We found Dr. Conrad while looking for a vet to see our reptiles. The experience has been phenomenal! She is compassionate and thorough, taking the time to discuss husbandry and answer questions, or consult with a reptile specialist when more information is needed. Prices are perfectly reasonable considering the quality of care provided. One of our chameleons is showing dramatic improvements with treatment. The photo shows our other chameleon at his first visit. We strongly recommend Dr. Conrad for reptile care!

Receptionist was very rude and condescending when I called asking about care for my cat that is new to our home. Made it seem like the information I was asking about was something I should already know. This conversation alone was enough for me to not want to take my cat to this clinic.

Switched to this group after some not so great care/service by our former vet. Best decision I have made for my fur-buddy! The entire staff treated him like he was their own. He even acted better than he ever has for his annual visit. SO happy we made the switch. Thank you!

my original review would not post so I will try again. My original thoughts on vca is that they are expensive. Other than that I had no issues until a few days before thanksgiving. On Tuesday the 21st I called vca in the am to get my dog checked out as I could tell he wasn’t feeling well. I am up quite early and the signs were apparent. Vca would not see my dog. I get home after work and notice he is doing much worse. Very scary situation. I had to board a plan 6am the next morning and I called vca to tell them this and my dog has taken a turn for the worse. Once again they wouldn’t lift a finger. I had to rush my dog to blue pearl and found out he had a fever of 105.5 and had pneumonia. Was a dire situation. I had to cancel my trip which is just how it goes sometimes. After his medicine running out I noticed his cough coming back a week and a half after his first blue pearl visit so I returned him to blue pearl as they actually cared enough to see my dog. I get a call a week and Half later from vca asking how my dog is doing. Not a call after his E.R visit but after the second appointment. I guess either it was now convenient for vca to see my dog, but no way would they see him the time I needed him most. I guess they felt like they had time and wanted my money and were upset I took him somewhere else and wanted their cut. Really feels like a money grab and it only works on there schedule. I guess skipping a lunch break or working a tad late was just sooo out of the realm for them. So instead a week and half later they call to feign like they care because they want my money when it’s convenient for them. Not when my dog is at his worst, but when it works on there schedule. The doctors excuse? We’re understaffed. They couldn’t call one customer with a non serious visit to see an emergency. This vet clinic is only after money. They are not for the animals. They will not be there when you need them the most.

Not too impressed with Dr. Gonagle today. No personalty at all. Been going to this clinic with my dogs and cat for many years now. It progressively is getting worse. It has became so corporate! My dog is in great shape and we went for his annual physical today. It is almost like they know they can’t make money of you and they are being short and quickly with the exam. I got an estimate for a teeth cleaning before that was close to $1000! Today the vet did not even look much at his teeth. Instead, I was told that I’d be more than welcome to go to local vets or Anamosa Vet clinic, they do teeth cleanings cheaper there. Very insulting! Unbelievable how very little this vetenarian cared. Really gave a s***. And I ended up paying a lot of money for what? Attitude! Really disappointing! I have three pets and I will def not go back to VCA. Guess my pets are too healthy for them to care! Really so bad.

Switching vets and finding quality health care is a huge undertaking for those of us who realize pets are more than pets, they’re family! Dolly was welcomed into the clinic as part of their family! The time spent on both visits was awesome, making us feel like she was #1. We left with well explained instructions for her best care! Everyone there obviously loves what they do and are very professional.

DO NOT CALL YOURSELVES AN EMERGENCY HOSPITAL I called these ppl my dog suddenly couldn't stand on his back legs I called them begging for them to see him and they said no can't were booked it's an emergency you can't predict it or make an appointment now if I'd said he seems lame or something then yes I should make an appointment absolutely but that's not the case he just suddenly cud use his legs like he hurt his spine or something he needed seen str8 away and I begged them but they refused that's is definitely not a emergency clinic nor is it a clinic that cares much about animals I won't try going there again and I wouldn't recommend u take your babies there neither

We recently moved to the area from out of state and our 2 "girls" needed their annual shots. Covid19 prevented some vets from wanting to take on new clients. The staff and Dr.Paul welcomed our 2 rescues and us with open arms. 2 weeks later we found ourselves back needing their support. This time it was a follow-up visit to an emergency weekend visit. Dr Paul worked us into her schedule to address the removal of staples from Roxys paw. And compassionately listened to our story which brought us back so soon. I love ♥ the staff and Dr's. at VCA Edgewood Animal Hospital.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! My beagle Toby is not the easiest patient to treat (he gets very anxious at the vet), but Dr. Leo always does an amazing job with him and on the few occasions we haven't been able to fit into her schedule, we've always had positive experiences with the other vets. I would highly recommend bringing your pets here!

Highly recommend. Everyone is very nice and will always answer your questions. I have been taking my dog and 2 cats here for 13 years or more. Everyone loves my dog and supportive through health issues. And very compassionate when we sadly had to say goodbye to our 17yr old cat. We will never change to another vet.

