Great experience. owner very informative and helpful.. we showed up right before closing on Saturday and he treated us as if the store would be open for another 3 hours.. very clean tanks and healthy fish. my take away was that the fish and animals were not inventory, but living creatures.. He tries to make sure the customers environment is best for the well being of the fish. Very impressive. can't wait to go back for more purchases.

Horrendous customer service. If you care not to be assaulted by the owner do not shop here. There is clear video of him assaulting a much smaller woman customer who was disrespectful in no way for simply asking for a refund that was promised to her for a previous return and an additional refund for yet another defective purchase made after the initial refund was promised to be issued, that still wasn't credited yet. She was failed by the justice system because the judge wouldn't even look at the evidence during the hearing. Please don't become his next victim. She was a customer for 2 years prior to this incident.

Owner is great and very knowledgeable.Prices are very fair.People are very nice.Best Salt Water store in all Northwestern IndianaAnd the best part is the owners great Dane. I fell in love with him right away.

Great like a diamond in the roth he knows the fish from actually having them not just reading a book but pure experience the prices are also great well below any other store close such as the ark. The Inside doesnt look like much but dont let that turn you away from a great deal and great service. You can tell he has a natural love for what he does he goes above and beyond to help us we greatly appreciate this. If you are just starting your tank, or you already have a tank up and going this would be a great environment for you he has a vast amount of patience and knowledge and most of all he Is not a dick about It. :^)

My husband and I went there today. We have seen the outside everytime we went somewhere so this time we decided to drop in. Big mistake. As soon as we walked in we saw a main display tank. Dark, and full of algae. What tanks that had fish in them were dirty. I would be worried about disease contaminated my tank. To be fair, there were 1 or 2 tanks that we're fairly clean. But for the most part, like I said, the tanks were dank, green, and in desperate need of maintains. Owner ignored me as I was waiting at the counter. He was busy talking to his friend and diddling on his phone. Was finally acknowledge when his friend said 'Do you need anything?' We had high expectations to be let down by dirty tanks and no selection. By the way, what little selection was there was highly overpriced. No reason to go back...

Wow. The owner Kurt Sterling has been in the salt water fish business for many, many years. His knowledge of corals, inverts, and salt water fish is second to none. He has helped me many times with my equipment and with various tips to help my corals grow. The selection is excellent and his prices reasonable.I have purchased corals, clams, and salt water fish from him for the past fifteen years. This the best salt water fish store in northwest Indiana and rivals many locations in Chicago. What I like best is that Kurt does not try and "up sell" you products. If you have a problem with your tank, he will give you the $5 solution before the $50 one.
