They provide excellent care, are reasonably priced, and have walk-in hours. The doc actually seems to be in the business of helping animals, not squeezing every dime possible outta you. My beloved dog, Buddy, may not have survived the lyme disease and heartworms that Dr. Royer discovered upon our first visit. For the blood testing, office visit, and 2 months of medicine (he needed 6), I only paid $220. Those of you who have pets know this is not expensive AT ALL!

If I could leave negative stars, I absolutely would. I would never let this man care for my animals. Attached you will find a video of a property owned by Dr. Royer. Multiple cats have been left in this building. Someone will come occasionally to feed them. Litter boxes are overran. Cats sleeping in the boxes. One cat is extremely skinny and losing their fur. This is absolutely absurd and uncalled for. There is no reason these animals are being treated so poorly. Shame on you Doc!

They're always friendly, helpful. Prices fair. It is walk in so that can take quite some time during busy hours. We've always had luck but recently hit a busy hr and if your dog requires urgent care & is in pain, you might call to see the aprox wait time. For picking up prescriptions, that went quick! I do recommend them. The vet techs are quick with responses. We receive good care here.

I took my dog there with a medical emergency and unfortunately he did not make it. Dr Royer was absolutely amazing, super sincere and did everything he could to save my baby. The other veterinarian though is why I’m only giving 4 stars. Her bedside manner is absolutely awful. When discussing my dying dog as I was very distraught, she was very cold and spoke with no sincerity. If you go here, definitely ask for Royer himself.

I can not praise this place enough. Living close to a larger town that has nothing for emergencies and a vet who just tells you go to Indy this vet was a LIFESAVER!!! Our dog declined rapidly and we were set to drive 1.5 hrs to Indy when we found this gem 30 mins away. We had to be there by 300 and the room was packed but WOW is all I can say. We were preparing for bad news but Dr.Rice and her amazing staff gave us better news than we expected. Our poor dog had a tick borne disease that was curable. This staff was there WAY after closing and we were not the last ones and no one was nasty or mad about it even though I am sure that’s irritating. They were patient and so very nice to us. Our dog is so much better and recovering so well. I hope you all never change your walk in policy and the price was so reasonable . You really saved us and Cash thanks you for making him better!!!! And his partner Mia also thanks you because she loves him so much.

They took very good care of my precious boy Gus. Gus ended up not making it, but it was not because they didn't try. They were very compassionate and explained things well. They also didn't compound a bad ending with a crazy bill.

Not a place for me. They are very rude. You walk in and there is at least 3 ladies behind the counter. They want you to sign in on this tablet and take a number, no big deal. None of the ladies said hi or really acknowledge you being in the building. They have no place for you to walk you pet. They want you to keep your pet in the car. Now mind you, we have two puppies, they do not like being in carriers. So we left, two hours later they call for us to bring them in to see the vet. I think not. Would not recommend.

Common sense vet care for real people who love their pets. I found Royer through the Humane Society after the emergency vet told me they'd charge me $8,000 for surgery to remove a ribbon my cat had eaten--which was cost prohibitive to me (and I assume...most people!). After my local vet wasn't able to treat my cat, I was beginning to lose hope, but I called Royer and they quoted me seven times *less* than the emergency vet for the same service. They also attempted to treat him noninvasively first. They took great care of my cat, and treated me compassionately as well. As others have mentioned, because it's a walk-in clinic, the wait can be long, but it's worth it to me! Through their care of my pet, they've gained a customer for life.

This vet office is amazing! The vets truly care about your pets and do an amazing job. They are great at explaining the care/services your pet needs. Our pet went for surgery this past week and everything went really smoothly and the bill was affordable. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Took my cat to Bloomington because he had a cut that was open like a pocket. They wanted $1677.41 to do a surgery that sounded awfully iffy. Took him to Royer. Vet said he was doing ok with it and it would heal in about 2 - 3 weeks, cleaned it and gave him antibiotics and an anti inflammatory shot and sent some home with us and said to keep him inside. Cat is doing great 3 days later.Total cost? $103.78. I love Royer. Posted about it on Facebook and found several other happy Royer customers among my friends.

Royer Veterinary Services is an amazing office full of kind & patient staff. My last visit was made significantly shorter by pointing out I was ok with seeing a tech, my pup just needed her established allergy shot and nail trim. I believe you save a little bit of $$$ this way too. But most importantly I probably saved myself at Least an hour since it is a walk in clinic. I drive all the way from Bloomington so I believe they are worth it!

They truly care about your pet and do such an amazing job to make sure your pet leaves there happy and healthy! It's worth the hour drive and the wait to be seen as they go by first come first served. so get there early or expect to be there for a couple hours but the wait goes quick and you're in and out!!