I used to love taking my dogs there and I recommended a lot of my friends and family there. Yesterday I called in to inquire about price I have a dog that needs spayed and is all caught up and shots and the receptionist refused to give a ballpark of what the cost would be. She said you need to book an appt and pay office visit to get that info. That is concerning i did not ask for exact dollar amount I asked for a ball park given the information that I provided. Then I was told to take my business elsewhere if I didn't like that policy.

A little over 5 years ago, I got myself a Pug puppy for Xmas and scheduled his first appointment with EAH based on their online reviews and I’ve been bringing my Pug, Jake, here ever since. We continually receive nothing but excellent service and care from Dr. Leo, Dr. Hickey and EAH Staff. Everyone loves Jake even though he yells at all the other dogs. Staff is also prompt over the phone or by voicemail whenever I have a question or concern about Jake. If they’re busy you’ll sometimes be on hold but not for that very long and they’ve been improving their website and pet record access online. I recommend EAH to family and friends.

I love this clinic! My dog(Abby) got into some mouse trap poison when we were camping 30min away. I called them in an absolute panic and they made sure to see both of my dogs right away. They unfortunately had to make both of them vomit, but found Abby was the only one that ingested it. The Dr. Delaney was so gracious, informative and cautious. She treated my dog and then sent us to the Vet ER to make sure Abby was monitored overnight. Outside of this unfortunate event, they have been very attentive, and caring. I would recommend this animal hospital to all my family and friends.

My parents have 2 very old cats, my father took them in to have groomed. well this time they said they couldn't groom one of them because it was being aggressive 🙄 and that the other cat needed to be sedated so they could groom her. Instead of being groomed and combed they left hair around her feet and head and shaved her, I've never seen anything like this before. It's a hack job. Won't go back for any services

**Edited down because I had an appointment yesterday for my dog for acupuncture. If I had not called to reschedule, I would have driven an hour for nothing. They informed me Dr. Hickey was no longer there and suggested I call Animal Care Hospital in Cedar Rapids. What were they going to tell me when I got there with my dog after driving an hour?? Very unprofessional way this was handled. I was sad because I had just recently found her. She was helping my dog so much. I'm so glad I called them! I found Dr. Hickey. She's much more available and closer to me. Dr. Hickey can be found at Animal Care Hospital.My senior dog has been having trouble with her back legs. They are weak and she can't stand for long. She's also been in pain and I've been trying with my other vet to help her. They are really busy and don't spend much time with her to try and figure out what's wrong. I had been thinking of acupuncture or hydrotherapy for her. I learned of Dr. Hickey and booked an appointment. Yesterday was her first treatment and I can already tell a difference! Her back feet don't point out like they did and she feels so much better! She even got sassy with me today as I was getting her food. I haven't seen that in ages! It makes me feel so good to be able to help my dog that I love so much. Dr. Hickey told me Rose has arthritis in her hips and knees. Something my vet couldn't tell me in two visits and with an x-ray. Just told me she was in pain and gave me a prescription. Dr. Hickey takes the time to get to know your pet and doesn't rush when consulting with you. I'm very impressed. Was a great first visit. Even though its an hour drive for me, if you're accepting new patients, I would love to transfer. My dog feeling better and being happy means the world to me.

I’ve never met such an amazing group of people. My cat Mili endured so many hardships and ended up passing recently after being diagnosed with cancer. To each and every single person who helped care for Mili, I just want to say thank you! Dr. Delaney especially holds a special place in my heart for how well she treated and cared for her. The higher prices here are worth the quality of care we received. I cannot recommend this place or Dr. Delaney more for how wonderful they’ve been. I will be calling and transferring over my other two kitties when the time is right!

Edgewood has been so amazing with all 3 of my pets! I am so thankful for them, we had an emergency with our dog and we were told by a different vet that we were seeing at the time to just call poison control, I called Edgewood Animal Hospital and they told us to come right over and they would squeeze us in! I was so impressed and so very thankful for everything they did for us that day, I switched our 2 cats and dog over to them!Edgewood is AMAZING! Highly recommended!Thanks for everything you do!

This is a wonderful vet hospital. I have 2 cats, one is easy to care for and the other is a terrible pain. When I have to bring in the trouble cat everyone at Edgewood knows his history and is prepared to deal with him. At our last visit my cat finally seemed to realize he would not have a difficult time and he behaved in a much calmer and "regular" cat manner. I appreciate the warm and caring demeanor of Dr Erin Meany, who really cares about the health and well-being of both of my cats. Highly recommend. The facility has been recently modernized and the staff are friendly and efficient.

