My first visit here was last week. I had been thinking of getting a cat for awhile now and a friend suggested my local Humane society. I'm sooo happy I listened. All the staff here are amazing. My family adopted an adult cat, who I must say is soooo sweet. We brought her home this past Tuesday, and all I can say is that she was the missing piece to our little family. She is adjusting well and is already making herself at home. She is absolutely a doll. Thanks so much Humane Indiana for all you do.

I have used Humane Society everywhere I have lived in this country. This particular location literally made all the arrangements sound perfect and for two months kept giving me excuses or completely ignored calls/emails. At the end of the day I’ve fostered stray kittens, paid for veterinary attention ( their vet apparently is out sick every week) and now I was told she is u comfortable taking in the kittens and mother strays. I was given a list of other places who are also not accepting animals along with Animal Controls number! This place makes me me sad… if I thought stray animals deserved to be euthanized I would have spent two months of time waiting on “Munster Humane” to help!

Me and my wife went here to look at adopting an new furry baby. As we walked the facility, you could tell that the employees do a great job and truly care about the residents. The employees where very helpful and informative. You can go on the website and they will list things they need most for facility. On this day we donated $50.00 of soft canned kitten food. We also adopted a great 93 lb puppy. If your thinking of getting a dog or cat please consider adopting and when you head up to take a look at the facility please be sure to bring a donation for what they currently need. They do such great work here 👍 I included several pictures of the great new addition to our family.

Adopted the most wonderful dog ever. Gigi is awesome. All the staff were great, called everyday while I was fostering. Very helpful. Everyone that meets her falls in love. Great with kids. She is Living the best life.

We have adopted 3 of our puppas from Humane Indiana. We couldn’t ask for a better place to get a family pet from. The place is very clean and all the staff are super friendly. They have healthy happy pets here. The process is thorough and professional. From the meet and greet to the pick up and payment. All top class. I highly recommend Humane Indiana

The ladies were so helpful with information about adopting. We were looking for a new kitten for our son and we found him there. They are amazing with following up to see if the new family member is Adjusting. I had a concern about our no kitten, not eating and reached out. The reach back within minutes to give me information on what to do and why he might not be eating. The following day he started eating his food and has been thriving in our home.

When I went to the munster humane society to adopt a kitten that were able to match me with the purrfect one,Vader.The staff and volunteers were super helpful.I highly recommended others to go to this place if you are looking for the perfect companion!

Found dog tried to take to this shelter Saturday and was told intake was closed til Tuesday and was then told to take the dog to a different shelter that was CLOSED. Humane society should know homeless dogs don’t stop because of a holiday and have staff available to take care of dogs in need consistent with their posted hours(eg 11am on Saturday ) It’s a shame staff would also refer me to a shelter they likely knew was closed ; made me drive into Hammond for nothing. I couldn’t keep the dog I found because already have 2 of my own. I know not to seek helpFrom humane indiana in the future nor will I be donating to this shelter given their untrustworthy staff

We recently took one of our neighborhood feral cats to Humane Indiana and participated in the Trap and Release program so that we could get her fixed. I am so grateful that this program exists. We won’t wake up to a litter of kittens under our deck and neither will our neighbors. During her procedure, your team discovered she had an infection and you also treated her with antibiotics. Normally this procedure would costs hundreds of dollars, and you didn’t charge us extra for your humane care to this beautiful creature. I pledge to do more with donating to Humane Indiana because you provide such a necessary role in neighborhoods. These creatures are not at fault for being born into a feral colony. They deserve humane care and I am grateful for what you did for her. Your staff was amazing. The follow up with intake was so quick and efficient. Thank you so much.

Fat, rude, Anglo Saxon woman? with bad fashion sense somehow hurried herself out of the door before I could get close to it (because apparently there were no ethnic names on the appointment schedule) so she knew we didn’t have an appointment. Condescending tone when asked for help. She also tried to come outside and record me while holding onto the paperwork she was supposed to give me. Stank, trashy, trailer park type with an inflated ego thought she was slick. All of these places are in cahoots…so like I said about Homewood… this will be the last time we’ll ever be dog owners because they obviously smell like them so they more than likely lay with them too. Trash.

I had a good experience here. I had been searching for a Siberian husky after mine passed. Lo and behold, I found one here! I called and inquired and the lady who answered was very polite. She gave me what info they had and I told her I was going to make an hour drive to see him. The awesome part was I fell head over heels in love and got to take home my new baby! He was worth it. Thank you. He is doing great in his new home and we truly love him!!!

I would recommend this shelter, absolutely!! Very clean and the people there are so nice. We adopted a kitten recently and so love him! My other cat mostly likes him. Lol. They play together and clean each other. She gets aggravated with him when he gets to be too much. He was just the perfect choice for our home!

My wife and I recently adopted a puppy from here. During the adoption process we were told that the puppy had an hernia that would need to be fixed under there treatment and care. We took our puppy in for the hernia surgery at 930 in the morning. After a few hours of not hearing from anyone I called a few times and left a couple messages which til this day hasn't been returned. My wife called almost 14 times that day just to get a simple update. Finally around 330 that day someone finally answered and said that she has been done and we need to be there before 4 cause they close then. During the next day I notice that her wound looked open like it wasnt even attempted to be closed. I called several times again which finally after the 7th time the lady at the front desk answered and told me the clinic was closed do to cleaning but would have someone return my call ASAP. So with no choice I had to take her to my vet to be seen. The vet there said that she should of been givin glue to seal the wound close and some kind of anti-inflammatory medicine for after surgery. I had to pay out of pocket for this. My wife even contacted the director of the shelter to which she pretty much called us liars and told us she didn't need to be glued cause it was stitched from the inside and would not be reimbursed for our other vet visit. BEWARE of adopting here. I don't think our puppy should of been sent home with us in the first place until her hernia surgery was taken care of. Below are pictures the next day after her hernia surgery..the site should of been glued to avoid opening or infection and wasn't!!!!

They do TNR I am so happy. Plus at an affordable price. I have strays in my neighborhood so getting them fixed makes it better for all. No more unwanted kitties. The customer service was awesome as well. The black cat has been roaming around for a few years. I was finally able to get him use to me so he could get fixed..

Dropped off a stray kitten I found freezing to death in an alley today to them. They threatened to call the police on me for dropping a cat off. Was just trying to be a decent person.
