We just took our cats to be declawed. I know there is a lot of controversy about having this done. I got the impression although they saw the need they really didn't want to do this. That being said they told us all the problems and complications that could arise. I didn't feel like they were being judgemental just thorough. They were very caring and told us everything to do when we got them home. Even did a follow up call checking on them. We are very satisfied with the service we received.

DO NOT Take your Pet here! This is Absolutely the most rude snide Vet I have EVER been too! And I have taken my animals to some great Veterinarians this woman does Not need to be A Vet you could not pay me to take an animal there. No kindness just you need to euthanize your cat right now or it's neglect. When I'm crying about loosing my big cat you should be ashamed. I'm editing this after my experience after losing my big Beautiful Cat. Do NOT GO HERE! This Place NEEDS SHUT DOWN! This woman smiled at me while telling me to kill my cat and acted like she loved it! I Should have punched her in her smug smiling Face! These good reviews have to be Fake!!! Go to Dr. cooper in Paoli nice caring people or Spring Mill Veterinary services great Vet! The only reason I came here is they had next day openings I see why!

Terrible place. Rude, unprofessional, and unequipped to deal with old breed stereotypes. One star is generous. Took my German shepherd there for the first time in May with plans to have him boarded there a couple weeks later, and the office became very rude when they found out he’s unaltered. He’s never been aggressive in public but the vet but her staff treated him like a time bomb waiting to go off because of, according to them, how many times they’ve been threatened by unaltered male GSDs in the past as if it’s somehow my or my dog’s fault. My wife did tell them prior to boarding arrangements his breed and sex and it didn’t seem a problem then. The most I heard out of him during our visit was a low gurgle when another dog in the waiting room came up to him. When my wife called them later, the vet told her our dog was “aggressive and growling at the other animals in the waiting room.” Salem Veterinary Service needs to make it clear they are unequipped to professionally handle and care for breeds they treat as pariahs. Needless to say, we’re never going back, found a highly professional GSD-friendly vet, and boarded him elsewhere. My dog loves his new boarder and she calls him her favorite shepherd so clearly Salem Veterinary Service has some issues of their own to work through. Maybe quit agreeing to work with a breed they don’t know how to professionally handle, so they won’t have to treat paying owners like second-class citizens. Do yourself and your best friend a favor and go where you’re both respected and treated with dignity. This place is not it.

The vets and office staff are great and really care about your pets. They saved my rescue kitten Dora who was near death and she is a happy healthy girl. Always get excellent care, wouldn't go anywhere else

Higher priced than Benny Moore but well worth the price if you want a thorough visit. Vets are nice and take their time to ask questions or listen to your concerns to learn about their patients, and they do a thorough physical to cover all bases. they are definitely most concerned about well-being. They have been my vet for years, but I most recently got my puppy spayed. We had her home the same evening and she recovered remarkably, she barely even has a small scar now. They took good care of her! Highly recommend this place for your fur babies!

When my cat needed an urgent care visit they got us in super quickly (the day after a holiday weekend no less). I’m from out of town and my regular vet wasn’t able to accommodate such short notice but I’m so glad I took her here! Very reasonable price for the urgent visit plus treatment especially for a non-established patient. Everyone was so kind and funny and I felt like my cat was in very competent hands. This team really knows what they are doing. They are down to earth, efficient, and caring. So relieved to have her on her way to recovery and so thankful for everyone at Salem Vet Service! <3

My experience with Dr. Underwood was not pleasant. She was callous and came off as accusatory. She was rude, worried me about my pets health, and showed little regard for my feelings. I don't have a problem with being told bad news, but the way she went about it was completely wrong. It was almost as if she found joy in being the deliverer of bad news. I will be taking my business elsewhere because of her behavior.

I went to Salem Veterinary Clinic because I had heard good things about it. I was there with my Jack Russell Terrier for a first time visit. He LOVES people, especially children, and he is a registered ESA. This was apparent when the vet tech came in and he was wagging his tail and trying to lick her everywhere. The vet tech walked out of the room for a few minutes, then came back in with the vet (Greenwood?). The vet tech put a lead rope around my dog's flank and held it with one hand and then got him in a head lock and held his mouth with the other! I was confused as he had shown no aggression and he would show you anything you wanted without a fuss. My dog began to flip out as he had never been handled that way, and as I reached for him they told me to step back that this was "procedure" and that if anyone was going to be bit it was them. When he wouldn't quit struggling they stopped the exam and the vet wrote some stuff down on a piece of paper and then handed it to me saying it was his "examination report card" stating that it could not be completed because my dog was "uncooperative." As soon as they left the room I told my husband we were never coming back here. Restraining my dog the way they did was totally uncalled for, especially since he had given them no indication of aggression. My daughter was also there with her dog, so I asked her if they had treated her dog the same way, and she said no but it was a different vet. If it was office "procedure " to restrain every dog for an exam then why did they not restrain hers too? This was a horrible experience that left my dog visibly shaken. I would NOT recommend this clinic to anyone.

They let my children's kittens die all because of $ . I thought vet's were supposed to care for animals but this one only care about the money. I would not recommend this place to anyone that needs emergency care for their animal because they charged us $120 to get rid of fleas and worms on our kitten that was dying regard less , when I took the one surviving kitten to another vet who saved lil buttons life! So if your pet is part of your family please take to a different vet office who actually cares for animals and not just the money.

I took my 2 lady cats there for shots and fleas and advice. They answered all of my questions. Very nice pleasant staff. I am moving but will come back. Amazing bunch of ladies 😍 👏 ❤

Great experiences overall. Best perks are the prices and they are ethical breeder friendly. I find if I need routine care or minor-mild urgent care they are the best go-to vet. I would recommend anyone who needs specialty care or palliative care to find a larger network vet clinic. They are excellent for affordable routine care.

The staff was FANTASTIC, however this Vet was more interested in selling us products and getting us out the door as soon as possible.Came in for a new puppy exam for my 9 week old blue heeler. She sat patiently in the waiting room for over an hour (we were early) without needing a leash, went potty outside and was extremely friendly with other people/pets. The vet spent less than five minutes with us and was very unfriendly and impatient. He had extreme struggle clipping her nails and trimmed off far too much, and she nipped him in response. He kept remarking about how poorly trained she was. (9 weeks old, we have potty training, animal interactions, and basic come/sit/stay commands down. I didn't even have time to discuss this!) He was upset when I politely declined his cocoa butter dog shampoo. Furthermore I asked about vaccines and told him I was considering purchasing them somewhere else. He would not give me ANY information and said he had no routine puppy vaccination schedule to offer. I highly doubt he has no material on vaccination schedules, and I shouldn't be pressured to purchase his soap or vaccinations to receive quality care and advice. Furthermore, I EXPECT my veterinarian to be more considerate towards my pet and business, and to answer any questions about the care of my pet.

The most caring and thorough Vet clinic around. I used them for 13 years to my Chocolate Lab "Hershey". They saved her life after hours emergency call on a weekend day. Jessica was the best. Dr Fisher I will always be grateful. If you want true loving facility/clinic call these fine people up in Salem Indiana.
