The economy has affected them for sure, but if you are looking for a variety of good homemade sausage, not found in any other store at a great price is worth the trip. Plus you can grab other things on your way out. The salsa and avocado 🥑 dip are also very good

Store seems to be struggling but with this overlooked rotation or placing of a display might be getting hit with heat from somewhere and this is the result. One packet was fine while this one turned out to be bad just bought 3/24/24

They have a lot of produce but it's hard to figure out what the organic produce is it's not well organized. The meat department has no grass-fed beef or free range chicken. The deli is okay but is a little oddly arranged with the bakery. The aisles don't have a lot of selection but they have a large liquor department.

The people here are really great, however it looks like the store is struggling. Many of the shelves are sparsely stocked or bare and generally not a huge selection of products. You will likely be able to find staple items here but the store is a shadow of its former operation. I hope things turn around for them.

WOW.. in a world where customer service is an afterthought the new owners here have obviously made it a priority. Where 4 months ago I would have never returned to this place,I now tell all my friends and family about THIS is where you shop.Great family culture and they truly care about the customer experience.Keep up the great work!

I shop here all the time. I like that it’s a smaller store and I want to patronize businesses in Warrenville. They have good selection on everything. The staff are all very nice.

Really want to see this place succeed and all, but I think the current ownership is lost and need some help, shelves are emptier, some of the stuff is expired, having lived in Warrenville for 15 years and remembering Family Foods, its sad to see the decline, I hope they can turn it around

I love Tom's on the whole, however this review is specifically about their deli and bakery. First, the deli serves hot food, daily specials and has a dining area. While there today we chose their Chester's Fried Chicken Strips. (Yes, they have bone in too) The chicken was absolutely delicious! All white meat strips of real chicken in a crunchy, batter dipped & deep fried shell! Moist, but not greasy! Just really great chicken!! Now...The Bakery is just stupid good. They still get up early to make the donuts in house, daily! My go to is their apple fritter, or blueberry..apricot...cherry.. then their glazed cake donut is simply delicious! If you like a great, old fashioned donut...gotta try Tom's!(The pic is all that remained of four pieces by the time I remembered to take the picture, it was that good!)

The store has improved dramatically since new ownership. The selection, cleanliness, staff, shorter checkout line wait times are all for the better. Management is friendly and always asks if help is needed.

I love this grocery store! The owners are great, and I always find good deals and get what our family needs. They are my favorite place to get bones for making bone broth, and grabbing a rotisserie chicken or other quick easy dinners pre-prepped. It’s a peaceful, friendly atmosphere to shop and we are thankful to have our neighborhood grocery store!

The quality of fresh produce is good, the prices are also reasonable. You should definitely check the bakery section. They make the best donuts.

This place is in walking distance of our house and we refuse to go there again. Everything is expired. We have to spend more time looking at the expiration dates of the food than actually buying food. Today, we got swiss cheese from the deli, assuming it would be fresh. Oh boy, it was old. And I don't even want to get started about the time we bought a cake from there and it had a layer of mold on the bottom of the cake. Make sure you check the expiration dates at this grocery store.

New owners have cleaned and organized it up nicely. Lately they seem to raise prices dramatically on certain item (bread, meat, beer), so recommend comparison shopping at a second more affordable spot for some items. Great bakery, especially the donuts

I shopped there yesterday June 24 2023I bought dutch farm jello and it had expired on June 3rd 2023. I didn't look at the small writing on the cover, til today. I called the store and told whoever answered.The prices of food keeps rising but the qualities of food gets worse.Check those dates.

Its an OK place to shop. I do miss the lunch / salad bar after new owners took over.Managers or owner appear to say Yes to customers. I asked why they didnt make Almond horns (bakery) anymore. He says they will make it tomorrow. Tomorrow comes and no almond horn. Wheres my almond horn !?!

Great options for very specific food allergy requirements at prices much lower than whole foods. Staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. Wish it was closer to home. I go anytime I'm out that way

Tom's market is one of the best and easily accessible to Fermilab. The prices are reasonable and competitive in nature. The quality of items are up to the mark. They have drinking water re filling option available with just 50 cents per Gallon. Also they have well arranged parking and reserved parking for PH persons. Wheel chair easily accessible. Thank you!

1st time here. No music VERY COLD everywhere in the store. Produce Aok! I bought broccoli cauliflower tomatoes and peppers. Like many places empty shelves every aisle. The only other noticeable mention is that no one was in the store. One cashier friendly with a winter coat on and I will not be back.

Phones are always out of order. Store is always dirty and in disarray. Staff doesn’t care to help you one bit and they’re all super lazy. You ask for help in the deli and the woman who works behind the counter acts as if you’re disturbing her. They sell stale day old bread. Unprofessional! Never have anything in stock. Always out of fresh produce. I would much rather spend your extra time and drive to a real grocery store where they actually care and appreciate you and your business and patronage!!! You’ve been warned folks!

New owners are doing a nice job of evolving the store into a community building shopping experience with an improved variety of foods at reasonable prices. Staff are visibly happier and provide excellent customer service. Enjoying the new store layout, too. Even though it's still transitioning, it's become our "go to" grocery store. Thank you, All!

The new ownership has put a new face on this place. You can tell that they are striving to take this store from mediocre to exceptional! This store is so close to me that I cannot help but shop there but now I actually enjoy shopping there. Beer and alcohol selection is fantastic and will rival most specialty shops, produce is fresh and crisp and they now feature Bohr's Head deli meats. Looking forward to continued positive strides and improvements. Great job so far and keep up the good work!

Had never been here before as it is normally out of my way but happened to be passing by one day. Stopped to get kitchen twine to wrap a roast. Everyone was very helpful. The cashier showed me where the twine should be, and when they were out of it suggested that I get some for free from the meat department. The guy in the meat department was very helpful and had the owner come over to help, who very cheerfully went back and got a couple feet of twine to give me. Just made a quick stop but everything looked great. After this fantastic customer service, I will be going out of my way to shop here occasionally.

Family Foods has the best products and the best service of any grocery store in the area. I heard that new management took over earlier this year and they have taken this store to a whole new level. They quality and prices of the foods are top notch. Their bakery has great products that are baked daily each morning and are delicious!

I heard that this was under new ownership so I went back there today with my weekly grocery list. I was surprised by how much this place has changed! Great produce selection, deli had Boars Head & the meat selection looked fresh. Overall, everything was organized and extremely clean. New owner saw my full cart, thanked me AND gave my daughter a free donut! I miss old school family businesses... see you next week!
