It's almost garden time! The staff are super helpful and friendly and don't seem to mind me crawling around in their plants or asking about giant bales of moss. They are knowledgeable and, what really impresses me, they keep working as they talk to me! A skill I'll never master

I reached out the HR person in this facility, because I had put in a job application, and asked to check the status. She could tell I was black by voice, and told me there were not hiring, and I said there's a lot of openings listed on the website to apply.She then told me that the jobs are listed there because they bring people in on the regular. So with that being said, she contradicted herself, and told off on herself at the same time. That means you are hiring, but you don't want black people in your establishment.That's there way of saying things to let you know. So I'm putting this here to let people know she is discrimination against certain races.

I know that mistakes happen, but I was put off today by the fact I had an online order placed today that was to be ready for pick up in 1-2 hours for a snowblower they had in stock. I saw the inventory go from 2 to 1 after my order was received and credit card charged. After 3 hours of not hearing anything, I stopped by only to find out that they had sold the one I got to someone else and would not be getting anymore anytime soon. I get it, mistakes happen, but how long were they going to let me believe I was getting what I ordered? Moving forward I will need to call after placing big ticket online orders to feel confident Home Depot actually is filling my order

Fantastic employees! Bought my first house and needed some new appliances and I worked with Joe. Joe is so sweet and incredibly helpful. He was so personable and friendly. He helped me find exactly what I needed in my price point and walked me through everything. He also made sure to check in on me when he saw me in other spots of the store afterwards.He also introduced me to another employee as I needed a new door and John was also extremely helpful in helping me find what I need and getting me set up with what I needed to do.They absolutely made a very stressful situation go a lot smoother.

A bit disappointed was told I would get an additional discount when I showed my card at the counter, they did honor that. I did not get the car type I reserved. They did not explain yhe toll process and gave no details on the charges they billed me. Hard to return the car due to traffic and poor directions.

Was not impress with this location, was dirty and unorganized. Items piled in the isles and just a all out disaster. Staff was extremely helpful, and there were a bunch of staff on hand. I know its winter, but all of there left over plants were dying and in great need of water, when I mentioned to several staff they just acted like they could care less...There was a gal working in the electrical department that was doing a amazing job, she was very helpful and knew exactly were items were.

The Home Depot 1st Ave Cedar Rapids.Most days not busy at all and still have to get the employees to put down their phones to get waited on. Menards is so much better to shop at and actually Lowes has the best customer service at their Coralville Store.

I can only assume it's because of the current economy, but this place has pretty much turned into a self serve home improvement store ... except for the check-out. Picked out a light fixture, located the box on the shelf, got some lawn weed and feed, looked at faucets, refrigerators, blinds and power tools and never once encountered an employee. Except ... when we checked out. 8 people ahead of us in line. 1 checker open and self check-out closed. The lady working the register was working her butt off, but probably had to wait a good 10 - 15 minutes to check out. More waiting...less helping .. that's the power of the Home Depot.

We stop there on Thursday! All the staff we ran into greeted us and made us feel so welcome! We will definitely stop back there again ! Helpful employees and everything you need I was in a hurry to begin with. One man went to find another salesman to help, as he was already helping a couple. I told the salesman, exactly what I was looking for. He helped right away. I told him I had just purchased a new Home Depot Card. He took down the tags to type in the prices for the appliances. We were in and out of there within a half hour! That is the quickest a salesman has ever helped me at this store and I have been shopping at home depot for a while now. He was very friendly. Didn't rush me and knew exactly what to type into the computer, he knew about the appliances and even answered some questions that I didn't know about the appliances as well! I would definitely come to him for help again, in the future if I needed a quick answer

During a recent visit to The Home Depot in Cedar Rapids, our primary mission was to scout out their collection of Halloween decorations. To our surprise, the Halloween decor was nowhere in sight. Given that we've had wonderful experiences in the past with their festive collections, it was a bit unexpected, especially considering other stores have already begun showcasing their spooky selections.On the bright side, we did manage to find a water hose that we've been in need of. The quality and range of essential home and garden supplies at The Home Depot remain commendable.However, considering we made a 40-mile trip primarily for the Halloween items, the visit felt somewhat less fruitful than anticipated. I hope this feedback can be a nudge for the store to keep pace with the seasonal trends, making it as enjoyable and efficient for long-distance shoppers like us as it usually is.Despite the hiccup, we appreciate The Home Depot for consistently being a reliable destination for home and garden essentials. We're optimistic that future visits will align more with our expectations based on previous experiences.

