This store has so much stuff in here. It's literally a "General" store as it says it is. Just don't come here if you are claustrophobic. You will probably have a panic attack at some point, especially if there are other people shopping in the aisles with you. There is not much room to move do to the amount of inventory in here.I stopped in today looking for some specific containers to fit my collectibles for traveling, and the cashier was super nice and let me bring a couple to the counter and even bring my collectibles inside to check and see if they would fit before buying them instead of wasting my money on something that wouldn't work and having to return them. That was extremely nice of her. I didn't get her name, but she was working today at the Altoona store at around 3:30pm...So if you read this, Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciated it.

2nd time at this location. The store did not open during the hour posted. The sign said 3pm. The store was not well kept and full of clutter. The isles were messy and not organized. I don't recommend this location.

Be careful of how you shop here or you might be accused of stealing.Literally just went to reach for something I saw one day, and I wanted to see if it was still there. I then noticed an older lady with blonde hair (now pink) that works there, was watching me. So I started to get up and move on as I was uncomfortable. I went back to my best friend I was shopping with and she was following us. She then told us it was time to go and that she wanted us to leave, even though my best friend wasn't done looking for what they needed. Mind you, she wasn't kicking other people out. AND we still had a little time before closing. I thought it was a bit strange.. Now when my best friend goes to pay, she asked me if there was anything else I planned on buying, while standing next to the other lady at the register. (Who was my favorite by the way.) I said no, confused.. and she asked if I were sure, looking seemingly irritated towards me while watching us check out.When we left, I was very indistress on what I could have done that was so bad.But we eventually moved on from it, thought maybe I was just being paranoid and misunderstood her. However, she never did ask to see my bag or provide any proof. I had way more money than how much the book was...I came back at a later date. My little brother wanted particular supplies from there for school, so me and my best friend took him them. Then when she noticed me, she started asking me in a really rude tone, "what are you doing here?". I was honestly froze in the moment and didn't know what to say, I don't like conflict.Why would I also steal something that I can easily pay for if I have a job? The other girl that works there that had purple hair at the time, she always saw me pay.My best friend started defending me, and all the lady did was walk off. 💀 After that we went to pay again. There was also a new girl working there and she told us about how the older lady has been rude to customers a lot that day, we even saw some if it happened to other customers for no reason. She had quite an attitude. The new girl also told us about how she's the manager.Even if you've had that happen to you, this is not the right way to go about it and it's quite icky accusing good people.I would also like to mention that when her and my best friend were in an argument, She was trying to turn my best friend against me and said I was going to need an adult for now on if I wanted to shop there... Lady, I'm 19 years old lmaooo💀💀She said if not, she was going to be watching me for now on. I don't like letting people get what they want, but it's also a complete waste of my time to shop there and put my money towards people like that. You've lost me as a customer, and you'll continue to lose more until you better yourself. This is a really unfortunate situation to me as well, because this is a quite close walking distance to my home and it made it more convenient for errands. I also shouldn't have to send my best friend in there while I wait outside, out of fear of getting yelled at again. I really did like y'all, but never again. You better hope you get the newer lady at the register and not the older one if you shop here.FYI, I've also heard the older lady making comments on a later date when I was here with my mom, and she dropped something. (which nothing broke and was picked up)This was a while ago, but it's worth the note. I also really like dollar general still, but not this particular location.

My boyfriend went in there today to buy candy for our son (he has face tattoos) and big old’ girl at the counter wants to accuse him of stealing SWEEDISH FISH because her double digit IQ couldn’t remember what candy he picked out 😭😭😭😭 don’t recommend, very very special people work here 💀

If I could, I would put no star, sometimes they don’t even have stuff stocked, and I haven’t had any good experiences while being in there, most of the workers there are really rude. There’s only one thats nice. I was thinking about working there but not after how I’ve seen them treat their employees.

I just want this store,company and customers to know how amazing there employee Ann is. I went in there today on a day where they have alot to get done and put away because they had alot thrown at them all at once,while still having to maintain the store and the customers that come in. She was on top of it the whole time with a smile on her face,positive attitude, and so friendly.you can tell she loves what she does and definitely need recognition for what she does to keep this store going!!

