Stopped by the self-serve lumber building to pick up 50+ boards. Within a few minutes, Cayden swung by with a forklift and helped me get everything down from the second floor and loaded into my truck. Excellent customer service!

Absolutely outstanding customer service at the Menards in Sterling!!! Shana and Joseph at customer service were incredibly helpful as we needed to process a cancellation order for another store and get one placed for the Sterling location! They provided seamless service and were both very friendly! Also there flooring selection is great! If you ever need help definitely look for Shana!

Usually in most stores it takes forever to find help so I didn’t bother since the garden center was jammed packed today I needed 20 bags of compost I lifted maybe 3 bags and helped found me! I believe his name was Estle he helped load it for me and also loaded it on my truck very thankful!

Had terrible customer service. Anytime we asked a question we were answered with a smart comment. Then we paid for yard supplies and we asked for assistance to retrieve, and never received any. Spent an hour looking for our supplies because nobody would help us.

I picked out the wrong size of a part I wanted and they happily refunded it but they don't carry Turtle Wax rubbing compound. Disappointed in that.

Warranty support for Criterion appliances is virtually non-existent. After buying the 20.8 cubic foot upright freezer in December 2021, the unit started to show ice build-up on all of the food packages eight months later. I called warranty support and they opened a case and told me I would receive paperwork for a replacement within 4 to 5 business days. One week later and no paperwork. Three more calls and three weeks later, I got absolutely no further with this case. I then called Menard's and was told I could bring the unit back for a store credit. That is the only reason I am giving one star. Otherwise, I would give zero stars if I could. This unit failed in less than one year and warranty support blew me off. I will never buy another Criterion appliance and certainly would not recommend them to anyone.

Good sales and good product. They definitely need to step up the customer service. I know the store is good for the community, but they could use to give back. They use to have a contractor lunch every year. That was a welcome site to all the hard working men and women in the the community. It was fun for the employees as well. You get to meet your main customers and hear what their concerns are. Menards can afford it.

August 19th 2022 at approximately 6:15 pm I called more than once about boards sizes prices etc. I was put on hold For a eternity so I tried to call back later this time was put on hold but they just laid the phone on the countertop. how professional. I could hear everything. As a contractor my time is valuable there’s more than one lumberyard

I had to get 70 bags of mulch and when I went to the checkout in the garden center and ( Becky) waited on me and told me rudely that she needed a pick ticket me not knowing what she was talking about because I have never purchased anything out in the yard she kept rudely telling me that I needed one and I walked away and went to the yard to get the gentleman that helped me out with the mulch to ask him where the pick ticked was and he politely told me where to go. Then I went back to (Becky) the cashier and handed her the ticket. Very disrespectful!! I work in retail and would never disrespect anyone like that. Then we went back to my vehicle and called the store to tell them I had an online order that I was picking up and where did I need to go, so they told me to go to the yard gate and let them know then he told me he would run it out to me, so I went to the door “13” to pick my order up and waited and waited.... nobody so I got out of the vehicle and walked up to the counter and which 5 guys were standing there doing nothing but talking. I said I’m here to pick up and online order and gave them my name and they looked at me like ok! So after a minute guy walks over to shelf and doesn’t see it. I look around and see my coco liners sitting on the floor so I grabbed them and walked out! Terrible customer service. By the time I left I was so upset. I would have just cancelled the order but I was doing the mulch for my parents that live in Rock Falls.

It's one of my favorite places to go since buying a home. We now can get new "toys" there. Just watch your prices and quality of what you are getting. We shop online first and then go see it in person. Look online at other places and see if they will price match. Worst they can do is say no. I do that on everything I buy at any place. You don't want me to go with you to buy a automobile. LOL

Tried to find a cartridge for my faucet. Could not get help from staff. Decided to go home and look on the web. Was able to verify the part and order it for less money than Menards price.

Hardware, lumber, building and construction materials, tool rentals, appliances and way more at generally good big box store pricing. If you're familiar with the other big box hardware stores like The Home Depot or Lowe's, Menard's is more like Lowe's. The store is always clean, well lighted and well organized.The help is more adult oriented rather than inexperienced inattentive teens that could care less about you. The help is fairly well trained but you will probably have to find them if you need help while shopping.One big knock is that they take down sale prices before the sales end. If you are there in that last few hours of sale price shopping, it makes it difficult to down right impossible to find sale items. Much of the help seems only focused on changing the shelf pricing. I'm sure that saves on labor but at what other costs? I know that I've left the store frustrated many times with far less in my cart than it would of been if I could have found the many advertised sale items that had been remarked early.

Really helpful and friendly associates. Had exactly what I needed. Update: Still good place to go just don't like that the rebates only come back as certificates that can only be spent at Menards so you really don't save that money.

Today at garden center it took both cashiers to help one customer. Which is not bad if maybe 30 sec. But a couple of minutes with lines starting to back up. One cashier should of done her job and let other cashier due theirs.

I bought some boards and was due to pick them up 2 days later, they told me they would set the items to the side until I came with a truck to get them. I paid and got a gate ticket for my items. THEY SOLD THEM TO SOMEONE ELSE INSTEAD. Horrible business, wouldn't even help when they gave me the wrong replacement. Now I'm screwed into keeping what I was given since I already paid. This is so wrong.

I went in today and asked for help in two departments (paint & garden center) both employees helped me with a smile on their faces, listening to my thoughts and plans and also offering suggestions. Samuel in the garden center was specifically kind and helpful!

Nice and friendly employees. Was asked a couple of times if I needed some help. Which was nice. Bought some Sale items even though I went in for some caulk. The one thing I hate is the terrible handicap carts! Had knee surgery and I had to wait 10 min for a cart. Then the one I get, had a problem with the wheels. OMG! So embarrassing! This is the 2nd time I've had problems with the motorized carts.

Careful with what you buy. I place an order for windows paid cash and 2 times they order the wrong windows, and after dealing wasting time for hrs. finally I said nope give me my money back, going somewhere else. They didn't like that he the manager said I had 2 options re order for 3rd, time and wait another 2 plus months now I've been already waiting since may for this windows, or they would give me a in store credit I said no I paid cash and that's what I need back they said no so I said ok see you in court. they just lost a customer of 25 years who had spend 100's of dollars, I had purchase all the materials here for my last 3 business that I remodel.

The store has a large selection of products, prices are very good.board selections are nice. various thicknesses of different species is great for the woodworker. Lots of fastening selections, household items and tools are great as well.

Walked in to a bad greeting. No service. Bought nothing and walked out. We like going to menards generally. However the greeting we got entering set a bad tone. We needed help finding a couple items, walked the whole store and nobody was available to help. Very disappointed!!
