The store has so many options. Generally, this is a very clean and well-kept store. It did happen to be an off night. A few items that should have been removed from the shelf were missed. I am sure it was taken care of as they have a good practice of running a great store. Lucky to have them so conveniently located in the neighborhood. Keep up the good work. 👍

Advertised items fuel savers not ringing in right. High prices. Resigned up for new fuel saver over 2 months ago, still no new card, half fuel savers rang in, big ones did not, HyVee blamed me for not signing up for new card. When I told them I had and how some items had worked, never heard anymore from them. Check your receipts for correct fuel saver amounts.

Very friendly and efficient. While there today heard a dozen donuts at bakery for $3 ANY DONUT/ANY SIZE. Guess what I bought!

The staff is on point✊ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ they all deserve a huge raise corporate!!!! These stores would not be anything, without the people that actually do the work.I am not kidding Hy-Vee corperate, give them all through out the chain the raises they all have earned and most definitely deserve!

I’m generally very pleased with the Mount Vernon HyVee. However, I do have a couple of questions. First, if we use the self checkout because of long lines, why don’t we get a discount for doing what someone else is paid to do ? Second, why does it take 50 minutes to fulfill a prescription that (a) is supposed to be on automatic refill and (b) I’d phoned in the day before? And then why, when I got impatient, was I called “abusive”? Why didn’t they, instead, apologize for wasting the better part of an hour of my time ?

I had the worst experience with Jennifer who is the manager in bakery. I had placed an order for a custom cake on 2/2/24 for pick up on 2/6/24 @ 10 am. I spoke directly with someone on the phone who gave me an email to forward a picture of the example I wanted on the cake. I did not receive any type of email or phone call indicating there was an issue with what was ordered or that there was a time delay. When I showed up to pick up the cake, Jennifer appeared very angry and flustered, she was throwing around papers and telling me she has 3 trucks to unload. Asked if I had any other shopping to do. I grabbed the remainder of my items and returned to bakery to a even more flustered Jennifer who was apparently now just getting to the cake. She became upset and stated "I don't even know what's supposed to be on this cake" "I don't know who you talked to, but I have been on vacation" and then advised me to get a premade cake and she would write "happy birthday" on it. This cake was for my husband's 40th birthday. Not having the cake is only a small part of this issue, it's the way I was treated, spoken to and how she took NO accountability for the scenario. She made me feel awful. It was appalling. I have purchased many custom cakes from the Mt Vernon road Hy-vee with no issues and will never go back or recommend them.

Lolol.. how this place has anything over 2 stars is hilarious! Obviously they spend alot of money paying for reviews! Iv been to multiple locations and not one department is what you expect from an upscale grocery store. When I found out they ware so popular with catering I literally felt sorry for people. Overpriced low end meat cuts and tastless prepared food. A serious lack of options in Iowa apparently. Except the Chinese food... it's not tastless.... it's disgusting! Not one thing here I'd serve to guest or loved ones...

I don't like leaving less than perfect reviews but, I'm truly hoping this constructive criticism leads to improvements rather than just negativity. My issue is with the restaurant department. Usually two or three times a week, I head to Hy-Vee for my routine breakfast Togo order and my cup of Starbucks coffee. Overall, my breakfast is fine but, I've started to notice that there are wildly different visual and taste experiences depending on the day you go. Some days it's perfectly delicious and I'm more than happy and other days, not so much. Today was one of those not so much days. From the omelet, which is extremely simple, just mushroom and onions to my English muffin, everything was below my standard. Even putting it into the bag, there was zero effort to ensure it wasn't going to end up upside down and then getting a sigh of frustration from the woman when I began to seal the bag myself as she was just pushing me on my way. I also asked for extra butter, not such a big deal but, when I got home, I had 2 little squares for my English muffin. I guess she was just monitoring my fat intake for the day. Today's omlette though was terrible. It tasted like it was made with premade egg mix and the ingredients were just about raw. The bottom of the omlette had a layer of what looked like lard on it and it was far from cooked through. I don't like well done eggs but, this was the extreme opposite. It was almost runny and it was an omelette. The potatoes as well were terrible. Some pieces were blackened while others were huge hunks of par cooked potatoes. Lastly, my English muffin....way over toasted. I just wish there to be a standard within the store for the employees to follow. I shouldn't have to pick my breakfast Togo days based on which employee is scheduled. So, that's my review. Hopefully it lands on the right desk. Cheers.

I ordered cupcakes from the bakery for my May 2023 wedding. I called to order multiple weeks before my wedding & placed my order with someone who said she was the manager. The ordering process went smoothly and she was very helpful throughout the call, explaining pricing & flavors available. Unfortunately, I received two phone calls from the bakery the day before my wedding to tell me that somehow two of the cupcake & frosting flavors I ordered were not even offered by their bakery and asking me what other flavors I wanted instead. It goes without saying that this wasn't the end of the world, but I'm posting this in hopes that the ordering process is more organized for future customers.

I am an Iowan living in California. Kroger and Safeway provide most supermarkets here. I so wish we had Hy-Vee. The meat department is more like a butcher, bakery department has many offerings fruit and veggies are fresh. But what is uniquely Iowa is the friendliness of the employees.

Great craft beers on tap and they have great happy hour specials! The grocery store had been remodeled a few years back and it is in good shape. Their 99 Bottles Beer club is excellent too. Several great perks with that too!

My new favorite grocery store! I enjoy the great variety of all types of foods, prescription services, liquor, and even non foods. Hy-Vee Mt Vernon is an engaging and fun place to shop at.

Typical Hy-Vee, overpriced grocery store. I did receive exceptional customer service, mostly from Shawn in frozen. Private, single stall restrooms are an added bonus.
