You must wear gloves and for good reason! Broken glass and sometimes unsanitary items. Nice employees, a laid back atmosphere feels like most shoppers know each other and are polite. You'll find good stuff if you spend some time here.

I do enjoy shopping here. The only thing that is a big negative is that the regular vultures are very territorial when the new bins come out. They don't let the average shopper look. They grab up everything and then go to their little space by the wall and then they go thru their haul. If they don't want items after all, they throw them in a bin close by. They don't care if anyone is in their way. My daughter has almost gotten hit by airborne items.I am not the only shopper who feels this way. It's Ridiculous!!I know people have to make a living, but some people go there to shop for their families.

The staff were so helpful and friendly. We walked in not knowing what we were getting into but left full of wonder. You have to bring gloves or buy theirs for 1.99 and honestly that’s one of the best deals in the place — you go into Home Depot or a garden center and gloves like that will be at least $8. Bathrooms were clean, accessible. They have water fountains. Place was generally a clean, bright, cheerful. We watched the process of new inventory arriving on the floor. It was all covered with a black sheet, then revealed for eager but friendly shoppers to sift through. What an exciting time! You pay for the clothes by the pound — truly cannot IMAGINE a better deal!!!

Been shopping here for years! Yes u have to wear gloves, lol it’s parts of the store policy. Sometimes there will be broken or dirty objects and why would you want your bare hands on those anyways? It’s for your safety and Goodwill’s! These items come from huge sorting trucks and are dumped into bins so yes, sometimes items may break. Or when customers sort through bins, items break then as well. I’ve never been cut by any object or had any problem though. Items are sold by pound for $1.50, so affordable! At least a quarter of my closet comes from here now! I’ve found multiple pairs of Converse sneakers, Levi jeans, and other great brands. Never had any problems with staff!-If ur not an “aggressive” type of shopper I would stay back when the new bins are switched out.

This review is for the outlet location on 6 St SW of Cedar Rapids. Please copy this review and share it again if you agree on the provided points. Please provide free wifi for the visitors, a lot of them are from out of town to shop there. The other day a lady didn't have enough signals or service in her phone there. She couldn't call her ride to pick her up.And her driver would not answer unknown numbers. So this is more of a safety issue for the shoppers.Thank you Goodwill for providing this outlet to our area as many families can benefit from it.I have a very important notice that is a win win situation for everyone. It is in the interested and the benefit for all of us that things get sold and move out of the bins for people to use as fast as possible.1* It it going to help the environment and save tons of materials to go to waist. This is the most important goal to all of us indeed to have a cleaner environment.2* Good will will keep providing the community with what they need in affordable prices, which will not keep anyone left behind without fulfilling their family needs.3* It is a definite success for Goodwill to get rid of most if not all of the donations, specially the bigger and heavier items. As i was in the cedar Rapids outlet yesterday, a bedding that is a Walmart brand i wanted to buy for a family, it was heavy and i would be charged for it $11 for it after they weighed it.I tried to ask for adjustment of price but it was rejected. If you get rid or all your bedding, rugs, heavy kitchen items, pans, tools and construction materials and paper materials that are not books which would cost a lot on the scale. This is going to reduce the amount of effort that the good will employees will spend to recycle the UN ought items , people will indeed benefit specially the unfortunate ones, the landfill will get less items, the environment will be cleaner.Making money is not the only factor in your wonderful organization, that has wonderful people that are running it and working on serving it.For theoutlet store.Small improvement notes are:The restroom needs ventilation fan for sure, hand sanitizer, and warm running water in the sink, otherwise we might end up with some people not washing their hands.People come to shop at your wonderful outlet from hundreds of miles away. Please add enough comfy seats, and trash cans around the store. The benches are not enough, not comfy, and the walls at the back of the benches are extremely cold since they are concrete.People drive from all round to come and shop for hours here. They need to sit during the long hours of shopping to keep the energy during the shopping process.I would like everyone to know thatthis store is a wonderful one of a kind dig for treasures place. You will find anything you can think of.It would be great if you have more carts for the busy days.Thank you for your wonderful organization and all the services it provides to the community.

