DO NOT COME HERE.I dropped a loaded trailer at noon on Valentine's day 2-14-24. No empty for me. 'We will have one for you tonight'. I left my personal info on paper and it was thrown into the garbage. I drove five minutes across town to their other location, no empty. I asked what should I do. 'wait'Until when I asked. They couldn't tell me. I've been here almost 24 hours. Uh-- is dog food worth this hassle? Anyone know why inflation is where it is right now? People like this. 3 idiots in a guard shack doing nothing, knowing nothing, not caring. Stealing money from Purina pretending to work.

Drop & hook: Don’t go to the 607 Schmidt address, they’ll just make you turn around. First, go to the drop lot (1531 W. River Drive) and drop your trailer. Then, go to the Howell Guard Shack to get paperwork and for them to tell you where to pick up the loaded trailer. It will be in one of four lots. Howell Guard Shack is pinned in Google maps as Purina Guard Shack (500 S. Howell Street) Other than having to go to several different lots, this place is pretty easy. People are nice and helpful.

They have continuously have semi's blocking the left hand lane of West River drive.And they have semis parking on the right hand shoulder. Somebody's Going to be seriously injured or even killed because of this issue. They do not care and won't do anything about it.

I gave it two stars instead of one because they did offer a meal to us truckers that might not have a meal. As for the actual experience, well, it was a cluster..... Trucks everywhere, hard to get around. The local grain guys have no respect for OTR guys at all. They have porta potty that I think we can use. The guards were nice and friendly. If you are picking up you need to go to the guard shack on the east side of the building. You could from there be sent to one of several doors at several locations around the building.

One of the worst. Been waiting 3 hours just to get a door and now having to drop my trailer and bobtail out and wait for who knows how long. They don’t care about your clock or anything else and they are rude as well. I’m about an inch close to telling them how I feel and getting my trailer and leave. No professionalism at ALL

What a waste of time. Company doesnt care about the drivers time, especially now when we have ELD’s. Took them 3 hours to assign dock doors to a truck. You need to leave a yard from the other side of the building, drop a trailer and come back to the yard again to wait. 2 hours since I dropped a trailer and its not loaded yet… will try to avoid this shipper in the future. Really bad experience here…

Tanker driver delivering sharing his experience. All of the other reviews are spot on. I've been here for over 3 hours and they haven't even taken the sample. I've never had any other receiver take over 3 hours just to take a sample. Worst receiver I've encountered.

It takes 3hrs to check in. Not waiting. But you go to the guard shack to check in they send you around the block to park and check in. Given a piece of paper to go back to where you started at the first guard shack and they tell you to go to a different part of the building that you've already passed 3x for your door. Unhook. And sit for 4+ hours. They're overly nice. It makes it worse.

Shipping office tells me it normally takes 3 to 5 hrs to load. Unexceptable. There's no driver shortage if the shippers did their job in a timely fashion.

Few pointers about this location.1. To check in for pickup , you gotta use the guard shack on howell street, once you enter howel find a place to park outta the way, put on your vest and have a PU number starting with U300 or U301. Could be 9 digits long AND your drivers license with you.2. ONLY 1 PERSON AT A TIME, inside the shack. Dont be the dummie that doesnt know how to read.3. There are 2 signs there that state" live loads can take a minimum of 4 hours" so dont expect to be be in and outta here 😆.4. Gotta drop the trailer and bobtail to the side.5. You can check in up to 4 hours early. I would advise to come here 1 hour before though as both times i was here they didnt call me with a dock until 30 minutes before my appt so it could be pointless to be be here earlier than 1 hour.Last time here i was there for 5 hours and change after my appt so there is that.6. Bring lunch, good vibes aand hope that the loader didnt do a line that day and your trailer gets loaded right😆7. Your seal should be on the back of the trailer, so make sure to look for it before closing your doors.Thats it folks.

Completely horrible at loading . Will take all day to load your trailer when you’re sitting there waiting for it. Even showed up 30 minutes early for my appointment. I’d AVOID this place as much as possible!!

