This place is part aviary, part pet supply store, and all fun! The birds are gorgeous and the owners were so friendly and courteous! We were stunned by our newest favorites "Blueberry" and "Jackie," the enormous blue Macaws! Please be respectful of these truly awe-inspiring living beings and remember it's not a petting zoo - they are living, breathing animals and deserve our adoration without provocation! We enjoyed our visit and we will be back!

I love Bird Fever. They always have the food and treats I need for my birdie, he grooms my bird for me. The family is so nice, kind and knowledgeable about birds. They have a good selection of birds to buy too. It’s a treat when my daughter drives me here.

I used to come here all the time and visited after four years. This was where I got my first bird. It saddens me to leave this review but the store was dirty, multiple of the parrots have plucking issues, and the breeder cockatiels they had for sale looked sickly and injured. One’s nostril was ripped and the other’s head was bald. I took my new cockatiel here to get a nail trim and emphasized not to trim his wings as he is a free flighted bird. I brought him home to find that all of his flight feathers were gone. Not cut. Just gone. He was behaving very scared and now he can’t fly. When I called the owner was defensive. His feathers didn’t just magically fall out within 30 minutes. I don’t know what happened but I will never ever trust this store again. I’ve attached photos of my cockatiel that I didn’t take to bird fever (grey) compared to my bird that “only had a nail trim” (yellow). As you can see his feathers are gone. Poor guy. Beware.

This store should be shut down immediately, it’s truly disgusting, I don’t know how there are so many good reviews. It’s clear to see that some of the birds have been picking at their feathers and are lethargic, some are in tiny cages with absolutely no form of stimulation besides looking at the four white walls of the shop.. and some of the cages are WAY too small to have multiple birds in them. The store is disheveled and dirty, the owner should be ashamed. I hope in your next life you come back reincarnated as a bird that’s trapped in a tiny dirty cage so you can see how it feels

New softbill habitat is awesome birds are really happy. We acquired a found little budgie and needed a quick cage, knew Bird Fever should have something used. I'll upgrade cage later if no one claims him! Always helpful advice at Bird Fever!

I love going there and seeing the bird family and their owners. They have everything and anything for birds. It is clean and they are so kind. If you get a chance you would be so lucky to get one of their feathered family friends. They are just so friendly there❤️🐦‍⬛🐧🕊️

wow what a neat spot to learn about birds and get food and supplies. our favorite was a white bird named Bart who was dancing to the music!! and a macaw said hello!

This place is amazing. Took our birds here for beak/nail trim. Expected trouble like a bite from the birds. We walked in and handed the birds over, and before we made it around the store once, they were done. So fast, and the birds are clearly more comfortable and happy. Also got some great advice on food and training. We're moving to Brown County, but we will definitely be making the drive back here every time we need something for the birds.

Easily the best place in Indiana for bird related food, toys, and equipment. The people here are friendly and passionate about birds. Not only are we able to get quality food and toys for our conure here but every time we go in the staff will answer questions for us that we may have and they really helped us learn how to properly care for our Green cheek. It's also fun to be able to visit some of the birds that the owners have here everytime we swing by. Milton is my favorite.

Know it all type employees who truly don't know a whole lot. Should stick with what they are paid to do instead of offering up unsolicited advice to people who don't care to hear it. Try the lady in Shelbyville, she's much friendlier and not so egotistical. Healthier looking birds at Shelbyville bird store as well.

Love this place so much. Every time we go to Indianapolis we always stop here! Staff is very helpful. And such a variety on bird toys that are greatly priced! Love that they have bird safe wax melts. ☺️

I use bird fever for all my birds needs. They have affordable grooming and they are very fast, great products and knowledge to help an amateur like myself. Its also alot of fun and my kids enjoy seeing the birds that he leaves out for show.

I have been to dozens of pet stores across America, this is by far the worst store. I am also an avid bird owner. Now in saying that, my reasoning for 1 star is the well-being of the “store birds”... the bird cages are absolutely unsanitary, along with the water and food bowls being filthy every time I visit. The owner is obviously a hoarder and has too many birds. The birds all show signs of issues, from feather plucking to pacing to extremely overgrown beaks and nails. I would be interested in seeing current vet bills for each bird. I’ve spoke with many people who have purchased birds from bird fever that end up having issues with the health of their birds. The owner has no regulations to handling the birds, hands are not washed or sanitized prior to handing or in between handling different birds. The owner also is not friendly and seems annoyed at customers asking questions. The prices are high on not just birds but cages and stands as well. Unfortunately this store continues to go down hill. Sadly, the 20+ “store birds” that rarely get out of their cages (because there are too many birds for one person to give adequate care and attention to) have no one person to interact with all the time and are always having fingers stuck in their cages as they beg for attention will most likely be stuck there on display, in filthy cages, with no beak/nail maintenance, most likely no or little vet care for too long tocome. This guy needs to sell his “shop birds” for the simple well-being and care of these birds.

Always a pleasure to be in the store. We have been going to Bird Fever for 15 years. We started going when they had the shop on 82nd St. The family who run this business are truly wonderful. They know birds and always available to answer questions and offer advice. I highly recommend this store to anybody who is a bird owner.

Bad experience. Bought a cockatiel less than a year ago, it just died today. Went there thinking we would get better quality. Customer service was minimal. I've had seven other birds, so not new to this. This was the only from bird fever.The other ones lived nice long lives. This poor bird appeared to have PDD symptoms. Will not be back. Not worth the 40 minute drive. Worst part is he was a birthday gift.

I always like to support small businesses. These are some of the nicest business owners that I have had the pleasure of doing business with. We have purchased 2 amazing birds from them. Our first bird was purchased from a large chain and there is such a huge difference in the birds. These owners put their heart into caring for these animals until the day they are ready to come home. They really make you feel like family while you are visiting. All the extra customer service without the high costs. Birds and accessories are extremely reasonable. Will never purchase a bird from anywhere else. Love these guys!!!

Me and my family got 2 budgies from Bird Fever and oh my gosh! They are so amazing! We have had no problems! They supply everything you need! The staff is so nice and gentle! I love going there some weekends to get Kiwi groomed and we are even getting my sister another one!

I appreciate that we have a bird place in Indy. The birds on the floor are really cool to hang out with, but most aren't for sale. To find what IS for sale, you will need to visit the website or Facebook page. Bird Fever would definatly be a 5+ star place, simply by making communication on bird availability clear and easy for new potential customers. Maybe bird species names on cages, so new bird lovers know what breed excites them. thanks for letting us hang out. ✌️❤️

We take our birds here to get their wings and toenails trimmed and Mark does a great job, he's always super friendly and answers any questions we have. Its definitely worth an hour drive! We love Bird Fever!

I just had to post a review for this place. They are soooo awesome! I had to take my parakeet in yesterday to have his beak trimmed. I was so nervous about it because I had heard so many negative things about what could happen if not done right. I was more than pleased with a job well done. The people are so friendly and it only took a few minutes. I'm so glad we found Bird Fever and I highly recommend them to anyone. I will definitely go back. Thanks Bird Fever!!!

I’m in the market to purchase a bird. I went in the store and yes, the birds are beautiful but no one asked me if I needed help and when I inquired about a bird I was told he was the owner’s (I think) she said no , he’s mine.Cages have no prices and because I felt unwelcome I left.
