Food was good but they ran out of French fries and brought us potato wedges. The waitress didn't charge us for them which was nice since she didn't ask first before she brought them to us. Overall it's a nice little diner and they seemed to stay busy the entire time we were there.Kid-friendliness: The waitress brought coloring books and crayons plus a couple of little games for the kids to play.

They had Philly cheese steak sandwiches, awesome,tasted great ,fries were crisp,just right..2 thumbs 👍👍 for the Modoc dinner.. I believe cost was $9.99Butter scotch pie too.. we were working in Modoc, it's a 40 minute drive for me, I'm going to take my wife there..will make for a great Sunday outing!!Kid-friendliness: Great hostess,her name is Linda

Been here twice now. Very happy both times! Generous servings of fresh, hot food and fair prices. Staff very courteous. It was breakfast this stop and it was a genuine breakfast!

Fried chicken was great. Ribs were ok. Pie was awesome..Service was terrible..They were out of most sides. I think you have to live there and be a regular to get waited on? They passed the waitresses baby off to customers to hold and staff took turns watching it. It could be a very nice place to eat if they acknowledged we were there and stayed on top of refills and not so lazy..

Great service and food! Coworkers and I have ate here every day for the past week. Some of the best biscuits and gravey I have ever had! Lunch specials are always very good and you cant beat the price. Wont find a better diner!!!

I have found it, ya'll.. the best tenderloin in Indiana! Its here at the Modoc Diner. The potato salad is the best we've had in 20 years. Great food, friendly people and very reasonable prices! We will definitely be back!

Staff is a hoot 😂 However, the service is quite slow. Having to ask for refills minium of three times... Food umm it's ok , I could make better in my kitchen. The POTENTIAL is CERTAINLY there just need to see better service & better food. Also, they close and then reopen on a weekend... If they would open EARLY ,they certainly would gain and keep regulars & customers. Open doors at 6:00am and stay open. Offer daily breakfast, lunch and supper specials!! Finally, fix the soda fountain, pouring 2 liters into it DOES NOT MAKE IT GOOD! One more suggestion find a good Baker for desserts , pies, cupcakes, cakes etc. 😜

Mom and Pop operation. Most of the time the food is tasty. Prices have climbed dramatically since they opened, as well as, portion sizes have been reduced. I have had to return food because it was cold or undercooked. People are very friendly!

Loved this little place. Exterior does not give any clue to the goodness inside. But it is a little gem. Home-cooked genuine American comfort-food fare; my burger was very tasty. My wife had a grilled chicken salad, also very good.They have reasonable (low) prices, daily specials, and several home-made pies on hand for the sweet-toothed among us.They are open daily 6am-8pm, bit also have a closed break from 2pm-4pm.If you are driving in the area, no sweat, drive there. We were biking the Cardinal Greenway Trail, and it was a bit of a 4-mile side trip to get to Modoc. We did a triangle cutoff at Thornburg road just west of Economy, north to Modoc, had lunch, then went west on Rt 36 to catch up with the trail near Losantville. It was worth the effort!

The Modoc Diner is wonderful. The service is friendly and the food is delicious! Located on the highway with easy in and out parking! Stop in when you are in the area and feel the warm welcome when you enter the door!

Great place, mediocre food. Nice people, great atmosphere, food is something a college student would put together in a midnight feeding binge. Very inexpensive. Filled me up and off I went. Quick stop.

This place has some of the best catfish and fried chicken around. Friendly staff and great pie! A very good value, and family friendly.