I took my 9-month-old kitten Lucy here to get front paw declawed on Feb 26. My husband and I have been in in and out of this vets office at least 1 day a week every week since then. The new vet, Dr. Rice, performed the declawing. What an absolute horrible job she did. She used the new laser method, and decided to only use surgical glue to seal the wounds... she's a 9-month-old kitten so what do you think she does but run around and want to play, especially with her siblings. Clearly surgical glue on a kittens paw is NOT enough to keep the wounds from opening. There was so much glue everywhere but where it needed to be, it caused irritation to Lucy's toes, that she started licking too much, and my husband and I woke up to bloody paw prints in the bedroom. I kept checking Lucy's paws for infection or any issues, and I noticed one of her little toes had split open and the BONE was exposed. We rushed her back, and waited hours since this vet goes by first come first served instead of by emergency, only to be told it was just glue and suture. I thought for a moment I was just paranoid, until Lucy developed and infection and we took her back again. They didn't even look at her paws, or run a blood test, nothing... just gave her meds and sent us home. Finally, almost a month later, we had to rush my kitten to the Airport Animal Emergi-Center in INDIANAPOLIS because it was quite literally her BONE that was exposed! We now have to schedule a SECONDARY surgery for my 9 -month-old KITTEN to have the bone FILED DOWN and the toe resealed. She is now on higher antibiotics to fight a bone infection, so she doesn't lose her whole paw (or her life), and pain medicine since she hasn't put weight on it since the first surgery.Mind you, I had to correct the vets office about 5 times that it was a declawing, not a spaying. Dr Royer does not own this office and Dr. Rice has done so poorly that the Emergency Vet Office in INDIANAPOLIS (2 hours away), is well aware of her terrible reputation and lack of care for animals. They were supposed to call me after her first surgery and only sent me a text. Lied to me and told me I could take her home the same day as the first surgery, then waited till I brought her in to tell me I couldn't. They barely spend time in the exam room because their line is always 4 hours long. You try to call and can never actually speak to a receptionist. Poor customer service and lack of compassion.

They charge you for everything and waaaaaay too much. You even have to have a deposit down to get your pet fixed. Odon is a better place to go or pets alive at the linton humane society. At the pet's alive it's under 100 to get a cat or dog fixed and they do vaccines. They have free microchip days even. Though if you have a big dog they may turn them away. If you don't have a small dog you may have to muzzle them depending on what they say. If you adopt from there they do credit checks.

Very impressed. Sent a email Friday night with questions and had a reply by 6:30AM Saturday morning. Tried to call with a follow up and got a text they were helping others and to text back. I did and got a prompt reply. Definitely our new vet!

Extremely happy with the care, treatment, and over all service/experience. I am not from the area; several hours away. The first place I tried to go; because it was closer, did not take walk-ins and informed me to go here.I drove 30 minutes to this vet on July 3rd 2023 at 730am. The parking lot was already full with 8-10 people waiting in their vehicles. When I went inside there was another 10 people in the waiting room. I talked to a lady in the parking lot and let her know i wasnt from around here. She told me to go right in they will see you; she was very happy to inform me of this.Once inside I talked to a lady behind the counter she informed me to use the tablet and keyboard they had set up. She instructed me on how to use it. Info that I filled out was quick and simple. With the amount of people waiting I was hoping to be seen in 4 hours. Everyone in the lobby seemed to know each other and were very friendly. After 55 minutes of waiting; vet techs were calling people from the lobby and even going into the parking lot, I was called. I was surprised with the short wait time. After being shown into the room I talked to a vet tech to discuss why I was there.Rosie has not been eating very well since my other doxie; Ellie died in feb. The past few days what little she had eaten she had thrown up or pushed it out the other end in a non-solid form. She is now extremely thin so this was very concerning. I was going in to get anti nausea meds and some saline fluids to help with her dehydration. After the vet came in we talked about things and he got some information from my local vet. We talked and after checking rosies weight she was given a shot to help with throwing up, fluids, and some meds to take home to help with both ends. While Rosie was in the back getting things taken care of I talked to him about my other doxie to see what he would of done if he would of been my normal vet. The care he would of given Ellie would of made me happy. The price upon checking out I was extremely happy with and I was surprised. After getting home and taking a nap with Rosie she had much more energy and she responded well to meds and treatment she received.Thank you very much for helping Rosie and I. The wait time was short, the care was great, and the price was good. I would recommend this vet to anyone in the area and to anyone traveling thru.yorkie

I am so grateful to Royer Veterinary Services. They have taken such good care of my Daizy! The vet and the nurse, and the front desk staff were all so kind, professional, thorough, and efficient. It’s more than an hour drive to get to their office for me, and it’s worth it.

