We visited the bar to explore their whiskey flight, hoping to sample some intriguing options before making a purchase. To our surprise, it turned out to be a hidden gem! The extensive whiskey selection, including takeaway options, impressed us. The option to purchase bottles was a delightful bonus. Engaging in conversation with the owner added to the enjoyable experience, and we're eager to revisit the cozy atmosphere soon. Highly recommended for whiskey enthusiasts!

What’s not to like about this well-run place unless your under the age of 21! The owner has spent hours and hours creating a space where a beverage consumer can find an excellent collection of international and domestic drinks of all types!Bottles are well organized and detailed with information that can help a novice like me make a choice. I selected a Kentucky bourbon that was smooth going down as I played trivia!Rusty Fox has various evenings of entertainment that also include open mic and live entertainment.I need to go back soon and order some Chicago deep dish pizza! Check ‘em out in downtown Sterling.

My favorite place to go for a great craft brew or wine with friends and family. There is no other place in the Sauk Valley that can beat their drink selection, aura, and hospitality! They even serve some meats and cheeses while you're sipping and socializing, or while you're playing a board game with friends and new acquaintances.

The selection of wine, drinks, and whiskey was wonderful, as was the atmosphere. Will definitely come again for drinks and maybe a cheese tray. But the Chicago style pizza---sorry but it was bad. It was barely warm and I had a Digiorno pizza that had better taste. Was very disappointed as I was craving a true Chicago style pizza and this was the only venue that offered one. Needless to say, we did not take the leftovers.

Ladys & gents, this place is fantastic! You can order from Kelly's, Smoked on Third or any other resturant and carry in to The Rusty Fox. The atmosphere is mostly quiet, can get a little louder on the weekend evenings. It is very cozy and has a huge selection of wine and beers. Definitely a go to place! The owner/bartender is very pleasant and is knowledgeable on his wine & beers. They even have board games to play and also a Trivia Night that I have been told is a lot of fun. On my list to try.

They have a very nice selection of beers and wines and also offers a good selection of other harder liquors. They offer snack selections of fresh baked bread with meat, cheese, and fruit plates. No traditional bar foods. The atmosphere is quiet and laid-back while remaining contemporary and entertaining.

Darrin is by far the best most creative bartender I've ever met in my life! I have a ton of allergies and he whipped up a cocktail that was allergy free and amazing. One of the nicest people I have never met!

The coolest atmosphere and great selection of craft beers. I love that they have shelves of games to play or sometimes have live music. It's a great place to have a few drinks and hang out with friends.

I love Rusty Fox - has all the greatest beers you can want. There are also meat and cheese plate that are too good. I just went with my husband for a cheese and beer pairing and we had the best time. They have live music and we have not had a chance to get there for that - but really stop in a find out what real beer should taste like.

Bought tickets ahead of time online for a comedy show, and was told to squeeze in some place. The whole point of buying tickets was to make sure we got seats together. Very poorly managed. Do not recommend?

This is a cool dive to check out and drink some ctaft beers and wines. They also have some good cheese and meats to snack on with your prefered beverages that are awesome. If you are ever in the area and are looking for something out of the norm then check this place out. You will not be disappointed.