One thing I have REALLY appreciated about Home Depot is that they don't frequently shift departments around in the store.I can count on the electrical stuff to be right where it was 2 years ago and the nails and screws aisle is in the same spot, etc. So when I need to just run in and pick up something quick I can walk directly to the aisle get what I need and get out.

Hospitality and customer service almost seems like a dieing art these days when you venture out. But not at Home Depot. We had a wonderful experience with an extraordinary gentleman named James. He went above and beyond getting what we needed off the top shelf. I felt bad for all the trouble it was but he did it with a smile on his face and was just so kind. Shout out to James. Thanks for making our day.

Usually the Home Depot is the first place I come for a garden center visit or for any other Home improvement need...before Menard's which is down the street. After tonight's last minute trip, I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. Attached are the pics of a clearance/defective item that we came in to purchase. You'll notice that the space to the right of the panels (which is empty now, because they're loaded up in our cart) had the posts for said panels but not enough1. I see one item price tag with a label for panels but see no tag for the posts. I'm an idiot because I assumed they were sold together - there's not much you can do having one without the other. So why the heck put them right next to each with ONE price tag?? Further, which was more surprising, is that the employees we're rude, gave no explanation, and didn't even offer an apology for the omission. No discount offered and when leaving sure they reluctantly offered help loading but when we accepted the offer they sd they had to call their manager. My husband forgot tie-downs but instead of an employee offering for us to go grab some, I waited in lot with panels while my husband ran down the street to Menard's to grab some FREE tie-down ropes.

The worker at Home Depot was absolutely wonderful she was a great help and had a great sense of humor. The delivery drivers were both very courteous and very good at what they did they did it quickly and efficiently. Both of the men were very very nice I would definitely recommend shopping at Home Depot for any of your major appliances.

Wow! I have been a credit card member for over 10 years plus!! I bought a dishwasher to be delivered to my daughters home. It was a replacement GE Dishwasher we had put in the house in 2015. In 2015 we bought all new appliances for the kitchen from Home Depot.Today, I had scheduled for a new GE Dishwasher to be delivered and installed by Home Depot.Home Depot hires a 3rd party to deliver and install.They wanted to put holes in our cabinets to install the new dishwasher. I said no.I told my daughter to tell them to “take back the dishwasher since it couldn’t be installed without damaging my cabinets.” They told her to call the Home Depot delivery department Again, this 3rd party is not Home Depot.They only Deliver items, they don’t take them back.I feel this is bad business from Home Depot because they hire 3rd parties to deliver and install who can’t or won’t do it.As of now, I am waiting to see if upper management will grant me for the 3rd party to pick up the dishwasher and take it back to Home Depot and receive a credit to my Home Depot account. It is so funny , in this year 2023, as customers no one listens to us!Companies can hire 3rd parties who install and deliver but if something goes wrong you are out of luck! No recourse.In the future, I will order from small companies or mom and pop companies, who have their own employees deliver and install.

Brian was amazing. We had shopped around for carpet, found colors we liked, but we were never told what would be best for our basement. He explained the differences in what we liked and was great though the whole process. Highly recommend!!

My washing machine died so I bought a Maytag machine and when it was delivered, it was already broken. I called but got re-directed to multiple departments when finally they scheduled a technician to come see if it broken, a week and a half from now. Only then will they consider ordering a replacement, which will take who knows how long.I can't clean my clothes after waiting a week to get the new broken machine. I already had the unexpected cost of the machine and now I'm going to choose between paying at a laundromat so my clothes don't stink or being able to afford Christmas gifts. Thanks for ruining my holidays.
