Love the combination Dr Laura Pratcher has of book learning and common sense! She's great and Paige our tech is awesome too! Even Wilma smiles.

Our pets have been going here for years and sadly have only seen a decline in care since Dr. Sako & Dr. Newsom left the office. Dr. Pratcher saw my two dogs for the first time for their yearly exams recently and didn’t do a thorough job at all & I was very unimpressed by her. She didn’t look at their teeth, scan my lab’s body for lumps/tumors (which they have always done in the past with the other vets), barely looked at his ears & ignored my concerns when I said he has been acting very strange and depressed suddenly. We paid to get labs done and thankfully they came back good. However, what bothered me is the doctor said she would call me on Monday at the latest since my dog had blood work done on a Friday. She could’ve called me on Saturday, the following day, but said that they can get crazy & I was empathetic to that and eagerly waited for a phone call on Monday. She didn’t call me all week… I had to keep calling the office to get answers and finally reached somebody on Thursday to request his results. I just thought that was very unprofessional that she didn’t call me when she said she would and I still ended up having to reach out to her office to get answers and results for my dog. Additionally, their office is supposed to open at 8 AM, but their phones are always off and there’s no option to leave a voicemail when they are open for business hours which is very frustrating.Really what did me in was the fact that my dog was just there a few days ago & he definitely has something wrong with his teeth. His jaw and lip are quivering all the time and he’s drooling on one side of his mouth. When I tried to open my dog’s mouth he doesn’t let me and if I finally get it open, he is yelping out in terrible pain. I don’t understand why his teeth weren’t looked at. I paid for that visit obviously and feel like we should’ve gotten the thorough physical exam like we always have had in the past. She just did a crap job and she doesn’t seem to truly care about the pets she sees, doesn’t care about patient concerns, and just wants to get you in and out and sees dollar signs. Now I have to pay to take my dog somewhere else to get looked at and taken care of. Also, she never called my pets by their names which may sound silly to be irritated about, but I’ve never had a vet not call my pets by their name. I guess my point with that is is that she runs it like a business and it’s not personal or heartfelt at all. Finally, since this new vet has taken over the office charges you seven dollars to get a paper script so you can get your animal’s scripts filled somewhere else. Their office literally charges double the price of Chewy or Costco so I will never pay them for my dog’s meds. Save your money and go somewhere else. This place is sadly not what it used to be. I will say that the front office staff is very friendly and helpful though

I can’t say enough good about this place. We took our very sick dog to get checked out. Unfortunately, we had to put her down. The entire staff was so kind and accommodating in what was one of the worst times for my family. I genuinely don’t know how we would have gotten through such a hard loss without the staff being so kind to us and our Daisy.

Dr. LaMere is the worst veterinarian I've EVER had the misfortune of dealing with. In the past, I took my dog there to see Dr. Pratscher, who is amazing!! I took a chance with Dr. LaMere and will never forgive myself! I have a 9 year old Golden Retriever, who has always been on meds for anxiety, and is petrified of riding in a vehicle. Dr. LaMere entered the room, made NO attempt at pleasantries to my dog, myself, or my 23 year old autistic daughter. So much for the "We go above and beyond to make your furry friend feel calm and safe" message that plays on the phone while on hold. None of that with Dr. LaMere!! She was rude, abrasive, judgmental because my dog is overweight, and was overdue for her vaccinations! Yes, she was overdue, but Dr. LaMere wasn't interested in the legitimate reasons for it. And my dog, Pixie also has a luxating patella, making getting her exercise extremely difficult. The vet techs were phenomenal, as was the front office staff. Extremely sad when the actual "doctor" I paid $724.00 to care for my dog is just mean and uncaring. Both my dog and 23 year old daughter cried all the way home. I have NEVER been so angry and disappointed with another doctor in my life! She needs her license revoked!

The staff and Dr Pratscher always go above and beyond in service when we visit them. We never feel rushed and Dr Pratscher takes the time to answer any questions we have. Would highly recommend them! Thank you Animal Medical Center. Keep up the good work!

Dr. Newsom diagnosed my dog's eye issue in one second where as several other vets could never figure it out. I'm now taking her there to get some growths taken off of her and her teeth cleaned. She is 14 and I have absolute trust in him to take great care of her. I just love Dr. Newsom and I hope he never fully retires. I'll try and remember to post photos afterwards. Surgery is not for another week..

Our family cat had gotten sick. She had been a strictly indoor cat, never exposed to other animals, so at 7 years old, this was the first time she had been taken to a vet, yet, unfortunately, the last. She had never been sick before.Over a period of 2-3 weeks, she lost her appetite, and lost a significant amount of weight along with developing some raspy breathing. I elected for them to do an X-ray which revealed a large mass in her lung. I know treatment would likely not have granted her a good quality of life. Dr. Sako, and all the staff here were very sympathetic and supportive. They shed a tear or two with me when I said goodbye to Gia, as I elected that it would be best to put her down. Their heart clearly showed that it’s in the right place. A few days ago, My kids and I adopted a new cat, Twilight, and this will be the first place I go to if she ever needs to see a vet.

After a hideous debacle at Coyne, I brought my Molly here in what was to be the last few days of her life after a sudden and aggressively progressive mammary cancer diagnosis. Dr. Newsome and his staff were compassionate and supportive, reaching out to me, unsolicited, several times to check on her. Scheduled surgery proved elusive and with Dr. Newsome's tender care, she ascended to the next realm, leaving behind her pain and suffering. They have their own crematorium here so I had her ashes the next day. Every person here cares as if your fur baby was their own. Not since Dr. Glen Major retired, have I found someone I can trust again.