I cannot say absolutely anything negative about this place. My cat was throwing up and not eating for 24 hours and became very lethargic and no where in Bloomington would take him that day so I made the 45 minute drive here. It is walk in only so I did have to wait a little bit, but they took his symptoms very seriously and took such amazing care of him. When they found out he needed surgery to remove the ribbon he decided to eat, the owner, Dr. Royer, offered to come in on his day off to do his surgery and I am very thankful. When I requested pictures of him, they emailed them and would call me every morning with updates and answered any calls or questions I had. They continued to take such great care of my cat until he was ready to come home. I was also very surprised at the price of his stay, care, services, and surgery and even asked the receptionist if she was sure it was the correct amount since it seemed so low compared to other veterinary offices. I will definitely take my cat here again in the future and continue to recommend them to anyone else, I am so thankful for them saving my cat and in such an affordable manner since I am a student. Thank you Dr. Royer and Dr. Rice and the rest of the staff here!

March 2024 I should have updated a couple of months ago. Gracie is doing wonderful. She was skin and bones and couldn't walk without falling over, after being lost for 2 years. Dr Royers skill, diligence and guidance with home care, meds and regular checkups has Gracie looking like a new cat. She happily races around here batting her toys and often bumping my hands to be petted. She's so much more cuddly and attentive now. She even sits and lays down asking with my dog, for her treats. I can't wait for Royers and the staff to see her again. Eternally grateful. Bless all of you. From me and Gracie.10 -23 I had to leave my cat Gracie there just now. I am 100% confident that I left her in good hands. Doctor Royer is a wonderful veterinarian. Thanks for your skill and your kindness.

My family has been going to Royer’s for 10+ years. It’s always been for minor things.. however back in October when my 2 year old dog Sydney was rapidly declining we took her in. Things were looking very bleak for her, and Dr Royer and Rice tended to her very well. We ended up having to board her for several days to receive IVs and medication. They got her stable and thought everything was good and may be just a kidney infection rather than kidney disease. However, Dr Royer advised that if she doesn’t stay well we might want to consider sending her to Indyvet where they have a little more capabilities because he has exhausted his resources. A few days later Sydney declined even worse over night.. so we took his advice and went straight to Indyvet at 3am. There they were able to detect a very rare disease and tested her for that. Sure enough she was positive and we got an action plan in place.. This is a disease that is very hard to detect, it’s rare, and it masks itself as other things… it takes a very expensive test and equipment to diagnose. There’s no fault for a small town vet to not have it. Where Royer’s excelled here was that they took the information from the other vet, researched, and took my Sydney on. I live only a few blocks away so them willing to keep her medicine… and even bringing a new testing method into their clinic because of her. I’m forever grateful. With this new test they brought in, I hope they can help possibly identify this disease in other dogs in the future. Dr Rice has been absolutely incredible. She was the one who cared for Sydney mostly in the beginning so now I’ve learned their rotating schedule and make sure we go on a day Dr Rice is seeing patients. Sydney has a great quality of life because of the help you all have provided and will continue to provide the rest of her life.

5 stars! Awesome service, friendly staff, knowledgeable Doctor. This great group of local folks took us in late in the day as new patients, and really took the time to help care for our furry girl ("Buddha") who just experienced a first-time seizure. We were scared, in a new area, and eager to get her medical attention.Dr. Royer offers walk-in appointments and very reasonable rates for vaccines, scheduled services, and maintenance prescriptions for lots of furries. We met a goat with a leg injury, a hairless cat who is part of the veterinary support team, a 2-month old kitten getting his first set of shots, and sibling Great Dane pups in for a routine checkup - just to name a few.I cannot thank Dr. Royer and team enough for their hard work and dedication to quality animal care!

Kind and compassionate, the entire staff. Fair prices. Long wait sometimes but its not for lack of good care, its because they take thier time with each furry patient. Two weeks ago I had to put down my sweet dog of nearly 11 years due to kidney failure. I saw it coming but was in denial as I begged the vets here for every fix possible over the past few months. Dr. Royer is a very smart man about animals and I know he saw it coming too but he gave me what I needed, which was hope and just a little more time. When I brought her in Sept. 29th I knew more or less what was needing to be done, my beloved girl was weak, could no longer hold down fluids and losing weight fast. Dr. Royer was extremely kind and never made the decision for me like some vets do, he just presented me with all the options as he had found her kidneys were functioning at 25% at best. When I tearfully asked to let her go that day he made the whole horrible process easier. He was calm, compassionate and I could tell it bothered him to even have to do it even though there was no escaping it. That level of compassion is worth every penny. I don't just bring animals to a vet, I bring the little furry creatures that sit by through the years and listen to my woes or share in my excitement. I bring extended members of my family and this place truly respects that.🐾♥️💙I cannot express the amount of appreciation I had for him and this place in that moment, I loved that dog so so very much and he honored my sentiment toward her by the way he gently put her to sleep for the last time.Take your pets here, they will be loved and cared for:)Run free sweet Lucy over that Rainbow Bridge, I am so glad you were mine🌈♥️💙
