I shop at the Greenwood location because they have a nice fish room and a good selection of fish accessories. I really appreciate the great customer service that Tyler & Caleb provide. I can tell these two employees care about the animals and that means a lot to me. I have purchased Discus and Angel fish from here and really like the quality of fish.

Their animal care is disgusting. Giving them water is minimum effort in taking of an animal. The bowls are either bone dry or have green slime in them. The poor gecko was barely alive. Do better!!!!

Ignoring the glaring issues with the puppies and kittens, which I'm sure has been said over and over, their fish and reptile departments seem well cared for. Small animals and birds still look as rough as they always have, though the parrots seem happier than they used to. The selection of pet care stuff is significantly better than other local pet stores which saved it from a 2/5.However, should someone see this from the store, please do some research into housing female Betta fish together. The female Betta tank is abhorrent and while it is densely planted, is way too small for the number of females that are wasting away in the tank. Stress lines show on each and every one. A bigger tank would be better but at least more tanks should be used. It's awful.I bought one of the girls and she is in a 10 gallon, alone, and will be staying that way. When I got her, she was nearly white with bright stress lines. Now she is coloring back up, but will continue to exhibit illness from her stress for a long while.The aquatics section is amazing other than this. Even the male Bettas have a better set up than most pet stores so I was really disappointed to see the female Bettas so poorly treated. It's a common misconception that they can be placed in these sororities in such a way. Female Bettas are still very aggressive and don't like to see each other this much. They even kill one another just like male Bettas.I would love to see this change.

This place is amazing! They are so helpful, and knowledgeable. We ended up spending way more money than we originally intended, but it was well worth it. Thank you to the staff, they were all very friendly, and helpful. We dropped some photos of the new tank we bought, as well as some of the decor that came from there. Not all of it came from there, but a lot of this setup did.

Over priced non sense. I google image searched a bunch of stuff on the shelves to price check and almost every item they sell is listed online for half the price or lower. You're better off searching online through YouTube videos from professional animal carers and going on Amazon as much as I hate to give a boost to Bezos you'll save hundreds if you look online instead

Absolutely love this place and have been coming here for well over a decade. They've just moved locations and it is set up so much better than the last shop there's more space everything is organized better you can tell where everything is in the staff seemed much happier to be there than where they were. Then again they were always helpful and cheerful whenever I've ever been there. They hire well knowledged people. The owner of the company especially is pleasant and extremely knowledgeable! Clean and friendly environment. Because of their knowledge I'm able to keep very healthy fish tanks and other animals in my home!

We have a 3 year old leopard gecko with a diet of either roaches or crickets. At (many)other pet stores we have had the issue they are consistently sold out. One store told us they received their deliveries on Tuesday and we would need to come that day because they usually sold out for the week by Thursday. Maybe I am unaware of the national Roach and cricket shortage but thankfully Uncle Bill's pet store doesn't seem to be affected. ;). That is where we shop for all our gecko supplies, they have everything we could possibly need, plus friendly service, and a clean store.

I have shopped uncle Bill‘s many times over the years for various pet supplies. I’ve always been happy but on this particular visit, I was looking for goldfish for my pond. The stock was low. I was ignored by the sales staff, and I had to endure one of the employees who seemed like he was in charge Complaining about customers and how they only care for themselves. When I asked about goldfish, it felt like I was being admonished for not knowing that pond season is not for two weeks “man”. Needless to say I went to Petco had a great experience got my goldfish and on the 70° day. It was cleaned up my pond and it is looking good. Good luck uncle bill’s.

I used to love this store, when I went in today, I went to purchase a dog. My mother is disabled and she wanted to see it. We had a blonde woman walk up and accosted us as she wouldn't listen to what we had to say. I will make sure I boycott this store until that woman is removed. I will make sure of it. You don't treat people so disrespectfully, especially if you're purchasing one of your animals! Again this store used to be amazing now it has a very condescending saleswoman. $6000 saved from this store.

It's not the cheapest of the pet supply bargain chains but they do carry the best selection when variety of similar items is important to you. However they have the best customer service as far as stores of this nature in my area which is the south side of Indy. If they don't have something your looking for they will definitely try to get it for you. Both pics are my own aquarium and terrarium both were created with items i purchased entirely from uncle bills, including all fish, just not the snake.

Great business, locally owned and operated. They have a great selection of fish and reptiles available that go outside of the typical chains like Petco, etc... The staff is always friendly and pretty knowledable or will otherwise point ya to the right person to help!

don't go here if you're looking for rats or other small caged pets. I called asking if they had feeder and pet rats and was told yes to both, only to drive down and be told they were "sold out" of both in the 45 minutes it took me to drive up. There's obviously no regulations or restrictions on how many animals one can buy at once, even buying out whole cases of animals leaving other people none. There were children running around the animals and sticking their fingers in cages, all staff were only on the register and the ferrets are 500$ each. Ruined my experience and first chance with rats, the store stank excessively (I know rodents etc. stink but this was extreme.) and despite the reviews saying you need to be 18+ to hold pets there were multiple children holding dogs. Extremely disappointing.