I have been taking my dogs to Edgewood Animal Hospital for a long time now and every time I go into the vet for an appointment my dogs and I enjoy the staff. The girls up front really do a good job of being professional with what ever the situation may be that I am enduring at the time. I have had to put two of my dogs to sleep because of various reasons and the staff really made me feel like they cared about what I was going through. I have went to several of the Dr.'s at this clinic and I have never had a bad experience. The staff has never given me the impression that they are just there for the money. Believe me, I have worked at a vet before and been a vet tech and a vet assistant and I do have to say You definitely don't get paid enough to be doing this type of work just for the money. You have to have a Love for what You do to make it work!

I was in Cedar Rapids visiting my daughter and my 9 month old puppy started having a seizure. We rushed her to Edgewood Animal Hospital, where my daughter takes her dog. The vet and 2 techs came right to the car to get her. We took her in the office and they checked us in quickly and got us back to a room and evaluated Daisy. Dr. Sue Delaney was very knowledgeable. She was very kind with Daisy and told us everything she was doing along the way. Knowing that I was visiting from out of town she gave me detailed records to take back to my vet and said to call her if we needed anything. I would highly recommend Edgewood Animal Hospital to anyone looking for professionals who truly care about the animals in their care.

I have taken my 2 dogs to Edgewood Animal for years. Everyone is kind and gentle with these 2 older dogs. We love Dr. Hanker. She is great! Takes time to explain why tests are needed. Both dogs have issues d/t their age so taking them to Edgewood and Dr. Hankner eases our minds with any new concerns that arise. They're the best!!

If I could give a 0 I would. Arrived at my scheduled time then followed the directions. A text was sent through their system 5 minutes after my appointment time. Got a call 10 minutes later saying we could not be seen. Had to find daycare for my kids since it is only 1 owner per pet. Extremely disappointed in their inability to be flexible.Update: I decided to wait for the manager and thankfully she was able to get me in. I guess their qr code scanner was not working quickly as it should. If you arrive, call their phone number instead.A huge thank you to the manager Jessica, vet tech Brianna, and Dr. McGonagale. They were able to get my Daisy in today as it is extremely difficult to only have 1 pet parent in when you have children. I truly appreciate them understanding and making the time to see us today.Still took off 1 star as the first person stated that I had to reschedule when it was the error on their end. If I would have shown up at 12:10 for an 11:50 appointment, I completely understand that I would have to reschedule. When one shows up at 11:50 for an 11:50 appointment, I am glad that the manager was able to make it right.

I'll update this review over time since I've only been once, but so far I like it. We went there based on reviews after moving to town and having to give up our old vet who we loved, so it's a hard bar to clear. The vet seemed friendly and knowledgeable, she'd be five stars, but her tech was cold and unfriendly. Ultimately, I'm there for medical care for my dogs, but a calming experience when you are already panicking about your pets illness should be a given for an animal hospital.

We have gone to Edgewood Animal Hospital many times in the past for our dog's GI issues. Currently, our dog is experiencing a GI flare. He has a medication that has worked wonders for him in the past. Edgewood refused to refill his prescription without an office visit. The staff told us that office visits were not available until next week. I offered various suggestions and advocated for my dog. The staff would not help us and did not offer any sort of empathy or apology. We have been loyal customers of Edgewood Animal Hospital, but will not be returning. We are very upset at the lack of care our dog is receiving at this time. We are transferring care immediately.

Since before I was born, my family brought our pets to Edgewood Animal Hospital, and now I bring my own dog there. I have visited other vet clinics and even worked at one for a short period of time but these guys are still my favorite clinic, by far. I always feel like they care about my pet and are not trying to get every penny they can from me. The atmosphere is welcoming and professional.

We scheduled an appointment and were seen promptly. My cat is extremely obedient but is a scaredy-cat/drama queen. Due to this I was worried how she would react with the staff as it was her first ever vet visit. The staff listened to me and treated Octavia exactly how I wanted her to be treated which resulted in an incredible experience.Thank you for your professionalism and respect, I will gladly bring my fur baby hear going forward!Overall a great experience.

I've brought my dogs here for the past 8 years, and have never had any complaints. The staff are courteous and helpful, and genuinely care about the wellbeing of my dogs. The vet techs know how to handle one of my reactive dogs and have worked to build the trust so he will let them hold him.The staff care about my dogs, and will routinely ask how my furry friends are doing, even after the vet visits are complete.

My dog has been going here since she was a puppy seeing Dr. Young. We are on a tight budget and Dr. Young will work with us on keeping the price within our budget.A bonus is my dog LOVES going here. We have been using for years for routine vaccinations, etc. We recently took our dog in after he developed a mass on his shoulder. The vet took a cell sample, but was unable to conclude what it was. She thought perhaps an infection. We were given antibiotics and something to help his mobility. After a week, he didn't improve. We took him to another vet for a second opinion and he confirmed it was most likely cancer. I guess, I felt like they didn't spend enough time trying to figure it out and we were misdiagnosed. Our dog is now in a "hospice " phase because of how aggressive the cancer is. This was a negative experience with an overall positive history with this vet.
