get a different answer. It's been a week now. When I first asked about moving my prescriptions over here, I was told I needed to call the other pharmacy. When I called there, the pharmacist laughed and said "They should know better than that!! They need to call us." I don't have a car and this is the only one within walking distance, so I don't have another option.

Horrible Hy-Vee to get a prescription from. Our Dr's office normally calls them in so they are ready when we get there. The only problem is, they are NEVER ready when we get there. They tell me we just received it and it's going to be 10-15 minutes. 30 minutes later I get the prescription. If a Dr's office calls it in, you should begin doing it then. Not when the customer gets in the store.

I really like this pharmacy, I haven't been refilling my. RX's here very long, so I'm not sure why all the reviews are bad but my scripts are ready everytime i go and I've never had to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes...I usually don't go on the same day my doctor calls in the scripts, so that may be why! Thanks for great service...much better than a lot of these pharmacies in Des Moines...believe me when i say, I'VE BEEN TO A LOT!

I've been to SEVERAL pharmacies, unfortunately, in my lifetime. I've been going to Hy-Vee on E. Euclid for maybe 6 months now, and it's easily the best pharmacy in Des Moines By FAR!! I NEVER have any issues getting my medicine. I won't name drop but the pretty young lady with glasses is very sweet, and seems to honestly care about her customers. Same goes for the taller gentleman. He may be the manager I'm not too sure. But the entire staff cares about their customers and it truly shows. They do everything they can to make sure you get the medication you need. They understand that people need their medicine, and they bust their butts to get it to them. Thank God for this place. I believe it's because of the type of medication that I take, but both the Merle Hay Rd. and the SE14th location have treated me very poorly. I was worried that a good pharmacy didn't exist, and now I will never go anywhere else!!!

You can NOT treat people as though they are beneath you and expect to keep customers. I have been getting my rx filled here for approx 8 years and today was the last rx I will purchase from there. You can NOT dictate what someone does in their own vehicle especially when it is 6ft from you. Walgreens will now have my business plus their hours will work much better.

They are the slowest place in the earth! I went on a Saturday morning at 9am to drop of a prescription. They told me it would be 15 min, I went grocery shopping still was not ready they then told me 30 min. So I left and ran some more errands and came back three hours later... still nothing. I then sit and wait and 50 min later it was ready after I asked twice, and was being passed by others that came way after me. 1 prescription for 30 days. Even called to see if it was in stock before I came. Ugh so awful.

Worst Hy Vee to get prescriptions! I've called several hours after leaving the doctors office where they called in a prescription to see if its ready and they will say it'll be ready in a hour then you get there an hour later and they haven't even started on it yet, leaving you to wait another hour. Happens every time.

Drive-thru is somewhat difficult because it only handles three cars before it fills up and spills into the parking lot, otherwise everyone is friendly and prompt👍

My husband went and got my meds and they were very rude towards him about a prescription that he said he would pay for but they said they were waiting for approval from dr which was already approved they aren’t professional and didn’t even have a pharmacist explain any of the medicine

Sometimes you do have to wait but they are awfully busy. They are always attentive and very good at checking for insurance if cost is too high.

The people at the drive through window are usually very rude, slow, if you are in a hurry don't go through the drive through, go inside much quicker and you are treated much better