I have a 7 ft red tail boa constrictor and an enormous bearded dragon so I go to Uncle Bill's Pet Shop at least twice a month and get a couple large rats for the snake I always get them Frozen so that I don't have an enormous rat chewing on my snake and for the bearded dragon I usually get two hoppers which are smaller mice but they're bigger than pinkies and fuzzies. I wish I was able to get out to the reptile shows out at the fairgrounds but I haven't been in quite a while, last time I was there I bought I think a hundred rats for very cheap then I go to Uncle Bill's or any other Pet Shop and they charge a lot for a dead Frozen rat but out of all the pet shops around Uncle Bill's Pet Shop is cheaper and the employees seem to know their stuff. I've been going to Uncle Bill's Pet Shop for a long time and unless another place opens that's a lot cheaper I'm going to continue to go to Uncle Bill's pet shop and I've never had mice or insects that I bought for my pets that made my animal sick at Uncle Bill's Pet Shop so I do trust that they do not have any kind of diseased feeders. I definitely wouldn't Buy a dog from Uncle Bill's because they are so overpriced it ridiculous but it seems like all pet shops charge way too much for terrariums aquariums heaters anything that you would need for a reptile and I don't see that changing so out of all the expensive places there are to go Uncle Bill's Pet Shop is a little cheaper than most places

Took my 2 yr old grandson to see the puppies- they were all adorable!! Several good choices for people. Birds were very pretty.. The store was well maintained, staff was very friendly

Encountering such blatant disrespect from a particular staff member was disgusting. Their staff member disrespected me in a way that was not only baffling but also lacked the social etiquette needed for ANY functioning adult. Many individuals visit the store unaware of proper pet interaction, while many people want to interact with the animals, they try to do so without putting their hands in the cages.( I've seen people use their keys, wiggling their hands, basically using whatever's around to interact with the animals.) Regardless of whether someone is following proper etiquette or not , aggressively snatching something out of someone's hands and walking off is what I take great offense to. If this woman would've had the decency to kindly inform me that my interaction was inappropriate, I would have gladly stopped and taken note, especially since I am not accustomed to interacting with animals often and am currently looking for my first companion.My interaction with the animal was influenced by observing another couple's behavior, unaware at the time that their actions were in error, and later mine being in error as well. Though we refrained from inserting our fingers into the cage, I didn't know our actions would still be considered harmful or inappropriate. After the incident with the worker, that same couple returned to play with the animal just as they had before. Understanding their lack of awareness, I approached them as I should've been approached, informing them that their form of play was not safe for the animal. They understood and stopped.I was able to communicate with them without violating or humiliating them, treating them with respect and decency. They adhered to the rules given, just as I would have done if given the chance.All in all, I kindly urge the aggressor to consider her actions when interacting with future customers because this hostile behavior would not have been handled the same way by other adults. Everyone reacts differently to disrespect but either way, it's unacceptable.

I bought a bunny on July 7 and he died on the 14th. It was so traumatizing for my daughter. I was asked to bring him back for antibiotics on the 13 th bc they thought he had wet tail, they then wanted to keep him overnight to do another dose of “antibiotics” and check on him in the morning. The next day I called at 10:45am to get the news that he died, she mentioned she knew at 8am when she checked on him. I would have liked a phone call then. I wanted to pick him up so we could bury him and she was asked what medication was given to our bunny, she showed us a box of Gut medicine over the counter … why did our bunny have to stay if we could have done that at home and it wasn’t even a antibiotic. So hurt to lose the bunny and feel like he was sold to us sick and we didn’t know. They did refund me for the bunny but that was the least of my worries. Buyer beware 🐰❤️‍

usually i come here to buy food for my two bearded dragons and i wanted to try getting them some hornworms. I have gotten some from here before and was give the container they come in. My boyfriend went in yesterday to get some and the man at the counter would not give him the container (which has the food for the worms in it) even though they’ve given it to us before. As a result of this, one of the worms ate the other and now they are both dead. I went in later to buy more to see if I could get a container and the same man told me they weren’t sure if they could do that but eventually gave me one. The container i got with the worms looks as if it was pulled out of the trash, as there is barely any food in it. All the hornworms they had were very tiny and all looked like they were on the verge of death, or dead. I am very disappointed with the service we received and the products we received.

Words can’t even explain how upset i am with this place. Our normal go to for live feeders shut down so in a pintch we came here. The next morning our snake had regurgitated the mouse and today it’s dead….Our snakes are very very well cared for and have never had any issues yet we feed from here one time and we lose an animal absolutely disgusting!

Went there today knowing it was ganna be overpriced, but not knowing that the cats where ganna be in such poor care an sold for 400-3.5k each, AND you have to 18+ to hold any pet in the store, red flag or is it just me? The picture of that poor baby is only exotic colored, noting more an they want her for 3,500$. Y’all need to get your stuff together. Puppy millers!!

Extremely disappointed in my second visit. Level of service depends on who is working. I paid $10 for 25 large dubia roaches -- not only did she put them in a bag and not a cup, I had to specifically ask her for cardboard after she started tying the bag without some, and AT LEAST HALF WERE SMALL OR MEDIUM.

First picture is from September 12th and second is from today. So for at least 2 weeks the same dead turtle has been left in this tank. This is ridiculous and they need to take better care of these animals. The live turtles have been in the same tank as the dead one for at least 2 weeks. Who knows how long it was in there before I noticed it? DO BETTER!!

Love this pet store!!! It's the best one on the southside of town. I also like the new location. It's much bigger which makes for a better shopping experience. They have an awesome selection of animals and the staff are always kind and courteous.

This is one of the best Uncle Bill's pet store in the area. The associates are friendly and knowledgeable. I can't stay away from this store. The turtle is a new family member. I met another customer and his six month old Doberman who was afraid of the other dogs barking. He was absolutely adorable and friendly.

Honestly so tired of being ripped off when buying feeders. I ask for large frozen mice everytime. 'these ok?' An employee asks me holding up a bag of dozens from 12 ft away. 'The biggest you have' I say. And they charge me 3$ a pop.They know they have quality control issues with their large feeders and I've seen them go thru several different distributors (even individually plastic wrapped...yuck) and yet they still think it's okay to charge large prices for basically fuzzy sized mice. Looks like I'm gonna have to start ordering online in bulk and hoping they don't freezer burn before I even need them. Still a better deal than this 🤦‍♀️