This place is very addictive. I usually stay and shop for several hours at a time. I don't need anything but it is just so much fun. If you like going to garage sales, then you will love this place.

Today was my first time here. I did not know what an outlet store for Goodwill would entail. It was different because you have to wear work gloves in order to pick through the merchandise in bins. They charge by the pound, a tad less than $2 per pound of clothes. I found a pair of jeans in my size with the tags still on them (which of course will still be washed before they are worn). There are dishes, books, pots and pans, curling irons, crock pots, purses, and I saw a knitting machine that was very tempting. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The inside of the building is not very clean, but that is to be expected because of people tearing through items quickly and leaving wrappings and boxes on the floor. Before you leave, they weigh the cart with the clothes in it, and you can put it in a bag if you like, which are on the way out of the store. The yard is very well-kept and the building looks nice from the outside.

I enjoy shopping there but find other shoppers very aggressive. They will take things out of your hand as you are picking it up.

I loved the experience, the only thing I didn't like was that when they weighed the cart with my stuff the guy say I got 48lbs but I didn't feel it was that much so I weighed when I got home it was only 41 lbs.I mean it was only 7 lbs but that's $10 dlls lol 😆I would still go back but I will have them use the scale on the counter

Interesting experience. Definitely a different way to go about the whole second hand thing. I have not experienced it during the day but I hear that they rotate bins and stock in and out frequently and several people wait in anticipation and are very excited about it

Love this place...I find lots of treasures. I wish that Goodwill would make masks mandatory. It can get really crowded in there. The staff is very polite and somehow manage to stay pleasant even though they are dealing with the crowds. And the customers for the most part are courteous.

LOVE shopping here! I can stay for hours. I always leave with lots of treasures for cheap! Rummaging through the bins is like a treasure hunt. If you are willing to look you can find some great stuff.I find clothes with tags all the time and lots of well known brands. At $1.49 a lb clothes are a steal. Paperback books are a quarter and hardbacks are 50 cents. I have a lovely stack of interesting books by my nightstand now. It's always fun when they bring the new bins out! The staff is wonderful. So excited they brought this to Cedar Rapids.

June 29th 2022I came to this location for the first time and by their own standards they require you to have gloves to shop in their establishment. Conveniently they sell you some at the door if you don't have any. This is racketeering if I've ever seen it. It is not against the law to shock without gloves. This is a rule the came up with on their own. Yet if you don't come with gloves then you have to PURCHASE Their gloves for approximately $3. So they made $3 just for you to come shop and purchases items that were DONATED for FREE. Yet they claim they are a NON-PROFIT organization.I will never PAY just to potentially buy stuff in any store. YOUR LUCKY IM SHOPPING AT YOUR ESTABLISHMENT IN THE 1ST PLACE.I Definitely Won't be returning to this location or any other location that follows the same guidelines. If you require gloves by opinion only , then you need to provide gloves for free!

If I could leave 0 star review I would.. the “women” working upfront were super rude to these two women that didn’t have gloves on yet, there were way more people in there who weren’t wearing gloves that they didn’t harass, I hope this place finds new employees or shuts down.. YIKES

Great but NOT A PLACE FOR KIDS. There's literally a rule against kids under 12 being unsupervised that's seldom followed or enforced and it's so annoying. I've witnessed a mom swearing out some lady for talking to her kid, who I can only assume was in her way. As such, I've been apprehensive to do anything that could lead to a similar fate, but my god is it a nuisance to find a kid leaning against the middle of 2 bins just watching videos loudly on his phone with no parents nearby. Please stop bringing your children here, I judge you so hard and so does everyone else who doesn't bring kids.

I took my 14 yo here and we spent two hours sorting thru the bins. She thought it was fantastic and was able to find 43 items, or about two shopping carts full which came out to roughly $40. We found Tshirts, shoes, books, jeans, a vintage bag, tablecloth, blankets, sweatshirts, and more.