My husband and I visited the Animal Medical Center of Hebron for the first time with our rescue dog Sheba. The doctor and staff members were courteous and knowledgeable. The facility was very clean .

If I could give no stars I would.I took my cat in because he was scratching his butt against the floor a lot, so I told them I think he may need his anal glands expressed. I just moved to the area, so I have never seen this vet before. They didn’t do any type of exam, they didn’t ask me any questions about him or how he is with being held or touched. They held him down and ignored me saying he does not like to be held that way he will freak out, then simultaneously attempted to express his anal glands right there in front of me. When he tried to bite the vet tech they acted as if my cat was the issue. They called in someone else who seemed VERY inexperienced. she picked up my cat by his neck, then proceeded to wrap her hands around his throat (he was making choking noises with his eyes bulging) while he was on the table to try to get him to relax and get in the cat bag they brought in to try to help. At this point there were 3 extra people in the room, and my cat was not okay. I told them to just stop and the vets stellar response was “okay take him back to orland park then” as if he responds this way to patients that are unhappy with him often. I am sobbing as I write this as I have NEVER experienced someone treating any of my animals so poorly. My cat should have never been put through all of that. He should have been examined FIRST OFF. Then taken in back where he can be placed in a cat bag before anything was attempted to be done to him considering how invasive it is.When I asked for a supervisors name and number I was refused one, told that they are owned by a company, and when I tried to call back after I left they had turned the phones off, 30mins before they closed. This “vet” needs to retire and this place should be shut down.I don’t even know the name of the vet that “took care” of my cat because he didn’t introduce himself or ask any questions about my cat at all. He seemed like he should’ve retired at least ten years ago.

Took my Bengal in thinking he had an abscessed tooth, turned out he had cancer and a very horrible tumor that was bleeding nonstop. We had to put our furbaby down. He was also 13 years old. The staff here were very sympathetic and were very gentle with our baby. They offered on-site private cremation. We even got a little clay molding of his paw prints. They as well mailed a letter with more paw prints and a little baggie of his fur. I will continue to use them in the future for my other fur babies.

Extremely professional, competitive pricing. Very knowledgeable, extremely experienced. When you are in their one does not feel rushed. You have their undivided attention . I cannot say enough positive things about my experience. Dr Newsom is a fine veterinarian. Truly cares about what he does. His staff are very professional as well. Thank you for being there when my pup needed care.

After moving to a new area, we were in search of a new vet. I brought my 3 cats for their yearly wellness checks, and although they were nervous, everyone was so nice to them.

I’m not one to leave unfavorable reviews. But I am livid. Apparently, there will be days you show up to get meds for your pet during business hours & they just aren’t open. No warning. Called Tuesday morning before work & LVM to get meds for my dog. Even let them know Id be in Wednesday morning to get it. Nobody called me back so I assumed I could pick up meds from 8-6 Mon-Fri. I showed up Wednesday @ 9:30 am and every indication said they should be open but weren’t. Signs on doors said closed. Website, hours on door & voicemail said they should’ve been open. Called & left a voicemail in the parking lot about needing her things & nobody called me back but they posted on their Facebook page about dental care. I’ve worked for multiple Vet clinics, just not being open with no warning is not ok. My dog went a day without meds, I’m just glad they aren't life saving ones. I'll be ordering meds through their online pharmacy until we find a different Vet.

I'm very glad that we found this place... My pug had a near death allergic reaction to a vaccine when he was a puppy... Not knowing what shot it was that made him react as bad as he did I have refused to get him any shots at all... They are very understanding about it and have never pushed or made me feel like I had to get them... My pug is going to be 13 on October 6th and has only gotten his shots 1 time... Pretty much all of the other vets we called all said they couldn't see my dog until he got his shots...

Not only did the allergy shots go up from $84 to $111 without being notified before receiving it, the office manager with long blonde hair came in and when questioned about it she had such a horrible attitude towards being asked by the girl checking me out it made me want to change vets. If that attitude had been directed towards me I would have been speaking to the owner. She acted very entitled. The girl that had been trying to check me out very friendly.

I've been going to this office for almost 10 years now and have had nothing but trust for their veterinarian. She's handled plenty of health issues for both my dogs and cats and each time it's only required one visit. Would highly recommend even if it is a bit of a drive for someone.

They really care about their patrons and their animals. I’ve never met a more kind and caring crew. They don’t over schedule so when you go in there you get their full attention and they really do check your dogs over so well. It’s the best vet I’ve been to in a long time

Our dog had pyo and needed surgery quickly. Our vet would not do it because they had no-one to watch the dog after surgery. They suggested we go to the animal emergency hospital in Mishawaka. When i inquired about the cost at the emergency clinic i was told somewhere beteeen 3 to 5 thousand dollars. When we contacted dr newsom in Hebron and told him our story he came in on his day off and performed the surgery. They charged about $1500. Our baby appears fine and is recovering. They are highly recommended.

Took my dog here for fleas and the staff was amazing! They took the time to let Bella get to know them, they were quick with their service. And they even gave me a treatment for my other dig who was still at home. Amazing staff and service. We will be coming here from now on.
