I have never had a bad experience in this store.....until today.I was wanting to get a few lotto tickets and I ask a clerk, her name was Rhonda if I could get them there. She acted as if it was an inconvenience for her. I tried to tell her what I wanted but she just ran the ticket when I was needing it for 3 day draws. She was extremely rude. I went to another retailer to get the rest of my tickets.Never have I ever been treated like that in this store.Everyone else is wonderful but Rhonda shouldn't be working with the public if she can't be kind and helpful to the customers.

It's the best grocery store in town, you can honestly stop reading here but if you want more detail continue on.It has a small but good meat section, minus the New York strip, mostly bad cuts with those. Employees are always helpful and do a great job, and furthermore the store helps out the local food pantry to get people food they need like bread, milk, and eggs. This is also one of those few old school grocery stores where the bagger will take your car out to your car for you and load your vehicle.A few of their items are randomly overpriced such as their milk and bread. Also I'd recommend you double check their fairway branded packaged cheese, you might get a moldy batch if you're not careful.If it wasn't for the fact that the New York strip steaks I got sold were of poorer cuts I'd give it a 5 star rating. Perhaps I'll try them again someday and if they're good I'll bump that rating up.

Whenever I am Iowa, we shop at Fareway. We love their brand of cheese popcorn. They have the best watermelon. They most wonderful employees. They treated us with such respect and kindness. I love Fareway. I wish we had them in IL. And I love that they are closed on Sunday.

Tremendous, as usual! Store looks great and everything is easy to find. The signage shows the sale prices clearly without cluttering the shelves. With so many friendly people, it is my favorite place to shop. 5 stars!

I love to say hello to the staff, who are employees that care about my concerns. Many of the staff have been employees for years. It's nice to see the same faces week to week! I special order things, often, that are Fareway does not carry. I have requested some strange items, for Centerville, Iowa and they are always willing to bring these items in as quickly as possible. Thank you!!

Great people in a great store doing a great job in a time we need them the most. I dropped a $20 bill today by the check out and Denise followed me out to the parking lot and gave it to me as a very pleasant young man named Jacob loaded my groceries. Thank you

Stood at meat counter while workers talked a good 5 minutes. Got steaks n grilled out at home. 1 out 3 steaks was spoiled. I called n talked to some guy. He laughs n says we don’t sell bad meat.

Mainly the same faces of employees for many years that call you by name. Very good service and always friendly. Family owned and operated, closed on Sundays for employees to attend church. A solid example of how business should run and take care of its customers, staff and vendors.

Bought some steaks out showcase that looked a little dark and the meat counter guy said they were only there 3 days and really talked the steaks up..we cooked them on the grill when we got home and they tasted spoiled and had to throw them away ..my husband called them and made a complant and they took his name and number down and said they would make it right. . Still waiting for the call

Even though I don't live close by, I do business with Fareway as often as I can. Friendly service is common in southern Iowa, but the Fareway staff are exceptional. Everyone I talk to at Fareway is naturally easy going and puts me at ease. The prices are competitive, meat quality is high, and the atmosphere is geared toward a positive experience. This is the kind of locally-owned business that deserves consumer support.

Fareway has the best meats and vegetables in centerville. I like to be able to see my meat and have it packaged in front of me so I know it good. Very rarely do I ever have a bad vegetable, if I do its one in a large bundle after ive had them for a while. Shop fareway today!

Very surprised by this store’s coupon acceptance policy in this very small town. Having received a manufacturer coupon from a previous shopping trip to Hy-Vee in this same small town, I wished to use the manufacturer coupon in conjunction with a store coupon towards the purchase of cheese. Cashier refused to take the coupon because it had Hy-Vee’s logo on it. I pointed out to cashier that it clearly said manufacturer coupon that *may* be redeemed at Hy-Vee, but it was not a Hy-Vee coupon. Cashier stated that coupon could not be accepted because of Hy-Vee logo being present on the manufacturer coupon. I let cashier know I wouldn’t be purchasing the cheese, and requested both my manufacturer and store coupons back, only to be rudely responded to that one coupon not being accepted shouldn’t be enough to make me want to not purchase item from Farewary. While I disagree with the store’s policy on not accepting manufacturer coupons that may contain the logo of another store on it, that alone wouldn’t stop me from shopping at Fareway. The complete lack of respect exhibited by the cashier at the time is the sole factor in my decision to no longer shop at Fareway, not just in Centerville, but as a whole.

Don't trust Fareway Weekly Ads!! They will publish an item and then NOT honor it!! It has happened to me many times! I think they do it hoping people won't pay any attention and pay a HIGH PRICE for an item that is SMALLER than advertised! And ARGUE with you about it when you have the ad right in front of you!!!