CHECK YOUR BOL FOR TIMES IN AND OUT BEFORE LEAVING!DEMAND CORRECT TIMINGS ON THE BOL!Driver showed up 12:30 pm for 1 pm pick up appointment, 1:30 was given a door handed the paper work at 7 pm!statement on the BOL: planned date 02/16/2023 13:00 time in/out 15:40 18:14Driver drove all night to make the delivery appt which was 9 am almost 500 miles awayof course got denied detention by customer due to those timingsat least broker paid 75$ out of their pocket just because I was bothering them through all this time and they knew the times we are telling are true!AVOID! Terrible place to pick up from, it was suppose to be a drop and hook. Said they were 2 to 3 days behind. Had to find a new load. They should have notified my company of this before hand.

I gave two stars because the guard shack folks are nice and they're accommodating for drivers out of hours. I can almost guarantee you will run out of hours. I checked in @1530 for a 1600 appt. At 1900 I asked what was going on, the guard said they assigned me a door but she didn't know if it was available yet and said I could drive over and check. The door was available so I backed it in. At 2351 they called to tell me my trailer was finished. Finally checked out @0026.

This place is a total disaster !! Nobody knows what's going nobody cares !!! Believe all the reviews you see about this place !! If you are a driver please don't even waste your time. It's not worth the headache & frustration !! Whoever is in charge or runs Purina Schmidt Road.. needs to be fired ASAP this is outrageous !!! It only gets worse by the day ..

Talked to manager, Steve regarding reviews. Please consider us drivers now that E-LOGs coming into affect. There's absolutely no reason to load anyone 5-6 hours with a forklift. I've loaded mattresses with 2 other workers within an hour. My point is that us drivers need to speak up a bit more. Out of respect I don't recommend places that take advantage of our time. I truly believe detention should start after one hour. I don't recommend this place to pickup or drop loads. Still here since 0955-1600, absolutely ridiculous. I truly believe this company should implement better management practices due to their lack of operational technique. They should have a better strategic management plan by focusing on their core competencies and their structure.

This place is awful. Stay away, drivers! I've had my appt pushed back twice without notice. Show up on time and the guard tells me to leave. Twice. Now, 36 hours later, I finally roll in for my 3rd appt and am behind 4 other trucks. I'm being told it may be 8-10 hours before i unload.

Truckers plz plz plz, avoid this place. My appointment was 7am, I signed in @6am But now it is 11am. For 5hrs already and no hop to get loaded soon. I am thinking to pull out my trailer from the dock and cancel the load.

They will load you for a really long time and later lie to the broker that you where late even when you arrived an hour before your appointment, sorry guys not going to work I was on " Macropoint"

My first and last time here , I’ve got appointment 15 00, checked in 13 00 around 15 30 I went to ask the guard why, they just forgot to call me because of the shift change it was a different guard :) so the people came after me took all the doors and got loaded first ! Also they will make you drive around couple times because you have to check in on one side and they can send you to the other side or to the warehouse. Nope thank you no more

Driver had a 3pm apt. He is getting assigned a door at 5:20pm and the guard estimated that it will take another 3-4 hours to load. Whatever a broker is paying you, it is not worth it. I cannot understand how places like this can get drivers to load there especially with the ELD mandate. I guess you have to do what I did, read the other reviews after it is too late. Hope this saves someone the problems it caused us.End Result- driver was loaded at 21:50. Just shy of 7 hours on a palletized load.

Update. Load going to kinloch mo (schnucks) transcore broker stay away, nestle picks load when you arrive they don't stage loads you will spend 5 hours here and 5 hours at schnucks, Goodluck.Plant manager should be fired because how this plant is run. Absolutely no signs around for truckers to instruct them what to do. I checked in one guard shack they sent me to other one then the other one sent me back to first so they can show me where the door is, when i arrived to first one they said i passed my door on the way there. Then go back out on the busy street and back in blocking the traffic. The worst run facility i ran in too in my 10 years of trucking. Welcome to the Iowa land of the stupid.