I grabbed 3 things of embroidery floss in the craft isle, and the little sign said 2.75 ... but they rang up as 3.50 each. And bought 2 cans of asparagus the sign said 3.00 but rang up at 3.25 each. That's way more than a 2% error which I read is allowed in another state, but in Iowa there's the bait and switch law... I just wish they would follow pricing laws.

It was good, found what I needed, staff was very good. One concern I have is the bldg is too full, might be a severe fire hazard. I know a bit about that, dealt with safety at my last job. Maybe add on to the bldg but only merchandise that fits on shelves and wider isles. Remember during a fire there's no lights, customers are very scared, may get turned around, not find exit. Your company want that on it's conscience if someone is harmed? Sorry just sharing some thoughts. My experience today was good.

I love this store. the employees are all always smiling and joking it makes it a great shopping experience every time. Additional bonus is the fun simi educational things for my kiddos to have fun with.

Just local small town store. Used to go often but they have all new people and it's not as comfortable as it used to be. Store is clean and organized. They do a great job . It's just me.

I go to this store because they usually have what I need and the Isles aren't clogged with stuff so you can be able to shop the older girls that work there are great they're always willing to help

When I go to a Dollar General it is for something that will have no emotional value for me like trash bags, night lights, dish towels, shower curtains, clothes hangers or combs. If they are lost, broken or simply fall apart no big deal. There was not a great investment monetarily or emotionally. I go there to save a few bucks. What I did appreciate about this particular Dollar General was the pleasant and friendly help. On that it is hard to put a price.

Called after hours around 9:15 to see what time they where open till. A really sweet lady answered the phone. I asked what time they where open till and she told me "I'm sorry hun but we closed at 9" I said thank you and she continued with "but we will be open at 8 in the morning." I said thank you and she replyed with "you are more than welcome have a really good night" I hope corporate can see this post and see who closed tonight on 03/19/2016 because this experience with how polite that sweet lady was needs to be recognized.

It is a nice store. The only issue is that there is always without fail carts in the isles and packed full of the staff trying to unload their shipments. It is sad to see them struggle with not very much staff.

This DG is always busy even if the parking lot isn't full they must get alot of walkers. Always friendly always cluttered and the central air is always not working. But they stay in the black so doing something right. Hey Corporate why not save this one.? Just a matter of time the parking lot is a liability and that store unless you know its there can drive right by and not see it. Bigger Sign cut the tree do something

I used to shop here weekly but aisles are crowed and the cashier snapped at me when I asked where was she told me you'll have to look for it plus she didn't even have the courtesy of putting my bags in my cart, I'm disabled. If I do go back I'll check to see who's checking before I even grab a cart. This use to be the go to store.

Great stuff and prices. Would give 5 but store is a little cramped and sometimes dirty. Otherwise staff is great and always find something I need.

This last winter ried to purchase cheap package of gloves and it was missing one glove asked if they would discount for missing glove manager said sure pulled out lost and found box to sell me gloves from the lost and found box. I didn't purchase package of new gloves as I thought that was rude and totally opposite of what I was asking for.

I visit the Dollar General quite often probably once every two weeks if not more their prices are reasonable and they have what I need food they have cleaning products for the house vitamins they just have several days and most the time you can find their clothing on sale reasonable prices I really like them highly recommend the store in Pleasant Hill

Dollar General has been doing really good lately with their sales on some of their Pepsi products, as well as their Coke products. You can usually get three 2-Litters of Pepsi products or Coke products 3 for $3.00 depending on the week (they have 12-pack sales occasionally too).You are still better off buying the majority of your everyday essentials at either Walmart or Fareway because Dollar General is a little more expensive, but Dollar General is great for quick visits if you're not trying to fill an entire shopping cart.

I can usually find everything I need/want at very reasonable prices however the store is so small and there is so much merchandise the aisles are very very narrow.

They have the cheapest name brand soda. The clerk was a nice young lady. Proffesional and respectful. My favorite Dollar General in the area.

Many things are overpriced and you could find it cheaper or the same price somewhere else. you would think that a dollar general would be cheaper but its really not, but overall its safe and a pretty good place

This is one of the better Dollar Generals I've been to. Polite staff, and they have product in the correct places!
